Debuting a year ago in a genuinely very good match against Yoshiko, she's gone from being good out of the gate to being someone who, one year in and wrestling a traditional rookie style of fundamentals and drop kicks, is better than most wrestling who've been around for five times as long. Its hard to quite explain why she's so good - she's very young, came to wrestling without a combat sports background (basketball background) and yet she seems to just be a total natural at pro wrestling. The two big things for me is just how great she is at fundamental things like grappling and basic strikes to the point where she's had legit compelling 4 star matches without doing a high spot bigger than a drop kick. She also has this natural fire: and naturally gets crowds in Marvelous and elsewhere behind her even if she's wrestling a grizzled veteran that she's not got a chance to win. She had a great main event against fellow rookie Mei Hoshizuki in December and its to their credit that two rookies put on a main event level performance that genuinely felt like the biggest match on that card. I'm so excited to see where she goes from here: an absolute natural who should become someone that is not only a top person in Marvelous; but a top person in Joshi generally. Not going ten since I don't think you can with a rookie - that next step is very important. But you can't get a better rookie, and that's a clear 9 rating for me.
