| 1 | 16.10.2025 | BlackVikingGZ | 9.0 | Malice was one of my favorite wrestlers in the first months of TNA. He was one of the top member of James Mitchell's Disciples of the New Chuch. He was an enormous guy with tatoos all around the body so he had quite an impressive and intimidating look, totally appropiate for Mitchell's stable. I think that he is really underrated as his in ring work at this stage of the company was one of the best things outside the X Division. But I think that his debut as The Wall on WCW didn't help him to be remembered as this big powerhouse that spend his time chokeslaming people. In TNA he had a special role on the four or five first shows as one of the main heels in the company and fighting Ken Shamrock. His performance is the first Gauntlet for the Gold was remarkable eliminating many wrestlers and looking like a monster. After that he continued chasing the title and fought Shamrock again. My favorite match of his was against Sabu in a ladder match. It was one of my favorite encounters on the first year of the company. Sabu made a surpraise return and clashed really well with Malice. There's many big bumps and spots and both of them looked good. After that, Malice moved to a small rivalry against Don Harris where that infamous incident happened where Don Harris wore a nazi T-shirt to the ring with the SS symbol. It was horrible. Soon after, Malice moved to Japan where he begun wrestling with AJPW and improving as a wrestler. He made a few more appereances in TNA, defeating some enhacement talent with his chokeslam and making a surprise appereance during a New Church vs Triple X match to help his partners beat the bad guys with powerbombs and chokeslams. Soon after, Malice passed away from a heart attack. It would have been cool seeing him on the Raven vs New Church feud or wrestling Mike Awesome and Team Extreme, but it is what it is. I have seen some of his Japan work and he improved there. I know he also became a trainer for some time and had something to do with training Sami Zayn for a while. My rating its kind of bias for him, but I did enjoy his work in TNA and I think he is underrated. He was a really good powerhouse, as he had a nice chokeslam and his work on The New Church was really entertaning, a great monster heel that destroy his opponents. His match against Sabu is one of my favourites matches of the first year of TNA. I've also seen some of his Japan matches and he improved a lot there. It's a shame he died so young, because he could have done more things. |

If you look at his record he didn't really have any extended time to refine his wrestling until getting snatched up by WCW, so he was more or less super green during those years. He picked up quick in the indies and really was a lot of fun as a rampaging Gaijin heel in the Pro-Wres Love era of AJPW, finding his niche as a tag worker and enforcer. Even if he wasn't great by any means, he was a spirited wrestler that definitely felt like he was tangibly trying to get better despite his age and inexperience. Sad that he died so young and in such tragic conditions; his death really shook AJPW and forced them to pull in a lot of other big guys to try to fill his role, which never really came though as well as they hoped. Overhated and massively underexposed in regards to his post-WCW stuff. |

That "cool factor" seemed to disappear when he did other characters like Sgt. A-WOL and Malice. In the ring he had a pretty standard big-guy skill set. Would likely never have made it to the main event, but could be a solid midcard monster. |
