He had everything: charisma, originality, presence, athleticism, and a character that felt truly one of a kind in the modern wrestling world. He didn't just play a gimmick -- he became the gimmick. Every time he stepped into the ring, it felt like something special. His feuds with Aleister Black, Adam Cole, and Ricochet were some of the best storytelling in NXT history. I genuinely believed he was destined for the main event of WrestleMania one day. That's how much raw star power I saw in him. But all that potential -- all that momentum -- was instantly overshadowed by the serious allegations that came out during the #SpeakingOut movement. Accusations of inappropriate conduct with minors, including claims of sending explicit messages and grooming, completely destroyed any sense of admiration I had left. This wasn't a matter of poor behavior or attitude issues backstage -- these were disturbing allegations involving minors. That crosses a line that should never be ignored. And instead of facing the situation with honesty or accountability, Patrick Clark only made things worse. His responses were either vague, dismissive, or entirely absent. WWE conducted an "internal investigation" and kept him on TV for far too long, which in itself sent a horrible message to fans and victims alike. His continued appearances became uncomfortable to watch. It wasn't just fans turning on him -- even his colleagues in the industry began to distance themselves or speak out. Let's be clear: these aren't the kind of accusations you "move on from" or "learn from" with a quick apology. When it comes to harming minors -- or even being credibly accused of it -- the industry has a responsibility to draw a hard line. Fame, talent, and star quality should never be enough to protect someone from consequences. If even a fraction of what's been said about Velveteen Dream is true, then not only should he be gone from wrestling -- his legacy should be erased. It's depressing to think about what could have been. Dream had that once-in-a-generation aura. But once the mask slips, and you see what someone might truly be like behind the curtain, it changes everything. I don't want to see him "redeem" himself. I don't want a comeback story. I want the industry -- and fans -- to remember that no amount of talent is worth enabling predatory behavior. He went from being one of the brightest young stars of the modern era to someone I can no longer watch without discomfort or disgust. The truth is, it doesn't matter how great you are in the ring if you can't be a decent human being outside of it. For the good of the industry and the people in it, removing Velveteen Dream from the wrestling narrative is not only fair -- it's necessary. 0/10. No hesitation."

In only his early twenties, he made more progress faster and with better results than most WWE signings do in ten years. He had several overlooked Takeover classics against guys like Black, Gargano, Ciampa, and Ricochet. His promos had the eloquence of an R&B album, and while you may not have believed in his words, you believed in him, the character, the "Dream." Being the most flamboyant personality among a litter of serious wrestlers, his uniqueness set him apart from the rest of the black-and-gold brand. When he was fired in 2021, it didn't make any sense to me. They didn't conclude anything from the investigation. He was released due to a poorly timed bit of hearsay that hastily turned into a wasteful save of face. Even if he was once a young gun who thought he had it all figured out, CLEARLY he's had his head checked by now. If the Dream returned to NXT tomorrow, the place where he made his name and proved he could hang with the best in the world, I fully believe that fans would welcome him back with open arms. The price he has had to pay for something so stupid simply because enough stupid people were fooled is worth its weight in velvet. Unfortunately, I see a long road ahead of the man now known as TAFKA Velveteen Dream. Here's hoping he's able to get the attention of somebody from a major company soon. Hell, DPW, reach OUT, boys...."

He had a great gimmick that people loved, and would have no doubt imporved on that and become even better. In-ring he was good, especially for a guy that had only been in the business for a few years. Had boatloads of potential, but real life got in the way of his professional wrestling career. "The Velveteen Dream had potential, and still could do something on a smaller scale. I would've liked to see where his career went had those allegations never come to fruition. The likelihood is that his ego would've been his downfall, evident with some WWE personnel celebrating his release from the company. Throughout this 'rating', I will call him by his original name; Patrick Clark. As a wrestler, Patrick Clark was never much to write home about. He was not as bad as some people would have you believe, but he was no Bret Hart as a pure wrestler nor a Shawn Michaels as a flashy showboat. He was above average in skill. Solid enough to pull through a decent match, not good enough to wrestle a broom to a memorable bout. Where Patrick excelled was in his natural charisma. Even in his early character, he managed to make himself an attraction. This is rare, especially for someone so green to the business. After a few tweaks, he had *the* character - The Velveteen Dream. It is at this point that Patrick Clark has made himself a 'superstar', a wrestler tailormade for American television wrestling. His most memorable feud, to me anyway, is the little feud he had with Aleister Black (Malakai Black). The simplicity of the feud, saying one's name, was immaculate. Not everybody needs a bloody rivalry, or something stupidly boring like, "I'm better than you! " It's a feud that helped bring more to his character, and officially cemented him as a "tweener". To run this 'rating' short, I would give Patrick Clark a 7/10. Really good and could, if given the chance, do something in the future."

The only person that would get in the way of his status as a future superstar, it turned out, was himself, as allegations of sending pictures he shouldn't have to people he shouldn't have, as well as general accusations of being hard to deal with backstage and other legal issues, would ultimately lead to the abrupt end of his wrestling career just as he was on the verge of breakthrough success. What a colossal waste."

But based on what I saw, he was a talented entertainer and had every chance of becoming a successful grown-up star in WWE. But everything turned out differently. Alas."

His wrestling is athletic, and he has exceptional matches on a regular basis, with azing storytelling. He's so versatile, adapting to the indie style of those around him on a regular basis, while pulling out solid matches à la the WWE typical style. Something about him in the ring isn't fully there yet though, but he's so damn close. I absolutely LOVE the Velveteen Dream, and he's ready to jump to RAW or Smackdown, but there's something missing I can't really put my hands on. He can be a world champion in time. He has that ability, charisma, athleticism, and connection with a crowd."

Also his promos are fantastics with his ? third person? dialogues . I loved every single match he had at any TakeOver event (especially the ones with Aleister Black and Richocet... this last one at NXT TakeOver Chicago was awesome) and all his feuds has been entertaining becouse he has a much great variable gimmick that is difficult have not a great feud with him. I hope they will not ruin him going in the main rosters and that Will continue his construction becouse he is very young and green with a potential that not many stars has right now..."

That hesitation and decision making are things he will improve on of course but as of now he is nowhere near a finished product. That's not to say I don't like him because the kid has stuff down 10 year vets haven't even begun to comprehend. You can't teach the charisma and natural connection with the crowd he has. But he is overrated by many many people and it is something that could be his downfall if he doesn't develop as he should."

Hoping he can become a top guy one day but it might be hard with Vince currently running the 'E."

Schon bei Tough Enough merkte man ihm an, dass er aus sehr wenig sehr viel machen kann und einfach die Leidenschaft hat. Zusätzlich zu Leidenschaft hat er dann auch noch gute Wrestling-Fähigkeiten und natürliches Charisma. Interessant wird bei ihm zu sehen sein, ob er die Overness des Gimmicks auch im Main Roster transportieren kann, sollte er als Velveteen Dream hochgehen."
[10.0] "As of right now, Patrick Clark aka Velveteen Dream is my favorite wrestler in the world. His gimmick is to basically be an over the top prince who backs up his talk. He has an insane amount of charisma already and pulls off his gimmick perfectly. In the ring he is already really good but shows room for improvement. The crazy thing about Clark is that he? s already great, and he? s only 22. I expect him to be the first black WWE Champion."
[10.0] "I'll admit I used to hate the hell out of this guy. I hated every time I would see him on Tough Enough or when he got to NXT. When they first introduced the "Velveteen Dream" gimmick I hated it too. After his feud and match with Aleister Black, everything I thought about him changed. Ever since then he has been improving and getting better in every way. I hope he keeps this excellent work up."
[6.0] "Obwohl seit seinem Match gegen Aleister Black fast universell in den Himmel gelobt, hat The Velveteen Dream mich persönlich noch überhaupt nicht in dem Maße überzeugt. Klar, der Charakter ist auf alle Fälle ziemlich kreativ und hat theoretisch einiges an Potenzial, aber die Umsetzung bisher war in meinen Augen auf gut Deutsch gesagt eher ''schrottig'': Die gesamte Fehde gegen Aleister Black war für mich mit Fremdschämen und Cringe gepflastert, das war schon nicht mehr lustig. Und auch das Match bei Takeover konnte In-Ring-technisch überhaupt nicht überzeugen, Dream wirkte an vielen Stellen noch ziemlich unbeholfen bzw. ''auf verlorenem Posten'', da muss er definitiv noch ziemlich an sich arbeiten, denn das Talent hat er auf jeden Fall, vor allem in seinem jungen Alter von 22. Ich finde ja, er bräuchte als nächstes eine Fehde, in der er wirklich sein Wrestling-Talent zeigen muss und sein Charakter nur Nebensache ist. Würde er sich da dann beweisen, würde meine Meinung über ihn auch direkt ziemlich ins Positive steigen. Fazit: Junger, talentierter Wrestler mit noch viel Luft nach oben, in allen Belangen."
[8.0] "I can very honestly say that the Velveteen Dream is beyond impressive. He ha s all the tools to be a major star in NXT or WWE's main roster. He could very well leave the WWE tomorrow and become a big star. The gimmick is nothing new but Velveteen Dream adds nuances to it and makes it unique if not familiar. Also the aggression and wrestling precision of the man in the ring is top notch. At the very young age of 22 there is nothing holding the Velveteen Dream back and if there is it is by design or lack of creativity"

Wer lauter gechantet wird als ein Aleister Black, der hat bestimmt kein veraltetes Gimmick. 22 Jahre jung, keine große Indie-Karriere und der Velveteen Dream scheint trotzdem schon ein fertiger Charakter für die nächsten Jahre zu sein. Ein absolut vorbildlicher Athlet, grandios am Mic, stark im Ring und ein Charismat wie kein zweiter bei NXT!"

Still working on developing a definite style in the ring but he has a lot of raw athletic talent and this will come. He is already good at the toughest parts of wreslting and a future star"

Was aber auffält ist, das er wohl wirklich dafür lebt Wrestler zu werden und auch sehr talentiert ist, ansonsten würde er in dem Alter und der kurzen Zeit nicht shcon einen NXT Television auftritt haben. Ich bin gespannt in welche Richtung sich sein Gimmick und Moveset entwickelt, er könnte eine gigantische Zukunft bei der WWE haben. Aber bis Jetzt sind es erst mal 5 Punkte"
