[8.0] "Orange Cassidy came to my house, put a banana in the tailpipe of my granny's '83 Wagon Queen Family Truckster, put laxative in my dog's food, took my sister out to dinner and didn't pay and left her at the restaurant, borrowed $50 from my dad for gas but bought weed instead, stole a pair of my mother's underwear and still has my copy of Double Dragon II on NES. That's not the worst of it, this guy PUT HIS HANDS IN HIS POCKETS DURING A MATCH AND ISN'T 275 POUNDS OF MUSCLE! That's where I draw the line, brother!"

[3.0] "Orange Cassidy is a scrawny dork in a jean jacket who should really be used as nothing more than a jobber. Impossible to take someone like this seriously. Darby Allen is scrawny too but at least he is engaging. I simply can't cheer for a guy who acts like he doesn't care and looks like I could beat him up. This stale gimmick has long run it's course. Surely Cassidy has more to offer but then again he can't cut a good promo to save himself."

[8.0] "You either love OC or you don't. Me, I think he's great fun, especially when paired with Roddy Strong. I don't really see him as a future world champion or anything, but I think he's carved out a perfect mid-to-uppercard niche where he's beloved by fans, especially younger ones."

[0.0] "I could not care less about Orange Cassidy. I don't care what people say I'm not taking skinny guy who put his hands in his pockets and lightly kick you. Like I get it's a joke he pretends not to care but suddenly he moving around. That's not wrestling it's a stupid joke that horrible. He is one of the worst acts going on AEW television. I just don't get Tony Khan love for this man. He doesn't really have that look of a world champion. To me he always the worst part of a match always for me honestly because when every serious match has to stop so everybody can admire the routine, it seriously gets annoying and boring."

[9.0] "Consistently one of the best parts of AEW programming, IF you're someone who can allow themselves to enjoy pure fun wrestling and not take it super seriously all the time, which, luckily for me, I can. Don't go into an OC match expecting a masterpiece, but instead just enjoy the unfiltered goofiness that he brings."

"ORANGE CASSIDY IS DOING THE SAME JOKE AGAIN AND SOMEHOW PEOPLE STILL ACT LIKE THIS IS A REVOLUTION! Yes I understand the point! He is pretending not to care and then suddenly he moves fast! The lazy kicks can be funny with the right crowd, but when every serious match has to stop so everybody can admire the routine, it feels like the wrestler is holding the story hostage until the audience applauds the reference. He is clearly talented. That almost makes it MORE annoying because the actual wrestling is usually good once the comedy finally gets out of the doorway. His timing is sharp, his movement is clean, and he knows exactly when the crowd wants the acceleration. So WHY pretend the joke is the whole meal when the guy can actually cook? Use the attitude to reveal something different! Let the laziness cost him! Let it change! Right now I am not angry because he lacks skill. I am angry because the skill keeps wearing the same Halloween costume!"

[9.0] "Orange pretty much always finds a way to tweak his shticks just enough to fill fresh. Great character and in-ring work, his International title reign and final match vs Mox were amazing. He really is hardest working guy in roster ironically, so I'm glad peple start to appreciate him more."

[9.0] "Alot of people shit on OC because they don't understand him. When you embrace it, and allow yourself to enjoy OC, you will understand that he is one of the best in ring workers currently. He has the movement and the power of a top tier guy, but relegates himself to being a midcarder, who has pins over some of the best in the company. If you need proof that OC is an actual wrestler, watch his international title reign, where he defends it basically every week. So underrated as a wrestler, people need to respect OC."

[10.0] "Is it crazy that I think this guy's one of the best wrestlers in the world today? I dunno, it's not just that he's really funny and that he's a really good wrestler, I honestly think he's got everything about the business nailed down. His phycology's top-notch, to the point where in more intense matches, you can't tell whether his sloth-like attitude his him being genuinely weary or playing mind games with his opponents. I think it says a lot that he's been able to rise up as one of AEW's most beloved superstars off the back of a comedy gimmick."

[10.0] "It takes a very skilled professional wrestler to be able to successfully execute a lazy gimmick, and OC is by far the best to ever attempt it. The athleticism and experience he has is evident in how smooth he flies around, with or without his hands in his pockets. I think a lot of people get confused with where the gimmick ends and the person begins and see him as clumsy and boring, but his moves are very believable and he pulls off very complicated sequences cleanly."

[6.0] "Orange Cassidy's stock has been declining for a good while. He can still wrestle a good match but is nowhere near as appealing as he once was in 2023. I hope we get that version of him back soon or he may just need a change."

[3.0] "Cassidy ain't it. The gimmick is absurd, his ring work is sloppy and honestly looks like he's untrained. Can't cut a promo or make me care about him in any way. I'm not gonna go zero because he does posses some athleticism, but he looks out of place in the ring with actual wrestlers. He doesn't have any natural charisma. I don't know what else to say. If you like him, good on you I guess. At his age I don't see him making any major improvements."

[8.0] "Orange Cassidy is an excellent wrestler, if you watch him wrestle for the first time, he will absolutely exceed your expectations. He's not a promo guy, he tells most of his stories in the ring. Not to say he can't cut a promo, he absolutely can, it just isn't really his character. His character is also very strong, if i could critique it, it's just gotten stale as of late, and we need something to elevate it. Characters that don't evolve, become stale overtime, I can't tell you how much about how OC has evolved from his first year of AEW to now. Other than that, he's very good, and could get over in any wrestling company, because of his charisma, 7.5/10"

[10.0] "We've yet to see something OC can't do as a wrestler. He's had comedy matches, has entered the chaos of Blood & Guts, and has been involved in some of the best singles matches in AEW hanging with the likes of Will Ospreay, PAC & Jon Moxley. He's likely to never hold the World Championship, but his 31 title defenses as International Champion is a record that will likely never be broken. Do we always get him in peak form? No, but when he's ready to go - he can hold his own with the best of the best, he will be an AEW staple for years to come, and the wrestling industry is better for OC being around."

[4.0] "A comedy gimmick that was personally never funny to me, it neverthless must be pointed out that Orange cassidy did get over and successful which is basically the aim of being a pro wrestler. I cannot understand why he should ever be taken seriously even in the context of kayfabe but as long as theres an audience for it I guess it works. He has had a few average matches and seems to be a good enough guy in terms of moves and other in ring stuff."

"It's unbelievable what the "creative" team has done to this dude. His best days were when he was the all atlantic champion, he was respected, he was maintaining his essence but having 5+ star matches. Now this completely unfunny and not a single bit entertaining character is what his haters always called him just "pockets". Now he's just the "Waltz Pockets". Bad for Toni as well. I'm completely disappointed with AEW in this aspect. Are they going to introduce mixed titles or are they doing this just because they don't know what to do with him? Everytime he appears on my screen with Toni my blood starts boiling. They killed a potential star. Shame on you TK."

[9.0] "Some of the thougest guys to rate. Like, I can talk a lot about his AEW time but that would be only five years of his twenty year long run. So, talking for what I SAW, Orange Cassidy is one of the most underrated wrestlers in the business, has a gimmick that nobody does and if you ask someone to do something near close, it will be straight up garbage. He make it looks cool, had an great mid card run with the International Title and some of his matches against dudes like Moxley, Ospreay and ZSJ felt special and legendary for me. Don't see him as a world title level wrestler, never did."

[5.0] "I can give him credit for coming up with a unique gimmick that is entertaining in its own way but that's about it. I have little reason to care about his matches other than that he has an unusual gimmick. I can't be fully interested if it doesn't matter to me whether he wins or loses within the contexts of the storylines."

[5.0] "I'm mixed Orange Cassidy. On one hand, he's a solid wrestler with a basic gimmick that's fun, but on the other hand, he lets the gimmick he represented in his matches way too much. Also, is it me or is he one of the indestructible wrestlers in AEW history? I mean, you can't keep this guy down half the time"

Anyone who says he does the "hand in the pocket thing too much" is simply someone who has never watched his matches. For most of these matches OC is working his a** off and absolutely deserves more respect in the IWC"

[8.0] "The guy is an enigma. Simple as that. He's just fun and always a joy to watch. He also knows when to get serious and has put on some truly incredible matches including his matches against PAC, Ospreay, Moxley, Shibata, his triple threat with Omega and Pac, etc. I also love 'Where Is My Mind' for his theme. He's the type of wrestler that won't be given his flowers until he retires. Overall just a great wrestler that exceeds any role he's given through main events, midcard, tag, trios, stipulation. Orange Cassidy is cool."

[0.0] "This will be my first 0 on the site. For me, Orange Cassidy has one of the worst gimmicks ever, to the point of making any of his matches unwatchable. Every time he's in the ring, it's a sign of something boring, unconvincing, and unfunny, and often even insulting to pro wrestling its about to happen. For me, the biggest problem is the way he's booked, constantly involved in matches with relevant and important names, when his entire character should be limited to being a jobber, and at the very best, an irrelevant mid-card performer. It's insulting to me that this "clown" character has already had several competitive matches against Moxley, Wardlow, Adam Page, ZSJ, Swerve, and Ospreay. It's the same as Goldust having competitive matches against The Rock, HHH, Undertaker, Stone Cold - LOL. Is he competent enough to do that? Yes, but it makes 0 sense to the carachter. I think, overall, he's a competent wrestler, with a character that could be useful for some comic relief, but is taken too seriously. TOO MUCH indeed. All respect to the human being behind the wrestler, but as a character, for me, he's one of the worst things we've ever had."

[7.0] "No one can doubt his commitment to the gimmick, and yes, he maybe crosses the line into novelty comedy act. Then again, this is 'rasslin. Don't mind him really and he can certainly go. Took a brutal 20 minute beating from Moxley in dropping the Int title at All Out 23. Must be said that his offence is weak, both his Tornado DDT & Stunner are heavily assisted. The Superhero punch is never anything less than candy arsed. Even for a 400 pounder. Was definitely over used for ages doing the underdog routine weekly and less is maybe more at this point. He's fine in moderation."

[9.0] "Orange Cassidy is fantastic. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. He mixes the comedy aspects in with his actual wrestling skills so well. An ultimate workhorse too. The perception of this guy has been totally screwed by people who don't watch anything outside of 10 second clips."

"A complete embarrassment to professional wrestling. AEW giving him a spot near the top brings down their credibility. Comedy is subjective but I never found this amusing outside his first appearance."

[9.0] "Orange Cassidy is a great mixture of a comedy gimmick and outstanding athleticism when he decides 'he's gonna try'. His International Title run was an outstanding spotlight to his abilities as a performer while remaining impressively consistent with his character work. OC sticks out as 1 of 1, something that becomes harder to do every year the wrestling world progresses."

[8.0] "I mean come on... He's like fresh air in dirty atmosphere, not so much wrestlers can do what he can and he desorves even more, but comic charecter closing him up on some opportunities. Maybe in the future, He's still only 41"

[8.0] "Orange Cassidy is one of the most unique performers of the modern era. What started as a comedy gimmick became a movement -- blending satire with genuinely solid in-ring ability. His "King of Sloth Style" persona might seem like a joke on the surface, but under that denim jacket is a workhorse who consistently delivers on big stages, especially in AEW. His matches against guys like PAC, Will Ospreay, and Jon Moxley showed he can go when it matters. Some fans might not vibe with the gimmick-heavy style, but there's no denying his impact, creativity, and crowd connection. "Freshly Squeezed" isn't just a nickname -- it's a brand."

[0.0] "Cassidy is a comic relief character. Which is fine. But he's treated seriously in AEW. He had an International title run with loads of defenses and challenges twice for the world title. Maybe I'm the one who's not getting it but.... He's a COMEDY Act and should be treated as one. He'd do a good enough job at that. But they actually have him go out there 20 minutes with a lot of the top stars. He's not a good worker in the ring. How am I supposed to take someone seriously as a Main Eventer when they've lost to a guy who wrestles with his hands in his pocket. I really don't get it. Not the wrestling and definitely not the gimmick. He could be fun as a manager or an out of the ring act. But Orange Cassidy should not be a top star, or hell even mid card star in any serious wrestling promotion."

[8.0] "My Rating 8.2 Fire ant is a worker (pun intended). I find Orange Cassidy's gimmick fun at some times but most of the time I feel like it has been over used. I think with his wrestling abilities and physicality he wouldn't really need such a huge gimmick."

[8.0] "Whether or not I enjoy the act, he's insanely over and very talented. Eventually the act will wear thin and he'll have to do something else, but he's killing it in every aspect right now"

[8.0] "A good solid wrestler who can hang well with great workers, but often falls a bit flat with lesser opponents, even if his comedy repertoire helps there. All time great gimmick that will be remembered for decades. Doesn't talk too much, but can give a decent promo when needed."

[9.0] "Probably the most underrated worker in the industry today. This guy can work with anyone. He is the king of selling. He's second to none at working from underneath and stealing a win believably. He has a decent move set that he could undoubtedly expand a little. He's recently added a little bit of weight and muscle and gotten a little more serious with his gimmick which helps the character as well. To bad he tore his peck and we likely won't see him for another half a year."

[9.0] "One of the absolute best in the world right now. His run with the International Championship was legendary. Fantastic gimmick as well that truly resonates with the millennial spirit, while creating a unique psychology that gives a beautiful variety to every show he's on. Variety is the spice of life. Whether in a comedic match or a 20-minute sprint, Orange Cassidy wrestle, and always is over with the crowd. Always. What's not to love about this guy?"

[9.0] "Orange Cassidy is the workhorse of AEW and is a great product for them. I really enjoy his character work and have been quite invested in the development of his character to be more than just the lazy guy with his hands in his pockets. I most enjoyed his run as International Champion and hope he continues to be a mainstay of AEW. My only gripe is that I think he should get a better finisher rather than the Orange Punch, it feels like after the match he had with Hangman that was the burial of it and now it looks weak. Maybe he could adopt a submission or really just anything better. Still one of my favorite wrestlers."

[5.0] "very gimmicky. his Superman punch is terrible, and he weighs less than many of the lasses, just not a believable move to knock out the people he is fighting. He has had some fun matches though especially the last couple of years in the promotion, or I have gotten more tolerable. Just not a fan of his over-gimmicky, silly stuff he does. not for me. Not good on the mic either but can hide that well with his "gimmick""

[8.0] "Orange Cassidy rules. Lots of people will try to discredit him by going, "Oh! He's too goofy! " "How can I take that crap seriously? " And to that, I ask: Do you remember the Attitude Era? It was filled with unserious gimmicks/acts up and down the card, with even the top guy getting being a drunk Southerner. So no, I don't wanna hear any complaints about the comedic nature of Orange Cassidy, as there's always been a place for funny in wrestling -- and that's the under card. I don't think he should be a main eventer, given the gimmick he's got. But that doesn't mean he can't fill the role like that of a Mankind."

[10.0] "One of my favorite wrestlers to watch. People write him off as a gimmick wrestler, but he always delivers in the ring and connects with the fans. His International title reign (the first one) in my opinion was one of the best title reigns in AEW history. Orange is the real deal."

[8.0] "I'm not a huge fan of comedy wrestling, but I have a lot of respect for Orange Cassidy, I think the guy is great, very entertaining, and brought some unique style and skits to the wrestling television, to a point he became the workhorse of AEW, which is ironic, because his gimmick is supposed to be lazy, he claims to be the king of sloth style, but wrestles more than everyone else. Orange Cassidy's moveset is amazing and he has the ability to put a great match against opponents of every style imaginable, his character has some limitations because of the gimmick choice, but that's who he tries to be and I think it's awesome. OC is a wrestler that I could easily dislike, but I love him, he's probably the wrestler that I like the most from styles that I'm not a huge fan, and that's because his timings are sensational, he walks into a thin line incredibly well, and becomes a legit threat when he wants to. His match structure is generally great, a lot of smart stuff, and he's a hell of an underdog, one of the best underdog babyfaces ever without a doubt."

[9.0] "In my review of Eddie Kingston, I said that the man from Yonkers was a brilliant litmus test on whether you're an actual fan or you prefer to get your takes on wrestling from over-the-hill podcasters. And so it is with Orange Cassidy. Seriously, you can pretty much tell if someone's worth listening to by seeing whether they call him "Pockets". Because, honestly, him being in the single digits on Cornette's Public Enemy List is more sour grapes than anything, because Cornette as a booker could never get somebody as over as OC. The "sloth style" antics never seem to get old, which is a marvel, and it's bolstered by his fiery intensity when the switch flips and he becomes the reluctant hero a story often needs. Just watch the Blood Orange matches against Moxley, his Ospreay match, or the Pac/Kenny matches, and you'll see one of the most impressive workers in the business."

[10.0] "Orange Cassidy is brilliant. His talent explodes late given his age but better late than never. He is a perfect mix of talent in the ring and an excellent gimmick. Since the beginning of AEW the character has been the same and I never get tired of him as he always manages to create exciting situations and incredible rivalries. Under his nonchalant airs, when necessary he can do crazy things and gives his all. His match against Zack Saber Jr demonstrated it, he could have been content to let himself be guided by Zack's genius but no he shone just as much as him and followed the pace and style without problem. The best reign of an international champion. In short, an excellent wrestler and I thank AEW for introducing this nugget to the whole world."

[3.0] "This guy is cheesy af. I can't take him seriously as a wrestler. I prefer not to watch his matches, even against fantastic workers. I find him that irritating. It's not heat either, just total indifference. There are so many great wrestlers out there that deserve a break. Yet somehow someone thought this guy was more deserving. If he focused more on trying to wrestle a good match, and less on gmmick and being funny, then maybe he could be taken a bit more seriously. Some like his schtick, but real old school wrestling he is not. I don't know I'd even call him a wrestler, more like a comic relief."

"Big fan of this guy. His style is fun. F. U. N. Fun. He doesnt show the worlds most athletic moves but certainly has a ton of athleticism to pull of what he does best look silky smooth."

[9.0] "Great worker, all time legendary character, can cut a pretty darn good promo. Versatile as hell, but most impressively has built up this character with one of the most consistent ids in wrestling history, and a great match catalogue to go with it. He connects with the audience incredibly well. If his character isn't for you, fine, but its a lot of pro wrestling fun"

[7.0] "Orange Cassidy's shtick isn't for everybody. That said, he's still a solid talent who has connected with a wider audience as one of the most iconic AEW wrestlers who weren't famous from WWE, TNA, NJPW, etc. He wrestles well, and his weak promo game is forgivable due to his gimmick. There is a lot of things he can do with the current gimmick to avoid being stale, yet Orange Cassidy has had a great run in AEW thus far. At the very least, he's a good midcarder who stands out from the sea of forgettable wrestlers across numerous companies."

[2.0] "Um All I can say that he has dope shades. Another thing is his cool sense of themes. Small as an ant marching one by one. Heraw. Whatever... I guess. Why does he wear jeans? Um. Im not a fan at all, I mean he cannot do the stundog better than Mark Andrews. He seems so over pushed for absolutely no reason whatsoever other than him being cozy with the millionaire boss. Him vs Will Ospreay was his best feud and uhhhhhh yea, he is from wherever, weighting in whatever, meet him at who cares. OC woohoo dont care."

[9.0] "Theres more to Orange Cassidy than just the sunglasses and denim. Beneath those layers of nonchalant coolness lies a true wrestler. A masterful technician, OC can hang with the best of the best and has proven time and time again that he belongs in this business. One of the most favored wrestlers in the AEW roster, he can do it all. He can whoop your ass with his hands in his pockets. With OC, less is more and it speaks volumes for him. To me he is the quintessential babyface of AEW. He is someone the kids could look up to. Isnt afraid to get his hands dirty (or bloody). His first reign as All Atlantic/International champion was legendary. This specific reign helped raise that belt to new heights and gave it a prestige so strong that it elevated the International belt into the second most important title in AEW. Even with that said, he can still be a polarizing figure. Hes not everyones cup of tea and thats okay. This is what pro wrestling is all about. Versatility and variety. Always reliable to kick off a show and fire the crowd up. When his back is against the wall, his intensity is unreal. Honestly, I didnt really understand the guy. I always wondered why people admired him so much. Then it hit me. If you pay close attention, youll see someone that embodies the meaning of pro wrestling. A true entertainer and an excellent hand in the ring. Please check out his matches with Ospreay and Zack Sabre Jr. his gimmick might be carefree and aloof, but theres a lot of heart there. Once you peel back the layers, youll really understand."

[10.0] "He's my favorite wrestler, pretty much. I won't lie - I find his in ring work SUPER entertaining, his plights and story arcs compelling, and I admire so much his commitment to character (gimmick) that he adheres to pretty much 24/7. If I could rate higher than a ten, I probably would. Haters just don't like fun."

[9.0] "The incorporation of comedy into Orange Cassidy's character is so warm, fun, and delightful. I love wrestlers who can show us every thing wrestling can be. It can be brutal and bloody, it can be athletic and acrobatic, it can be funny or heart breaking or romantic, it can make you feel anything that any kind of art can make you feel. I have fun every time OC is on tv, he is such an amazing babyface. He is completely underrated in his ability to bring in new fans and how much kids and women like him. A monopoly of american wrestling for 20 years has taught lots of people a very narrow vision of what professional wrestling can be and I think it's refreshing to see something different that doesn't fit what Vince McMahon wanted. Orange's commitment to kayfabe is rivaled only by MJF in the modern game. He wrestles his character, he cuts promo in character, his social media presence, his twitch stream, it's all in character. That tilt a whirl DDT makes me pop every time. His ability to play off of others, the long term story telling. His match against Mox at All Out 2023 is my favorite match I've ever watched. His reigns as International Champion elevated that belt to the level that Mox, Ospreay, and MJF want to hold it. The jansport, the sunglasses, the denim joggers, his hatred of taking a chop, it all builds to a fully realized character. His 20 year+ career has culminated in him headlining PPVs and reliably putting on great matches week after week. A true shame they never put the trios belt on him and the best friends. Made me fall back in love with wrestling and for that I'll be forever grateful."

[8.0] "A workhorse with criminally underrated in ring skill and a hell of an entertainer. In the 5 years of AEW he over 200 matches alog with holding the record for most title defenses in AEW history at 30 defenses. He dosen't do to many promos, and I can see the reasoning for finding his matches boring and formulaic, but I think it's awesome. His matches with Shibata, Ishii, and Jon Moxley are some his best matches in that reign and some of my personal favorites. Not world champion material but still great."

[10.0] "Orange Cassidy is one of the best wrestlers on the planet, one of the very few gems that combines great in ring work with character work, he is one of the most nuanced characters in all of wrestling, with so many different layers, and works every crowd, that is a statement, his many classic matches speak for themselves"

"Orange Cassidy has a corny gimmick that makes me cringe every time he comes on TV. I think the only thing going for him is his theme. Other than that he shouldnt be featured on tv, comedy character or not."

[4.0] "Safe to say Orange Cassidy belonged to the likes of Ryusuke Taguchi, Toru Yano and R-Truth as a comedian wrestler who relies on comic relief to entertain the people and to be frank, we have enough of those already. His goofy character totally killed and ruined the mystique of pro-wrestling in entirety. No doubt his matches are entertaining, but not to the point of being competitive. He somewhat has skills if they managed to make him serious. Just don't like the Orange Punch as one of his signature moves, it felt unrealistic for the guy who is like 5'9 and around 160 lbs. Like hardcore wrestlers, comedian wrestlers are not my thing and therefore receives a low rating for me. His gimmick being aloof and carefree is somewhat unique though, the major problem here is they overindulge his character to the point that he is just becoming a joke. Sadly, OC needs to have a gimmick repackaging if they wanted him to be a serious competitor just like "Scapegoat" Jack Perry in which is a massive character improvement from being a horrendous Jungle Boy. It will be the biggest blunder if they made him a world champion with that persona."

[3.0] "I used to love OC when he was still Fire Ant in CHIKARA. The character, the moveset, The Colony; it was all incredible. But since he focused on being Orange Cassidy he became a joke in my eyes. He makes professional wrestling look like a joke, which I can't respect. It's sad to see someone you used to admire disrespect one of the things you love most in life. The insistence of promoters and fans on him is something I can't understand. But truth be told, he can still be interesting when he at least tries to be serious, which is the only reason my rating isn't 0."

[6.0] "Orange Cassidy is alright, he's capable of putting on a good match and his nonchalant gimmick is incredibly fun. He's the only guy I could say is capable of pulling that off, hands in pockets + tiny kicks is just brilliant and really suits him as a character. BUT... he's just the kind of guy who is only good at being a midcard wrestler, there to make you laugh and go "wow" whenever he does a good move, will not be a main event talent in wrestling."

[9.0] "Always amazing to watch, have loved him since the Fire Ant days! Love his style, and seems an all round good egg."

[1.0] "Orange Cassidy's gimmick is seriously not for me. What makes a good wrestling match, in my mind, is when the wrestlers put on a performance that makes it believable that they actually want to hurt each other. In the case of Orange Cassidy, everyone he loses to looks terrible because they were somehow unable to pin someone down for three seconds when he had his hands in his pockets for most of the match. Comedy wrestling can be good when the person working the gimmick is an actual underdog, but not when they are winning week in and week out. In every Orange Cassidy match the joke is actually on the audience, the message being conveyed is "look how phoney we can make this and you chumps won't change the channel." If I attended an indie show, and was one of 30 total people in the crowd and this was the slop they expected to shovel down our throats I would want my money. I don't hate the actual person, he is making a living and doing the things that a certain segment of the wrestling audience wants to see. Just keep it off of my TV, thank you."

[1.0] "Absolutely horrendous imitation of a wrestler. No sensible character work, idiotic no selling, not fun or funny and makes wrestling look like a childish act. This character and presentation with spot based wrestling without any build may work on the indies but there shouldn't be any room for this crap on national television. There is only "I'm acting like I'm cool but I'm not actually and that's supposed to be fun" attitude and move on move on move action that nobody gets any f'n damage from until the pinfall in every match of this dude, it's a shame that this guy held a title in a major promotion that has countless talent is just sad, it vould've elevated someone can actually help wrestling in the future. But people seem to like it unfortunately and I'll throw my only point for that undeserved popularity, he's just a disgrace for this business and it's legends."

[9.0] "Orange Cassidy may be the Platonic ideal of an upper-midcard babyface. The unique gimmick both makes him stand out and helps keep the fans from giving up on him when he doesn't rise up to the main event. More importantly though, he is an excellent worker that can have a great match in a variety of styles. He is a great seller with excellent fire when working from underneath. He can keep up with the high work-rate guys. His comic timing is perfect for party matches. A great performer, booked in the right position."

[10.0] "It really shouldn't be shocking that the guy that was Fire Ant in chikara found a way to take a strange gimmick and mega get over. OC is one of the highlights of every AEW show that he's on, and the fact he's taken what could've easily been a one-note joke and turned it into a fully flesh out fire-in-the-eyes babyface (...presuming you tick him off enough to get his hands out of his pockets) is a huge testament of both his in-ring work and mic work. I still think his break out match with Pac at Revolution 2020 is one of the all time greatest comedy matches, and there's a rivalry I hope never ends. Anyone that says a man that can kip up with his hands in his pockets isn't athletic cannot be taken seriously. You know who you can take seriously, though? The sleepy guy that does it."

[8.0] "I do feel bad about me being exposed to Orange Cassidy solely through his AEW run, but I guess I'm gonna talk about him anyway. On the surface level, Orange Cassidy is just a comedy wrestler. But to me, he stands out so much more than just being a comedy wrestler. His personality is incredibly hilarious because of its manifestations. It's very funny when he's being a sloth and it is even more when he's actually trying to wrestle seriously because he is very good at that. Ever since he captured the AEW International Championship for the first, he has been one of the best workhorses in all of AEW, and through his last days of his reign, he has proven to be a great babyface without compromising everything about his character, it's very cool that I could take seriously a promo that has "I don't have a catchphrase" as the defining line. I'm very interested to see what his character becomes, and I hope his wrestling abilities stay consistent."

[8.0] "Consistently epic every week he defends his belt with confidence, can be hilarious too, one of AEWs most consistent wrestlers on the roster"

[10.0] "Criminally underrated, even still now after the international title reign. Brilliant comedy worker, great chain wrestler, cool mix of indie style and lucha-inspired offense, and can get down and dirty and brawl when he needs to (the All In match and the All Out main event). Just connects with the fans on a level that allows him to be a huge workhorse as well. AEW can throw him out there against pretty much anyone and he will deliver a quality match, and against other good workers can have legitimately great ones. Has had some great promo moments as well, like in the feud with Mox and after the match with Pentagon ("my name is Orange Cassidy and I do not have a catchphrase.") A true joy to watch and follow as a fan of wrestling."

[10.0] "One of the best wrestlers on every show hes on. Orange can do a lot of things with his hands in his pockets that most other wrestlers could only dream of doing. Consistently puts on amazing matches night after night. Also has one of the best and funniest gimmicks in the sport."

[4.0] "He's a decent wrestler, but his gimmick is just so flat. It's just not funny or entertaining to see him repeating the same old shtick. He's like a comedian who has only one set. He is the most overrated wrestler on the roster, who gets pushed down our throats constantly. It's pretty obvious that OC's biggest fan sits backstage, and it feels like the International Title was only made for OC. That's why that title feels absolutely meaningless. If this would happen in any other company, people would be really mad. I think you could make his gimmick work, but he's way too overexposed, and he just can't do his shtick to everyone, or he'd make them look bad in the process. His prime in my opinion was when he teamed with Best Friends, and I do think it would be the best for everybody to go back that route."

"Slow in the ring and a gimmick that for me isn't funny but just annoying. My guys literally running around with his hands in his pockets and beating legit respected guys like Claudio, Moxley and Danielson. Move set and finisher aren't cracking at all, the fact he's categorised as a high flyer on here is crazy considering he just does the generic through the middle rope jumps and an elbow drop. Not for me, not ma cup of tea remotely. Sorry for the anomaly Cagematch! I don't understand why I need to justify myself further as this is my opinion so I shall include more characters here for your request....."

[6.0] "Orange Cassidy is the definition of Overexposed, He is on every show AEW has to offer and his schtick got boring quickly, IDK why he is being pushed on our television screen more than Wardlow, Ricky Starks, PowerHouse Hobbs, Serena Deeb Thunder Rosa, He is a comedy Wrestler so he should be treated like one but for some reason he is this unbeatable monster that can beat anyone of any size and it's kind of embaressing. If he ever changes himself to something newer then I might pay attention to him again."

[10.0] "Orange Cassidy is my favourite wrestler. He is the prefect wrestler to show to people who don't like wrestling. He is a simply great underdog who doesn't give a shit. He works well as comedy, but somehow works better when he is a somewhat serious babyface, he has one of the best title reigns in this century, if maybe not all time. He also the only wrestler to make me cry at wrestling. Amazing in ring with solid charisma."

"Orange Cassidy is a delight to watch work. His impressive in-ring skill is all the better with his lazy-comedy gimmick, makes his high-flying bouts all the cooler. Delayed gratification, it's fun to watch him get fired up, and he gets the crowd fired up too. Would like to see him tag with Chuck Taylor way more often on AEW, I think their balance makes both of their characters land a lot better. Orange needs that big brashness with all his calm-coolness, his best promos are the ones where he's got Chuck bouncing around him hyping him up in the background (if not doing most of the talking for him).... And it'd make us indy marks who were there for the Gentleman's Club happy. AEW seems to book him so randomly, it's a shame they won't give him more sensible arcs and stories. He's got a long independent career with great character work that AEW never pays homage to, like they do with so many others. His matches are some of the best for introducing people to pro-wrestling. It's easy to get invested, no matter how over he is, his size and gimmick give him that action-protagonist underdog charm. Also adapts very well to the opponent's gimmicks, and puts on some really creative matches. Even when he gets his ass kicked, he sells beautifully. His instincts as a performer set him above most of the AEW roster in my opinion. And you can't deny he's damn good looking. Makes him a great poster-boy for AEW, which is how they seem to use him. He deserves way more thought in how he's booked. It seems like they have him tag with whoever is workshopping their gimmick. Such as Danhausen when he first came to AEW, or Hook now that Team Taz is done and he needs new direction. Not knocking either of them, it's just such a waste to use this beloved hotshot as a babysitter. Seems like AEW wrote him off entirely for the comedy gimmick, he's so pigeonholed in it. They parade him around for the guaranteed pop at every show and the big merch sales, and they don't bother setting him up to do anything else. It's like his character is well-received by the general crowd, so they're scared to change him in any way. And it's gotten boring! TK, give that man a plotline or so help me. Anything. Best Friends get jealous about him tagging with others and they fight over it. Losing the belt shakes his confidence and that "he's gonna try" mantra gets challenged, maybe his friends have to build him back up before he tries again. He could even take the same gimmick to the heel side, his laziness being spun as some kind of apathetic selfishness, where he won't go out of his way for anyone. Or a BFs plus OC trio push! Their unofficial trio has been solid together since AEW began, it'd make sense for them to demand respect in that division and fight for the belts. ANYTHING!"

[9.0] "This is the wrestler that got me into wrestling. I can't remember what i thought of the sport before but it wasn't much, not in a negative way, but in the way that you dont think of the ports of a small town in maine if you dont live in the area. I caught on to him at the request of a friend back when he wrestled in the independent circuits back in 2019, I loved him then, and I loved him all the way into and through his AEW career. He has a way of telling a story in a match that before him I didnt know was possible, He's great at selling, really makes you feel every hit he takes, which makes him all the better a champion to watch rise above. I simply can't wait to see what he does next."

[6.0] "Let's start saying he is a very good wrestler, can move good in the ring and can always do his work. The reason of this low rating is his over-exposure by Tony Khan in this last year. I liked him when he was comedy gold, now he talks too much, breaking the meaning of his gimmick, and he doesn't have THAT type of charisma (not saying he doesn't have none because it would be a lie)"

[9.0] "Some people love Orange Cassidy's gimmick and others hate it. I for one think it's quite a clever gimmick. What I think isn't up for debate, is he is a very solid in ring worker. He's very over with kids and Gen Zers so some of the people who hate him need to remember that not every wrestler is meant to appeal to everyone, and Orange Cassidy is one of those wrestlers. Changing his gimmick would be such a terrible move because his gimmick is super over, and he would probably cool off if he was a wrestler who wrestles style character, because there's tons of people who do that and it isn't playing to his strong suits. Not everyone likes comedy gimmicks I guess, but there's a place for comedy wrestlers and it's not like he's written like WWE comedy wrestlers so I think he's doing great. (I added a point to his score in October 2023 for his stellar title reign with the international title from 8 to 9. Good work Orange! )"

[8.0] "orange absolutely understands story telling and how to construct a compelling match. Yes the comedy is present but that's just a part of his character and the subtlety with which he works. His entire arc in aew has been him slowly morphing into a guy that does care and wants a purpose and achievement, with character bits of the 'sloth' that pepper at genius moments. There are times when I do grow a bit weary if he is rolling out or whatever, amd feel he was featured too heavily during his first international reign which caused me fatigue."

[0.0] "Does absolutely nothing for me. His character was never really funny and it became annoying after while being the same jokd every time. He's been pushed unlike any other comedy wrestler ever probably, which has enabled him to showcase all his shortcomings in terms of storytelling ability, selling, and just generally conducting a coherent match. He looks terrible and unintimidating, and isn't even as athletically impressive as many of his colleagues, which kind of neutralizes what supposedly is his main strength. I might have been much more neutral to him if he wasn't shoved down everybody's throat, while appealing to a very niche section of wrestling audiences. I have tried more than once yo go see a match of his free of any skepticism but I just find him unbearably dull, and I feel like he's one of those performers that have literally no strong points. He represents everything I do not like about AEW, both in-ring and booking-wise"

[10.0] "Orange Cassidy, ever since winning the International Championship, has been consistently one of the best parts of AEW. He's a workhorse, he puts on consistently good title defenses every week, and made the title prestigious. Hopefully they keep up this momentum now that he's dropped the title, but Orange Cassidy is one of the most entertaining performers active today"

[10.0] "Orange Cassidy is improving day by day. He is capable of delivering emotions to the audience better than anyone else, and, most importantly, he is unique in his genre. He also possesses tremendous athletic abilities. He gave importance to the new International title."

[2.0] "I'll never understand the hype surrounding Orange Cassidy, most overrated wrestler to me, his reign as All Atlantic champion for me is a mystery, I just don't see him looking legitimate against anyone, the fact that he's beating clean stronger guys with his floppy moves, and unrealistic gestures is just not believable. If he was used as a comedy character like Danhausen, or something like that would be a much better position for him. His size is not the only problem, I just don't get his wrestling abilities at all, I never thought he was good in the ring honestly."

[5.0] "Cassidy can be athletic and smooth when he wants to, and I've previously appreciated the uniqueness of his "too cool to care" hustling gimmick with how he'll lure his opponents into a false sense of security and then surprise them with his big attacks out of nowhere. I used to really like this psychology because I thought that it allowed Cassidy's gimmick to be very funny and unique but without damaging the kayfabe of his matches *too* badly. The issue, however, is that Cassidy more or less relies on the same small handful of these "pretending to be lazy, JUST KIDDING" spots week after week and year after year, so you'd logically expect his opponents to finally learn the pattern of when they should and shouldn't attack him. But, for Cassidy's opponents to STILL remain as overly lenient to him as they are by giving him all the time he needs to complete his 'fake superkick' and 'hands in pockets' spots, is aggravating. For any well-adjusted adult athlete facing Cassidy, as soon as Cassidy does his first fake superkick to the ankles, his first childish slaps to the chest, or when he first starts raising his hands up, there's no legitimate reason his opponents couldn't begin to quickly strike him, lifted him up and slammed him with a power move, or at least apply a quick standing hold/submission. You also can't excuse these spots as Cassidy simply 'buying himself time', since I then ask: couldn't he equally buy himself time by raising his guard, taking a proper posture, or simply even running to the ropes/out of the ring? Those would also offer him far better defence compared to how he currently makes things VERY difficult for himself by leaving himself so obviously open to pull these little dance performacnes. These days, if Cassidy gets the better of an opponent despite these outrageous defensive errors, it just makes his opponents look totally idiotic. This wouldn't be so annoying if, again, he mixed up the variety of these spots that he uses to 'play possum' with, but it's become really boring seeing the same schtick executed in mostly the exact same ways week after week. I've definitely enjoyed the few times he will drop this gimmick because he's become so enraged or passionate about something, but that just comes and goes without ever having a meaningful effect on his long-term character, thereby meaning nothing. Cassidy's small size and the weak impact behind his various attacks also contribute to my issue with taking him seriously. His All-Atlantic/Intercontinental Title run was initially quite interesting as they told the story of his injuries growing but him still taking out all challengers, but now it's gone on for so long, yet with his injuries actually no longer affecting his performances nearly as detrimentally as they realistically should, that I just no longer care about the mystery of who will finally beat him. He's been so ridiculously over exposed week after week that I'm just looking forward to him going away."

[9.0] "Wer zur Hölle hätte gedacht, dass aus diesem Kerl so ein riesiger Star wird? Ich nicht. "[Will be 10 once account is old enough] Brilliant wrestler. He's able to adapt to any situation to highlight his opponent's style and end each match with both fighters looking strong. This also keeps his matches fresh and interesting, showcasing his storytelling abilities. AEW made a great move adding him as a producer."

[9.0] "When I first saw him, I didn't understand the gimmick, but after just a few matches on AEW, I got hooked on this guy. he just seems to "get it." He was Fire Ant in the past and I remember him being freaking entertaining in that role as well. He even doesn't really care if people understand the character or not. He's a comedic genius in the same vein as Chris Jericho, Mick Foley, Edge, Kurt Angle, Bryan Danielson, and even the master of comedy himself, Santino Marella. In other words, purists hate his "Whatever" attitude, while ring aficionados know that entertainment is a powerful tool. He also has had an UNBELIEVABLE reign as International Champion, as each time he defends it, I wonder "Is this the end of his reign? " He also flips the switch to the "WHOA NELLY! " setting to show that he deserved that belt. When he retires, I'll miss him, because in this day and age, his ability to captivate, entertain, and compete for real is a lost art."

[7.0] "As Orange Cassidy... this guy gets a 6.8/10 but wait a minute? , he was Fire Ant? ! Alright he's getting bumped up to a flat 7.0/10 just because Fire Ant was great. Orange Cassidy has had a strange career. An independent darling of sorts, that somehow became a huge favorite of one Tony Khan. The whole "king of sloth style" thing has really overstayed its welcome and some further development of freshly squeezed would be greatly appreciated. Does this man have a form of Autism? Why does he rarely talk? What is in his pockets? Is he sedated? Again a lot could be expanded here. Yet once we go beyond the tomfoolery and sunglasses, we have a really competent high flyer that can hold his own. There's a natural good guy quality to Orange Cassidy that people love, and if he toned down the pocket kicking he'd have a stronger presence. We get it, it's an odd iteration of Ryan Gosling in Drive, but the Driver Man had some depth to him. A little depth goes a long way, and I think the audience would appreciate something more serious. Returning to the in ring aspects, this guy can do a lot of hard work in the ring and tell a story well. As previously stated, Fire Ant was a pretty darn good wrestler. So yeah a 7.0/10 for Fire Ant, still a better worker than Kevin Nash, but maybe not as charismatic."

[10.0] "Listen, I'm a comedy wrestling person. I grew up on Chikara, I like a wrestling product with a variety of styles, I like to be entertained and let's not act like wrestling isn't inherently a little stupid to begin with. Plus, most great comedy wrestling (so not Santino Marella, but Colt Cabana, Kikutaro, Les Kellett) plays with the actual wrestling, by subverting your expectation when a sequence you've seen a million times before is suddenly deconstructed. For example both Cabana and Kikutaro like to play with the classic drop down leap frog sequence. You know your opponent's probably about to drop down, so why not stop and kick them in the head instead of skipping over them into the ropes? That makes sense, that's storytelling through the physical wrestling, it's getting the audience to react without having to hurt yourself, it's literally what old school ring psychology is all about. In Orange Cassidys case especially though, all the "this isn't the real art form" comments make little sense because his shtick was always presented as mental strategy. It's not breaking the illusion. More importantly, Orange Cassidy is one of the most creative in-ring storytellers going today, and actually a very old school one. Two examples. Remember that match with Ethan Page that was built around whether he'd be able to body slam him? Orange Cassidy got a body slam over and got the biggest possible reaction out of one of the most basic moves. Isn't that exactly what "old school" wrestling fans supposedly want? His International Championship title run has not only delivered great matches week in week out with a variety of different opponents, it has also told the story of how being a fighting champion gets to you, with Cassidy selling more and more body parts every week, and selling his ass off. "I'm really tired Renee." Again, exactly what great in-ring storytelling and getting the most out of your moves is about and exactly what old school wrestling fans supposedly want, except for some reason when it's done by Orange Cassidy."

[7.0] "He's a fantastic performer...but I can't help but feel that his booking is hurting him. He's supposed to be a slacker character, someone who doesn't care, yet he's been on an unbeatable run that would impress 2010's John Cena. The disconnect makes it hard to get into his matches, and the lack of character development that has happened to explain why he's all of the sudden, a badass killer, makes his whole run feel inauthentic"

[9.0] "It really should be talked about more just how unbelievably fluid Cassidy's style is. Every time I watch one of his matches, I'm always caught off guard by it. His International Title run has been insanely good."

[10.0] "His match performance in the first half of 2023 is nothing short of amazing for his career. He wrestle 4 stars match week in and week out. He becomes one of the face of AEW."

[8.0] "I'd like more variety in his move set. The stun dog millionaire is telegraphed every time but the guy can work. He is a character wrestler that a lot of people still want to see in the modern period and that deserves credit. He's consistent and dependable and gets the crowd going. Those who say he can't sell aren't watching the same guy. You can tell people love working with him because of this. So few wrestlers wrestle like their character but Cassidy absolutely does."

[10.0] "Legitimately, the hardest working man in AEW. This man has wrestled virtually every week for the better part of a year, and hasn't slowed down one bit. And he's a more-than-solid wrestler, ever since 2022 his title defenses have been stellar."

[9.0] "Incredible wrestler who at this point in 2023 is probably AEW's MVP. Can put on a solid match with any wrestler in the company and has gotten an unusual gimmick over on a big stage"

[10.0] "Orange Cassidy is a fantastic blend of all the aspects that make a good wrestler. He has a great personality with his lazy, laid back, and borderline absent-minded persona while still having a knack for tactics and mind games. He's incredible to watch in the ring, with graceful speedy movements, and memorable signature moves. And he does a superb job at making his opponents look good. Throughout his fights, despite his lazy attitude as part of his strategy, it frequently looks like Orange is being pushed to his absolute limits. And as a result, it makes his victories at the end, even when you see them coming, all the more satisfying due to how you can FEEL the work he's putting in. And of course, it helps makes the opponent look good as well as it shows just how much of a fight they put on for Cassidy."

[9.0] "Dude's a genius. He's a consistent workhorse in the company, putting on hard-fought battles while maintaining a uniquely hilarious character that never devalues either himself or his opponent. He has an amazing ability to shift between a serious and comedic personality as needed without ever making either side feel out of place. His moveset is fantastic and knows how to sell incredibly well, as seen in his fights with Cody, Buddy Matthews, Will Ospreay, and Vin Gerard. He's held the international title for a while now, but he's put on consistent bangers week in and week out, maintaining its status as the true workhorse title while elevating it higher than I could have ever expected."

[4.0] "I just don't really understand the Orange Cassidy gimmick. It was tolerable for a while but he should have evolved way past the pockets by now because the guy can work. As it stands he's just going to drift further and further down the card, getting pops from less and less people each week. A complete reinvention could catapult him because the ability to be something else is clearly there. However, at the moment he's just being shoved down our necks and it's the same thing every week from him."

Hes been a work horse recently, wrestling and defending his championship once or even twice a week sometimes. For a character thats laid back and lazy hes been working harder than any wrestler on a televised program. Hopefully more people show this man appreciation because even with seventeen defenses underneath his belt I still feel like hes over hated and under appreciated. Hes without a doubter the best or one of these best (comedic) characters of all time. Watch his Forbidden Door match against Will Ospreay, you wont regret it."

He comes off as lazy and unbothered and moves just about the same, yet when he gets going he REALLY gets going. He has crazy agility and pretty good striking power. People who want wrestle to be presented as a serious sport, and people who see wrestling as more of a variety show. I am happily in the second camp. I believe wrestling like all artforms is made better by innovation and pushing boundaries, and as an artform does not need to be rigidly confined to a box of what makes it "real wrestling". There's no need to preserve an ancient code of kayfabe that barely ever existed. Wrestling is allowed to be funny. It's allowed to be wacky. And I often prefer it that way personally. Orange Cassidy is an impressive athlete who could be wrestling the style many of his detractors seem to prefer if he wanted to, but it appears that he doesn't and I am beyond thankful for that. I'd love to see wrestling become more avant-garde in (no pun intended) small pockets, more reality bending. Because if I as a fan am expected to take it seriously that Kevin Sullivan was the devil himself, I see no reason that I can't accept that there's a guy out there who keeps his hands in his pockets."

[8.0] "Its funny that so many "old-school" fans hate him, because Cassidy is probably one of the most traditional workers going today. Everything he does is logical and no one sets up simple moves to get big reactions quite as well. His gimmick has probably been a bit over-exposed but when he is put in the right situation he can make some truly memorable matches"

He tore the house down and delivered a potential Match of the Year candidate. Still, Tony Khan should not be booking him against the likes of Wardlow. Cassidy has his own lane in AEW, and whether you like him or not he should stay in it."

I still feel that way a bit, but Orange's booking balances winning and losing, and he is really elevating his opponents recently. ITS FAKE FIGHTING. ITS FAKE GUYS. Hilarious. That's this guys entire gimmick. Hope he doesn't have to fight your favorite wrestler, or god forbid, the world champion. Imagine a character on game of thrones that had a scene in every episode where he spoke directly into the camera and made fun of the fact that the show was pretend and made fun of viewers for liking it. Even deadpool isn't doing that every time he fights, and that's comic books. This dude is number one on the list of most embarrassing thing about being a wrestling fan, beating out the rooster *and* the guy that killed his family."

[8.0] "I like Cassidy, I think he's talented. He's a good worker, great at selling, and plays a sympathetic face very well (once the shades come off). I like some of his comedy, like his lazy kicks, but other parts of it I don't tend to enjoy. It works for a character outside the ring though. Speaking of that, he is one of the few wrestlers who's gimmick allows them an out to not being good on the mic, as him talking defeats the purpose of his character. However, I will say that his mic work is pretty poor, and he lacks charisma in his voice. Thankfully, his physical charisma makes up for that mostly. Good wrestler that, while he's probably not main event caliber, could absolutely thrive in the mid card or as a tag team champion."

[6.0] "I'll just keep this short, I used to like him, used to enjoy his gimmick, but now his shtick's just old and tiring and I don't really feel like watching him anymore. His in-ring work doesn't particularly interest me either. He's just ok, not good, not bad."

[8.0] "Orange Cassidy is the epitome of "if it works, it works." With the help of his eccentric gimmick and his deceptively adept in-ring skill, he has a unique connection with the young audience, both in the building and on television."

[10.0] "Truly and honestly one of the best wrestlers out there at the moment! An amazing technical and comic wrestler with superb selling skills and a great set of moves, he's honestly one of the most exciting people in the business today. Relatable and yet so much cooler than everyone, there is a type of charm that honestly can't be found anywhere else. He is so unique, not only in wrestling but in a way that is difficult to spot anywhere else in entertainment full stop. Part of what makes Orange Cassidy such an amazing performer (to me! ) is his incredible athletic ability. Personally think that is an underrated talent of his! Many people overlook the more technical aspects in favour of the comedy (with is also brilliant and entertaining in its own right) but the sheer skill it takes to perform some of his most iconic moves is honestly unbelievable! In addition, His moves are always pulled off in such a smooth manner it's quite incredible to watch. He's also very fun to root for, and provokes such a positive response from the crowd as an underdog. Definitely makes me smile whenever he appears in the ring (especially accompanied by the best friends) and I always look forward to seeing a match of his :) Overall, a very clever, very funny and incredibly likeable and talented individual who deserves nothing but praise from the wrestling world and casual fan alike!"

[10.0] "Much better than people give him credit for. Can work both comedic and serious matches incredibly well, same with his character who can seemingly flip on a dime given the circumstances. He's truly talented and it feels like a lot of people don't understand how truly good he is."

[9.0] "I have to concur with everything said below me about OC's creativity and ability to weave his gimmick into proper matches that are good beyond just the gimmick, as well as how some of the OC stuff is repetitive at times. For that, I'd probably give him an 8. However, there's plenty of footage of him as Fire Ant in Chikara as well, and Fire Ant is a completely different beast from OC and despite the masked gimmick is more of a traditional style, which proves that the guy generally knows what he's doing and uses the OC gimmick to elevate his work rather than carry it."

[8.0] "He is great but at times can be repetitive, he relies on his kicks and the hands in pockets too much and hasn't done anything new recently, I once saw someone try to rock him to sleep for a finish and I haven't seen him do stuff that creative recently, at his best he is hilarious and a great wrestler but at his worst, he can be a bit repetitive."

Only thing I could possibly critique Orange is that his move-set can be somewhat repetitive, at the same time, he also finds new ways to innovate his offense."

Now I? ve seen a lot of his matches, I won? t deny that he can become a little predictable, but that is the nature of his gimmick coming into conflict with the trappings of wrestling, and that is happening because he is pushing the boundaries. He makes me laugh out loud regularly, makes me gasp sometimes, and makes me smile basically every time I see him."

Watching his matches from the indies, if he kept the gimmick completely the same when he got signed by AEW, I would want him nowhere near the main event scene and leave him in Dark. But OC has made changes to the gimmick to make at least SLIGHTLY more fitting for a major promotion with a TV deal. The gimmick is great enough to win over the crowd, but OC is incredible in the ring and that's often overshadowed by his comedy spots. When he's paired with the right performer (PAC, the late Brodie Lee), OC can and has put on matches that are absolute classics. If you want an example of why he's worthy of the main event spot, check out his three-way against Kenny Omega and PAC at DoN 2021. There's definitely debate as to whether OC deserves a world title run, but there's no doubt in my mind that he deserves being in the main event."

I don't see any comedy in portraying a listless wrestler who does not work, I don't know how you can describe yourself as a wrestling fan and enjoy watching whatever he's trying to do. I want to see him try take wrestling seriously seen as he's fortunate enough to be on national TV"

Den Look hat er auch nur bedingt, etwas Charisma ist da, aber in Summe ist das so für mich nicht wirklich solide, aber noch über dem Strich."

[8.0] "One of the most versatile comedy wrestlers on the planet, with a gimmick which has been repeatedly proven to be just as versatile as the performer behind it. Could so easily be drowning in a sea of dime-a-dozen athletic indie wrestlers with no real unique selling point, and I'm very glad he's committed to being one of the most talented, entertaining comedy wrestlers going right now instead, while also routinely proving himself to be a great wrestler underneath the facade. Gone down a point since my original rating for having done perhaps a little too much "real" wrestling too early in his AEW run, his character has become slightly diluted as a result. Not severely, mind, but I do feel it's put a ceiling on how far some interesting potential story and development for his character could've otherwise gone."

[7.0] "He is one of the best ever comedy wrestlers of all time. Sometimes he is repetitive but then again all the greats can be."

[10.0] "the owner of the best gimmick of our time. Orange is a talent that is born every hundred years. He created an incredible gimmick that never gets old. He practically doesn't say anything, but he has more charisma than 90% of wrestlers. When I first saw this artist in AEW, I was very surprised. What is this cool dude? And after the feud with Jericho, his already awesome character revealed even more. He showed that he is ready for main events. Ring skill also does not raise any questions. I look forward to his championship in 2021. I want to see how he walks with a backpack"

[5.0] "I'm not gonna be overly mean and give the guy a 2 or a 1, because it's clear that Cassidy does have a niche, and that niche is very successful in the right places. His gimmick of not caring about his matches, being overly lazy with his weak strikes and mannerisms. He's fun for a indie gag match when you aren't really expecting much else. People kept saying that he's really legit when he actually wrestles, but I don't see much that I don't already see and far more from indie flip guys. The problem is that Cassidy is effectively a one trick pony: once you see one or two of his matches, the lazy wrestling to vicious beatdown to big Hulk Hogan-lite comeback, you really have seen them all. He wrestles like a generic babyface, dime a dozen moveset with no mic skill or drawing power behind him. Sure, he has a gimmick that draws him away from the rest and I appreciate that, but he doesn't have anything else to draw people in. He's very much in essence a good attraction wrestler like Brody, where people will happily want to see him in action a few times, but overexposure drives them away ultimately because he isn't very versatile."

[8.0] "Cassidy's gimmick is different. Some love it some hate it but you can't deny that this gimmick gave him the fame that everyone wants in wrestling industry. When i talk about wrestling, he can wrestle but nothing special. The gimmick is the only thing that makes him different and good also."

[1.0] "Cassidy is a terrible wrestler with some weird gimmick where he'll play kick someone at the start of a match and will get serious later on. He's a bad comedy wrestler and once you see him once you've seen everything he can do. He can't work a match in the ring beyond doing bad indie stuff like flipping around and stealing WWE finishers. His gimmick doesn't really allow him to cut a promo so I can't comment on that but he doesn't carry himself as any kind of threat. I'll give him a point for being athletic."

[9.0] "Cassidy is one of best charcaters and one flash of lights on wrestling world right now. Good example of interesting charcater and good wrestler on same package. Wrestling needs more charcaters like Cassidy. Wrestling world have thousands of "first name" I dont have a charcater" second name" spot monkeys and for some stupid reason people love them. It is one reason why wrestling loses mainstream visibility on every day. Charcaters was a biggest reason why Attitude Era was so popular. If wrestling never ever come mainstream, charcaters like Cassidy is gonna be reason for that. Not those "I don't have charcater because i'm flippediflobbedi only thing I can do is flips because I don't have charisma" spot monkeys."

[8.0] "A divisive character that works, because it is consistent and Cassidy can back it up on the microphone and in the ring, if the situation allows for or requires it. His antics don't enthuse me all the time, but his appearances so far have never been boring, as he has also shown the willingness to subtly develop his character over time. Compare OC at the end of 2020 with 2019 and it's a huge difference. His only problem during the COVID-19 era is that he really needs a crowd to reach his gimmick's full potential."

[9.0] "I've never laughed so much while watching wrestling (technically yes, with R-Truth but it doesn't count). Orange Cassidy's gimmick is excellent, he's just a lazy guy, but when he wakes up, we're all stunned. He's very good in the ring, he masters his character very well, and he's becoming a world star at AEW."

[6.0] "I want to say that I don't get Orange Cassidy very well, mostly because I'd like to appreciate the gimmick as much as everyone else here does. But something tells me I do get the character; that I do understand how he plays around with the serious tropes of wrestling, until... he doesn't? His laze persona takes centre stage with hilarious motions and calm mannerisms, subverting your expectations of a typical wrestling match. But what good does subversion do if it doesn't commit? How does one undermine the established structure and conventions of wrestling only to fall back on them when approaching a match's third act? What is so great about someone acting nonchalant without a care in the world when he winds up wrestling like everyone else by the end? Is the juxtaposition even effective if you compare him to the rest of AEW's roster? The dynamic can only go so far when OC at his best is just another guy. It's the laze that stands out from the rest, not the guy who gets serious in his comeback. The formula has worked in matches before, but isn't reliable enough to be more than a novelty act. As soon as the charm is lost to overexposure, so to is the core appeal of one Freshly Squeezed. His work in Chikara and the independents is pretty fun though."

[10.0] "One word. Innovation. Something that describes Orange Cassidy in the best way. Taking the aspect of the Wrestling gimmick and subverting, lampshading, and parodying the tropes that go into them. That's what makes him so unique. And when those glasses come off, the in-ring work goes from comedy act to a legitimate wrestling spectacle. I don't see him being a main-eventer any time soon, but being a mid-card act in AEW is the perfect spot for him, and if he does grow, it's well deserved."

[10.0] "He gets it. He gets people, and knows how to get the best reactions out of people. He can make you laugh your ass off but still impress you with his athletic ability and stellar timing. You wanna root for him all the time no matter how often he loses because he has a charm to him that no one else can grasp. The thought that someone can take the gimmick of being entirely apathetic except for the perfect moments and make it into a true spectacle is the mark of a stand-out performer. He truly is one of the best professional wrestlers in the world because he is quite simply a fantastic entertainer."

[1.0] "A terrible comedy act who is not really funny but cannot be used outside of comedy because of his stupid gimmick. He might be ok in the ring if he had a serious gimmick. Right now he ruins every segmant or match he is on in AEW. The fact that he is actually over with this terrible shit shows me that i probably should stop wrestling right now because i just can`t relate to the kind of humor which seams to work in todays wrestling business."

"If he is good, I have yet to see it. I just see a circus act. Most wrestlers in AEW feel like they are more goofy than Disco Inferno. I don't get why people get so hyped why they see this goofy stuff, I like comedy here and there but not when it isn't good."

Aber das Gimmick holt mich einfach mal gar nicht ab, da diese überdreht demonstrative Scheißegal-Attitüde jeden Spannungsbogen zunichtemacht. Sei es in Matches oder in Angles. Dadurch fühlt sich alles, was mit OC zu tun hat, bestenfalls wie Filler an. Es reißt mich auch gar nicht mit, wenn die Fans seine Versatzstücke mit augenzwinkernder Vehemenz abfeiern. Einfach, weil es nichts mit Emotionen zu tun hat und so beflissen daherkommt, wie das "Hellau" beim Fasching. Der Typ ist dadurch für mich einfach nur ein wandelndes Wrestling Meme."

[4.0] "Ok, sein Gimmick ist ganz kurz etwas unterhaltsam. Nach einigen Minuten verflüchtigt sich das aber doch recht schnell. Vielleicht kann er eigentlich deutlich mehr aber ich habe bei AEW echt wenig Interesse an ihm und der Hype geht komplett an mir vorbei."

[10.0] "Just awesome wrestler. At first I was like a lot of others thinking he was just some midcard comedy guy who gave me some laughs here and there. Then I saw the talent he had while playing Fire Ant and that completely changed my mind. Later that year he broke out in Beyond and I really wasn't surprised at all. A great gimmick that gets over everywhere he goes and can evolve to whatever role he needs to be in. As a main eventer he uses he "laziness" to get under the skin of serious opponents like PAC, David Starr, and Eddie Kingston to the point where you're not sure if he's lazy or just really god damn smart, and in the midcard he constantly finds new ways to implement not trying into his moveset to deliver an entertaining match. Just to get it straight though, if you think OC is an untalented wrestler you are 100% wrong. The gimmick might hold him back from ever being the top dog in AEW, but not many can ever hit that anyways and no matter what he does in the long run he'll always be remembered as one of the more unique people to walk through the doors and a fan favorite every time he does"

[3.0] "If there is one good thing that can be said about O. C. is, that he hasn't been used as much and in the worst way, AEW could have used him and his Stick on their shows... that being said, I really don't dig Orange Cassidy... call me joyless and with no sense of humor but I really don't like comedy wrestling (at least not in a conveluted, unrealistic and plain goofy or silly manner) and Cassidy is the represantation of what stops Pro Wrestling to be taken seriously by a mainstream or casual audience as a healthy mixture of combat sport und intelligent entertainment.... instead, it adds to the sometimes schzizophrenic nature of AEW Dynamite when you have a goof like this playkicking his opponents in the shins and turning a serious contest into a Indy-Level clownshow.... Orange Cassidy is a nice guy, I'm sure, and the sad thing: He IS athletic, can wrestle and even has some sort of approachable Charisma, even looking somewhat like Ryan Gosling :D. However, I personally feel my intelligence insulted when a character like this is presented with no logic or explanation in front of an audience, without it making any sense for him behaving like this. And I know, people are gonna drop lines like "Wrestling is supposed to be fun and silly... " or "The Audience screams and goes crazy everytime the guy makes his thing! " Sorry, but in comparison, just because the dumbest Til-Schweiger or Adam-Sandler-Comedy draws thousands of people into the theaters, doesn't meant, it makes for actual great and compelling entertainment.... and that's for my part, what I'm looking for in Wrestling and specially in AEW nowadays."

[5.0] "From the matches I have seen of his, I feel he has some talent in the ring but I do not like the gimmick he has. I definitely see the potential in him but he will not ever be anything big in wrestling doing this gimmick unfortunately."

Seeing him do suicide dives with hands in his pockets maybe impressive and his don't give a shit gimmick maybe funny the first time you see it but it gets old very quick. I mind comedy in wrestling but if you want to do a comedic gimmick, you gotta keep it fresh, something which OC fails to do."

[2.0] "Die Idee für das OC Gimmick war ja ganz nett, aber es nudelt sich doch sehr sehr schnell ab. Es ist halt für 5 Sekunden witzig und dann ist die Luft raus. Und nachdem was Darby Allin im Match gegen Chris Jericho mit verbundenen Händen gezeigt hat, ist OC's "Ich wrestle mit meinen Händen in den Taschen" auch nichts besonderes mehr, da Allin's Performance wesentlich krasser war. Ja, also meiner Meinung nach völlig überbewertet und so ein typisches Gimmick, das eine Weile lang nur vom Hype lebt. 2 Punkte für die Idee, aber Umsetzung überzeugt mich nicht und Charakter-Entwicklung ist auch null vorhanden. Typischer Comedy-Jobber."

[2.0] "He can be really good, but choses to stick with a comedy gimmick which limits his in-ring potential a lot. The gimmick can be fun the first few times you see it, but quickly becomes boring and even pretty annoying."

[2.0] "You either love the overt comedy wrestling or you hate it. I hate it. I do think comedy has a place in wrestling, but only if used subtly and I don't think Cassidy's schtick qualifies. How long is this going to last before people are sick of the same old gimmick? It was cute the first time, but at some point I would think people would have enough."

[4.0] "I mean he is really funny, but because of his gimmick all of the work must do the other wrestler. Plus it gets old pretty fast and his match start to get boring. And after seeing more matches its gets from funny to boring to annoying."

[10.0] "My favorite comedy wrestler in the world, his gimmick of being an cool, awesome and top-tier wrestler, but being too lazy to do any kind of awesome stuff is just amazing and always make me laugh my ass off. Also, he got good ring-skills too."

[9.0] "My favorite comedy wrestler. He actually understands comedic wrestling, unlike some others. He even has good in-ring skills, when he wants to. His gimmick is basically that of "I'm an awesome wrestler but I'm too lazy too do it. " A 9."

[7.0] "As with my review of Toru Yano, I firmly believe that wrestling is supposed to be fun, and Orange Cassidy makes it fun. He's a wrestler who doesn't really want to wrestle, and that's what's so enjoyable about him. His aloofness plays a role in each match, as opponents wind up bewildered as to how to even approach him while his hands are stuck in his pockets, working in his slow, relaxed style. He does know how to wrestle, and can turn it up... if he feels like it. Most fans are totally on board with his gimmick, and pop hard for anything he does... or doesn't do. His gimmick can get tiring fast if seen too often, so I try to watch him sporadically to get the most out of his appearances."
