Zwar ein guter Look, annehmbare Technik, furchtbare Gimmicks (entweder ein Chippendale-Abklatsch oder ein Rick-Martel-Verschnitt eines stereotypischen, italienischen Schleimigels oder die The Patriot-Kopie). Aber kein Charisma oder gar eine Storyline oder gar Titelkämpfe die in Erinnerung bleiben. Mic-Skills? Nichts. Tom Brandi, der Inbegriff der Hilflosigkeit und dazu noch Bedeutungslosigkeit. Dazu kein besonderes Move-Set und eine grausame Einzugsmusik, die wohl nur noch (beim Thema Schlummer-Entrance von "The Narcissist" Lex luger übertroffen wird. Hatte er keine anderen Gimmick-Ideen für sich selbst? Keine Kreativität? Wobei fairerweise muß man sagen, dass Tom Brandi seine Moves sehr ordentlich und sauber ausführt. Wie er seit 1985 dem Wrestling-Zirkus angehören kann, ohne je etwas Konstruktives (Gimmicks, Storylines, Angles) ZUSTANDE GEBRACHT zu haben, ist mir schleierhaft. Warum die WWF ihn verpflichtet hat? Keine Ahnung, aber solche Leute bauen mit Stars auf. Zitat Wikipedia: "He was one of a series of "jobbers with gimmicks" brought into the WWF in 1996 to help elevate the company's stars, alongside Alex "The Pug" Pourteau, Freddie Joe Floyd, the Goon, and T. L. Hopper. He seemed to lack the personality to really connect with audiences, though, and never stayed in any of those promotions very long nor ascended very high up the card; his only title accomplishment in the Big 3 was a brief run alongside Tommy Dreamer as ECW World Tag Champs in 1993. Was last seen in the WWF in 1998, but has remained regularly active on the indy scene ever since, and in recent years has mainly appeared under the hood as the Patriot (a gimmick which he has a dubious claim to). |
