I love the aspect of MJF not wanting to go directly after Moxley, because it highlights just how much of a cowardly heel he is, while also making Moxley look even more dangerous in the process. It fits MJF's character perfectly to scheme his way into an easier path to the title by trying to position it on someone like Jarrett. The way he framed his offer as almost respectful, while still subtly insulting Jarrett, was such a great touch. It added layers to both characters and helped the story move forward. |

I initially questioned the logic of why MJF would want to help Jarrett win the title in exchange for a title shot when MJF could just challenge Moxley for the title himself instead, but after watching the promo a second time, I picked up on the character's motivations. MJF (in kayfabe) doesn't want the title on someone "strong" like Moxley because that would be too much of a challenge for him, so instead he wants the title on someone "weak" who can easily be beaten (Jarrett.) It makes sense for MJF's heel character to try to go for the easiest path to victory, and his condescending offer is a great way of being insulting without directly insulting Jarrett. |

MJF schwirrt im luftleeren Raum irgendwo zwischen Main Event-Szene und special attraction part timer und alles, was er seit geraumer Zeit zeigt, ist eigentlich nicht interessant. Double J hat eine doch sehr ambitionierte Story, bei der ich die Online-Häme schon etwas verstehen kann. Nun führt sie diese Promo beide zusammen und wir erleben die Spitze der Bedeutungslosigkeit. MJF will den World Title und verschwendet seine Zeit mit Double J? Ich weiß nicht, wie man das retten kann. Die Zeilen hier sind solide vorgetragen, aber letztendlich viel zu lang für das, was sie transportieren. Die üblichen MJF-Beleidigungen, tough guy Veteranen-Phrase von Double J und am Ende eine kleine Konfrontation. Das ist nicht viel. |

I am okay with Jarrett being used in midcard stories to gatekeep or elevate future stars, but I do not want to see him as the focal point of a presumably championship level storyline. It is frankly a waste of my time. MJF is completely directionless and requires a character makeover, as the return to pre-championship character traits is no longer interesting. He can talk so incredibly well, please just let him say something interesting or exciting. |

He went from a Lone Wolf to an American Hero to a Hollywood Bigshot to The Devil and back again. It's really hard to care about a character when it's gone through so many changes and crappy stories. This is something I'm not interested in either. Jarrett vs. MJF sounds good on paper but MJF isn't really that exciting right now. MJF offers to help Jarrett win the strap but Jarrett chews him out. Really generic stuff all considering. [***1/4] |
