"Not only do I not respect him, his wasted potential pisses me off"

[Bryan Danielson is backstage with interviewer Lexy Nair prior to his match on Collision with Jun Akiyama, a former Triple Crown Champion in All Japan Pro Wrestling.]

Lexy Nair: "I've got Bryan Danielson here, later on tonight you will go on to face Jun Akiyama, which some would consider a first time dream match."

Bryan Danielson: "Yeah, uh, what you didn't say and what you should have said is the legendary Jun Akiyama. Somebody that I respect, one of the greatest wrestlers in professional wrestling history. Somebody who's Eddie Kingston's hero, and Eddie Kingston, he's going to be on commentary... watching me wrestle one of the greatest wrestlers in history, and beating him. Somebody who is Eddie Kingston's hero.

Now, here's the thing. I respect Jun Akiyama. I respect every single thing that he's done, do you know who I do not respect... is Eddie Kingston. And see Eddie he just made this thing that our match at Revolution, if he wins that I have to shake his hand and I have to show him respect, and he thinks that's going to kill me inside, and you know what? Maybe it just will. Because I do not respect Eddie Kingston, and do you know why I don't? 'Cause if he were doing this promo, do you know how he would do it? You've done-- you've done interviews with Eddie Kingston, and what? He says what, [Mocking Kingston] 'oh the boom,' 'oh the light,' 'oh you got your shoes on,' 'oh this, that, whatever,' and then he walks off and storms off.

He is not a professional. He has never been a professional. I've known Eddie for 20 years, he's somebody who had more potential than anybody I have ever met, and he has WASTED it! He's WASTED it! Until the last year! Not only do I not respect him, his wasted potential pisses me off. And that's why I'm going to beat him at Revolution for the Continental Crown."
