08.02.2025 | notanothersmark | 7.0 | When I think of guilty pleasures and wrestling, I look no further than the Truth Commission. I still think they were a tad better when the Commandant was around (seeing him bark orders to all the men while marching down to that theme always made me laugh), but things get extremely interesting once Don Callis (Jackyl) gets into the fold here. Callis is very good on the mic and quickly becomes the group's draw over Kurrgan, who's basically just a funnier version of Great Khali anyway, and starts doing odd stuff like putting dollar-store crystals on the foreheads of fans. And then all of a sudden they just vanish and return months later as the Oddities. Objectively this is not a good group but anytime I would see Kurrgan stumbling down the ramp and screaming in gibberish with that theme song playing behind him, I couldn't help but be entertained

27.10.2024 | Phrygo | 2.0 | Jackyl doing commentary during the Truth Commission's matches was the only good thing to come out of this, because in the ring they were just bad to passable. Dishonorable mention to The Interrogator, part of the small percentage of wrestling characters capable of surpassing Giant González and The Great Khali in playing the role of "imposing giant with no charisma or in-ring ability".

20.04.2024 | Ruthless Attitude | 1.0 | They really wasted Don Callis on this team? Wow! Kurrigan a.k.a. The Interrogator had a big imposing look, but unfortunately he was 1997's version of The Great Khali!

15.08.2019 | KyleEnjoysWrestling | 1.0 | You know the little green plastic army men toys that were around when you were a kid? For some reason, everyone had them, but no one really liked them. They were pretty bad at their job of being a fun toy & were mostly just there. That's the Truth Commission. Did they ever have matches? Do we know anything about them? Did they go away eventually? These are all questions no one has an answer to because the Truth Commission is so inconsequential. Luckily, they did no real damage in their time, so there are worse factions in the annals of wrestling history.
05.07.2019 | DanTalksRasslin | 2.0 | The Truth Commission were latecomers to the Gang Warz storyline, which had largely already run out of steam by that point and limited their chances of success. Their initial lineup was decent enough, with the newly introduced Interrogator (Kurrgan) as the monster muscle of the group, Recon and Sniper (Bull Buchanan and Luc Poirer) as the main tag team, and Tank (the former Mantaur) who was... also there. Not long after their debut original manager the Commandant was replaced with the cult leader-like Jackyl, which initially didn't really fit the theme, but soon the other members of the group besides Kurrgan fell away and were replaced by the likes of Golga, Giant Silva and Luna, and Jackyl rechristened it the (Parade of Human) Oddities - before himself being replaced by the Insane Clown Posse. So, basically, we have a South African military regiment gradually morphing into a group of fun-loving circus freaks. In retrospect, what an odd stable history.
27.12.2018 | JEK 1991 | 9.0 | I loved these guys. Their attire was excellent with the green shirts, red braids, and the pants. Very patriotic gimmick. I love the promos the Commandant did and tired to terrorize the WWF. Kurrgan (Interrogator) was the biggest and did well for the stable. Recon and Sniper were the main tag team. When Jackyl came in they did better. Survivor Series was their best. Great for the Gang Warz. Unfortunately Jackyl focused more on Kurrgan than Recon and Sniper

Was auch ein Minuspunkt für die Gruppe ist, dass keiner der Wrestler wirklich gut war, sie waren als Gruppe richtig gut, aber sobald man sie alleine in den Ring ließ konnte man sie vergessen. |

29.01.2014 | koeddylaemmle | 0.0 | Originally lead by The Comandent, they were apparently to be the representatives of South Africa in the 1997 botched Gang Warz storyline. The Jackyl quietly replaced the Comandent but the damage was done. Much like Los Boricuas and Disciples of Apocalypse nobody in the Truth Commission really got a chance to stand out. The announcers would talk about how intimidating The Interrogater was but he never did anything intimidating. The Jackyl didn't really fit the theme of the group either. They are one of the top three worst WWF stables of all time.
