| 9 | 25.02.2026 | StringsRollins | 8.0 | A true survivor. Dustin Rhodes is living proof that you can sink to the lowest depths of addiction and still pull yourself out (though I also want to credit the people who helped him out of course) to redefine your entire career. I'm not really one to put much stock in the concept of a "legacy" as that's often a crutch used by people who once did good things a long time ago and then held desperately onto the little scraps of goodwill for the rest of their lives while acting like they're some sort of authority on any given subject (Cornette, Bischoff, Russo, etc) and that thinking tends to bother me. Dustin instead chose a more humble and risky route after nearly dying in TNA, coming back into the fold as Goldust but replacing the provocative aspects of his original character with really fucking great in-ring work and shocking athleticism for a former drug washout in his forties. All the younger wrestlers were really pushing up the workrate standards across the entire industry around this point and time and it was really telling now much of the old guard simply could not adapt or keep up with this. Dustin could, though. He started pulling out all sorts of really amazing moves without compromising his more fundamental solid old school psychology and his conditioning was super impressive to watch. And he could still cut great promos. After not being used in the WWE much after 2014 despite his consistently great work he took an even bigger risk in joining his younger brother Cody in a fledgling promotion called All Elite Wrestling so they could have the high profile brother versus brother match that they'd pitched WWE as a WrestleMania match only to get thrown onto some random C-tier show while Cody was deep in his awful Stardust gimmick. That risk paid off when the brothers, after so many great promos in the build up, delivered what is still one of the most emotionally charged wrestling matches of all time on the first Double or Nothing show in 2019. Both brothers were fantastic in the match, and Cody got to show a truly vicious side that he never really got to portray in the WWE, but the heart of the match was Dustin's performance. He was a true babyface who never gave up until the end when he simply couldn't go anymore, battered and bloody from fighting someone younger and more physically impressive than him, clearly imformed by his life experiences from going through the hell of addiction and surviving that. The post-match promo from Cody had me crying as an older sibling whose main bonding point with their little brother growing up was a shared bond of professional wrestling. It really hit home for me. Since then, Dustin has still been putting on good matches in AEW even if he's not quite at the level he was a few years ago. His legacy is that he survived professional wrestling. Not many others from his era can say that. He also seems like a lovely person who fiercely loves his transgender kid, and as a non-binary transperson myself that really is just the bow that ties this all together for me. I'm conflicted on my final score a bit because I can't really ignore the awful periods of his career despite how much I've just spent praising him in the wall of text prior to this summary- Black Reign and TAFKA Goldust truly are as awful as people have harped on about on so many different places on the internet- but I think a pretty strong eight is a valid arbitrary number to assign to my overall comment here. Keep on surviving, Dustin. |

Someone that praises his job, able to do whatever it is necessary to put himself into a higher level and everyone else alongside with him. His AEW run is widely regarded as the best run of his career, his match with Cody still is one of the best matches of the promotion history and he deliver some good bouts when they pushed him to do it. |

He's spent the last few years competing, helping to guide younger talent like Sammy Guevera and the Von Erichs through the business, while also running an academy. |

As Goldust, he broke barriers with a bold, provocative character that pushed WWE's boundaries long before it was common. But Dustin's true strength lies in his longevity and in-ring storytelling--smooth, believable, and emotionally charged. Whether working as a bizarre enigma, a gritty veteran, or simply himself, Dustin always brought credibility and heart. His late-career resurgence in AEW has shown the world that even after decades, he could still deliver classics when it mattered most. A true ring general who never needed a title to be elite....but damn you TNA for not giving him the NWA title |

He obviously had a lot of issues in life, so there are a lot of dark periods in his career, but when he gave it is all, his work was amazing. I'm happy to see that he seems to have straightened out his life. I think his current role of a mentor in AEW is a great place for him, and it's always a pleasure to watch him now that he's sober. Aside from being one of the greatest gimmicky/comedy wrestlers of all-time, he was capable of putting on absolute bangers. The fact that most of his best matches in his career came in his later years is super impressive, and a testament to him truly being a natural. |

He's currently tearing it up on RoH in my favorite tag team called the Sons of Texas along with his talented younger partner Sammy Guevara. Dustin Rhodes is surprisingly good in the ring and in great physical shape despite his age and he can wrestle intense fast paced matches. |

| 62 | 31.03.2025 | Havoc Rave | 7.0 | Goldust is fine, clearly had his good and a difficult time, Goldust was always a scandalous proposal, one of the first personalities in showing themes and characteristics of the actitude was, his blonde wig, Marlena taking him to the ring as if it were a dog and giant robe was a combination never seen before. Sadly Dustin could not keep Goldust for a long time, in actitude it was the standards of perversion had changed, Goldust was simply another irreverent. And he had to do something else to highlight, and that's why Tafka was born, a version of Dustin ... different, this time, Goldust was not scandalous, he was sincerely disgusting. The original Goldust was quirky but not unpleasant to view, another bad moment is Black Reign, it seemed a copy of Goldust, and it is at this time that Dustin's life is at its worst time. Dustin is currently quite good in AEW, it's not his prime, but he looks very good. |

The perfect example of the great old school character that absolutely did aged well. Goldust could have had more titles and accomplishments, but it doesn't change the fact that he had a great and inspiring career. Goldust/Dustin isn't just a wrestler from the past, he had also wonderful moments later, including winning the tag titles with Cody against The Shield, and finally going to AEW, having one of the most emotional match (with Cody again). |

He was 50 when he had that classic match with Cody and that was one of the best matches I have seen happened in American soil. He probably won't ever win a World Championship which is a shame but this guy is a legit Hall of Famer. One of the few things I am thankful for AEW is that we get to see how great he is after years of being misused by WWE. |

| 92 | 27.11.2024 | AceHagann | 7.0 | Somehow managing to make a questionable gimmick, not only work, but also keeping it for years upon years, is no small feat. While Dustin is not the greatest worker, his skill and dedication to the art is still commendable. His time in AEW highlights this. |
| 93 | 21.11.2024 | Dntbamark | 8.0 | Fantastic performer who was saddled with a difficult and controversial gimmick early on and did everything in his power to make it memorable and have staying power. I mean, who would have thought that Goldust, an androgynous character that you'd think would have died off in the 90s would be wrestling well into the late 2010s? It's a testament to Rhode's work and ability to make the character adapt and evolve. While Dustin would try and move away from the character and do his own thing, it didn't really resonate with the fans and he would eventually return to "The Bizarre One." As a pro wrestler, in my opinion, Dustin has shown time-and-time again he's a more than capable in-ring performer. Even as the years have gone by, Dustins skills have yet to show signs of slowing down. On top of that, he's an unselfish performer, never showing himself to be above working with the young guys or working in ROH. I can't put into words how much I admire Dustin Rhodes as a competitor and as a person. |
