1 | 11.05.2025 | bherbert1980 | 10.0 | SCUM was never about finesse. They were about burning Ring of Honor to the ground from the inside out. Formed in 2012 by Kevin Steen (now Kevin Owens), Steve Corino, and Jimmy Jacobs, SCUM embodied the dark, violent, anti-establishment energy that made ROH feel dangerously unpredictable. They weren't trying to be cool villains. They wanted to infect the company and leave nothing but wreckage behind. Coming off his brutal feud with ROH and his reign as World Champion, Kevin Steen was the perfect figurehead. His alignment with two of wrestling's most chaotic minds in Corino and Jacobs made the group feel instantly dangerous. SCUM wasn't just a faction. It was a mission statement. The group expanded over time, pulling in Rhett Titus, Cliff Compton, Rhino, and even Matt Hardy. Hardy's inclusion drew serious heat from purists, which only fueled the story further. Bringing in a former WWE name to help destroy ROH from within wasn't just controversial. It was exactly the kind of button-pushing SCUM thrived on. Their goal was simple. Take over ROH. Sabotage its matches. Corrupt its legacy. Make fans uncomfortable. For a stretch in 2013, it worked. SCUM injected pure chaos into the promotion, and their presence made every show feel unpredictable. Eventually, though, the group collapsed under its own weight and was disbanded in storyline. The mission failed, but the message stuck. SCUM was messy. It was aggressive. At times it was bloated and directionless. But in its best moments, it captured a rare feeling. It made Ring of Honor feel like it was truly on the edge of disaster. And that made for damn good storytelling. Final Verdict: 7.5/10 SCUM wasn't just a stable. It was a middle finger to everything ROH fans thought they knew about their company. It was heat, violence, and rebellion, wrapped in barbed wire and ready to burn everything down. |

26 | 24.03.2013 | jchiofal | 10.0 | And yet again, an indie show has the best stable in professional wrestling. SCUM is a fantastic stable. They became legitimized because of the championships they held, along with their leading holding the heavyweight championship. Combine that with a great roster of veterans from RoH, and various other promotions, and you have a great force to be reckoned with. In addition to this, Steve Corino on a microphone, and just Matt Hardy's presence makes the group the most hated stable in pro wrestling today. |
