[8.0] "Only watched this as this played before Cage of Survival 4's main event and devoid of a video package, hype leading up to it and no understanding of the story, this match was still incredible. So many insane spots that went well such as Effy's spear through the light tubes onto Mance Warner, the leaping spear through the cage, and the finish onto the flaming two tables and a pane of glass was just superb. This feels like both wrestlers have changed a little years later, especially comparing this to their match for the world title last January. Mancer was so invigorated by his title run that he seems almost a little toned down here, meanwhile Effy's run with the belt has almost deflated him a little bit, while he should have some good feuds upcoming, and had a great match at the collective, he doesn't seem to have that desperation and enthusiasm that is so present in this match. I blame a combination of him shaving his blonde locks and suffering from twink death."
[8.0] "One of the best rivalries of the year culminating in the Cage of Survival, GCW's best match of the year. I must add first of all that the production of the package video was excellent, cinematic, reminding me of those made by OTT, it excited me even more for this match. Effy and Mance Warner delivered everything the feud promised here, all the cliffhangers left were brought to the fight in excellent spots, a very dynamic, complete and frantic match structure. There was no shortage of INSANE spots, they were ready to die and kill from the first minute with that exchange of forearms, the Spear on the fence straight to the barbed wire made me jump out of my seat and the final spot left me in shock! The fire spot in the middle was cool, great way to make a callback to Effy trying to burn Mance shows ago, and failing, with him being the person thrown into the fire, even better than if at that moment Effy's anger makes him try to burn his former friend and failure, in the end it is Mance's pride in having already accomplished that feat once in the match that leads him to demand that burning structure to burn Effy again, but this time, it is the same pride that leads Effy to accomplish the story, throwing Warner into the flames and winning. The selling was very good from both, Mance rising after the spear, staggering, punching the air like a drunk and climbing the cage as a natural reaction of the body in trying to escape. The two exchanging moves in what cannot even be called a fighting spirit, but a killer spirit, they hated each other there, driven by hatred and the desire to prove themselves better than the other. Looking at it from a very critical side doesn't make much sense, it's supposed to be rude and harsh, something much closer to reality, it was two guys fighting, some simple moves, apart from a few punches, they met my expectations. This help from others in production to put together spots is already common, but just Mance noticing the delay and going to attack Effy in the meantime calmed me down. GREAT spot to finish this good. [8.0] "[3.75*] I thought this match was really great at what it was supposed to be. The video package before the entrances was also very important if you are not familiarized with their feud. First of all, the wrestling was good. As this match is a very long one, they needed to have time where it is just wrestling moves, and they handled it. The fire spot mid-match, the broken cage + Piledriver on the barbed wire and the finishing spot were my favorite ones, and they were all brutal. I liked the no-sell spots because they actually sold it afterwards, so it was just a demonstration of spirit and hatred, and in a blowoff match, this is completely adequate. However, it bothered me a little bit that they took way too long to set-up the last spot, and while the spot itself was incredible, the time they took to do it + the fact that the fire went out quickly kinda of took me out of it a little bit. The fire was so much better mid-match than in the ending. The executions were a little bit sluggish because these guys are not examples of great technical wrestlers, but they did their best to show quality, and I respect that."
[6.0] "I was frustrated by the need to set up increasingly elaborate structures to crash through because the final spot grinds the proceedings to a halt. The overall match is quite good given who is involved. If only it were the feud ender. So many kickouts, too many."
[7.0] "This was actually a good match, I think they did some quality stuff here, the match was paused and every spot worked, there were some moments that I really loved, like the spots and the kickout at 1/fighting spirit followed by a late selling, which is rare these days, this is a spot that almost everyone does horribly, and right here it worked insanely well, I loved that. I just think the match overall was kind of poor, the punches weren't good, and they've stuck too much with the lighting tube. I like the fact this was slow and they built anticipation for the next big spot every time, but from a technical standpoint it could've been better. They went to war and showed well the hate they feel for each other - {***1/2}"
[5.0] "Ehhhh. Just felt like an average GCW deathmatch. The last one I saw (Kirk vs Katsumata) was fun because Kirk came in with a nice babyface feel with commentary putting him over as him finally getting into his first Tournament of Survival. This one felt a bit excessive. Other than the spear outside the cage (absolutely fucking UNHINGED spot), nothing really in this match that's worth going out of your way to watch."
[9.0] "A very exciting match! It's just a pity for the ending! The position of the door and glass panel is too far away, causing them not to be completely smashed, otherwise the effect would be even more amazing"
[8.0] "Ist die Fehde nun vorbei? Mal schauen. Auch wenn man sicher die Matches chronologisch schauen sollte. Ich wollte einfach Megan vs Mike sehen und das kam halt hier. Also dieser Mega Suplex in diesen Aufbau aus Glas, Stühlen und Tischen der auch noch angezündet wurde war ja so sick. Wenn Mance da aus dem Pin rausgekommen wäre, wäre er PCO 2 gewesen. Dazu ja wieder so unfassbar blutig. Ich gebe hier (***3/4)."
[2.0] "If you were writing a film and came up with a bunch of cool action scenes and set-pieces but no way to tie them together, you'd make a shit film. There are a few decent bumps in this but they're ruined by the lack of logic and the complete lack of care anyone involved in this match seems to have. It's frustrating to watch until it becomes laughable. Mance starts climbing a cage which literally almost touches the ceiling and gives you no room to jump off of just so Effy can spear him through it. It's a pretty cool spot but it makes no sense. Then you get unaffiliated cronies shovelling weapons into the match because it's time for that spot now. Then the ref starts helping to set up spots (without being directed or intimidated). Then the cronies get in there themselves and start building things of their own free will. Then the ref has to literally tell the wrestlers that he's going to set the last spot on fire because they didn't do it. No care whatsoever."
[7.0] "This was a long time in the making, a feud that's the core to GCW for a while now. And it had an amazing, true spectacle of 10 minutes in the middle of the match. I mean that dive to the outside through the cage onto a barbwire net was insane. And then they f*ckin throw it away by spending 5 minute building a pile of shit to do a shitty finish spot that didnt even look good. this could of been 10."
[8.0] "Enjoyable match. It felt like a major grudge match. The two destroying the cage along with more traditional deathmatch spots was fun. Not everything in the match worked for me but a lot of it did."
[6.0] "The biggest problem with this match for me: It did not feel like a big blow off of a personal feud because there are so many Death Matches in GCW which are mostly booked like this match. So it's not the fault of Effy or Mance it didn't click for me as much (and they really took out everything on each other! ). Also didn't like some of the selling or lack there of (e.g. Effy hitting a Tube-Spear but selling it more than the one actually taking more of the move). But there were also some unique and creative spots (like the ones through the cage doors), some of which felt odd because of the "Roadies" building the setpieces. Not a bad match but a victim of its circumstances unfortunately."
[7.0] "There were a few moments in this match that knocked my overall enjoyment down a bit. The kick outs at 1 didn't feel particularly earned and the finish got a little too finicky for my liking. I still found the match as a whole to be very enjoyable and brutal, but I would be lying to myself if I gave it an 8"
[9.0] "One of the best matches I have ever seen from Game Changer Wrestling! This was absolutely amazing and exceeded my expectations by ten fold. This was an insane but awesome way to end a fucking rivalry right here! This had so much heat and felt like they absolutely despised each other. Some creative and absolutely crazy spots I'd never seen before in wrestling and that ending was MWAH! PERFECT! 9/10"
[6.0] "A highlight video would make this look like an ultraviolent MotYC for sure, but it was far from it. The intensity and heat kept dropping off between the holy shit moments and this nonsense GCW pulls with the match grinding to a halt while the crew (and ref) set up the final stunt is a gusset plate into the skull of kayfabe ***"
[9.0] "Great match here. Probably a touch overrated at the moment but I assume that will correct in time. Some truly awesome spots in this one and a genuine feeling of a major grudge match. This was a really good time and a unique setup as well, I wholly approve."
[9.0] "Great death match spectacle. Many crazy spots that I haven't seen before which is obviously a thing I appreciate. I'm absolutely not a fan of Effy, but he and Warner delivered big time"
[10.0] "Now this is how you end a rivalry. This match was just meante to be absolutely eccessive, to go all in with their weirdest fantasies and to show to the crowd the best legit "Indy Garbage" match they could have offered. They broke Lightubes and glass of course but spots such as the flying spear through the cage, the Pilerdriver on the Barbed Wire web, Effy literally going on Fire and the crazy finishing maneuver 'll be probably some of my favourite moves of the entire year at the end of it. The nature of this match is to be liked only by a niche of people probably so if you tend to dislike Chaos probably this wouldn't be for you, otherwise Deathmatch must-see. *****"
[10.0] "What is this match? The madness of hostility was evident in this war, which made their match in this amazing way. They are friends in reality, one of the dethmatches that ranks with the best. Big thanks to Mance and Effy for the blood they spilled for our enjoyment. ***** ""
[9.0] "The most important match of the year for GCW and, by far, their best one. Effy and Warner have been at war for months now, it's the flagship rivalry on the independent promotion's side, and it was only fitting that it all came to a head in a Cage of Survival. The stipulation they deserved to have and in which they delivered one hell of a match, packed with action and impressive spots. A little long, but the length is justified given the risks they took and the tenure of their feud. It was really fantastic."
[9.0] "My one nitpick is the unfortunate long set up for the final bump which is a common issue in GCW that they don't even try to fold the set up into the match story in a realistic way and it's becoming a bit of a pet peeve of mine. Last night's tournament finale was an even worse offender. But aside from that, this match was amazing and a fitting finale for a really strong feud. They did callbacks to their feud and the elements of fire and the screwdriver, they had the right intensity, and some of the spots were sick especially EIffy going head first through the cage wall and onto a barbed wire structure. Holy fuck, that looked so dangerous."
[10.0] "fuck, do I love them both so much. Effy came in with pants so you knew shit was serious. dont let the clean cage at the start fool you, they went everywhere and seemingly used everything. I think them calling for things and some things being set up, really enhanced the match. felt a lot cleaner, the ring wasnt a junk filled after big spots. great choice. the start, seemed like they were feeling it out which I didnt mind but fuck did this get so good once they started calling for things. I was legit caught off guard when effy (speared/tackled? ) mance through the cage. that was so cool. then effy went and pile drives mance into the spider barbed wire set up. they looked like bloody fucking messes. then mance sending effy through the part of the cage that was put down already! I think effy also caught on fire being put through a flaming table for a sec. not crazy on fire but like enough to go oh fucking shit. was for like 2 seconds max but it looked so good. like fuck, am I glad I support them. the ending was really cool, felt like a perfect destructive ending. yeah the flames coulda been bigger but im glad they weren't trying for that as it woulda ruined he finish going for flames just for the look as flames looked fine.. Effy fucking earned that win and looked so damn good. when mance was limping out, I just about fucking died with the "you deserved it" chants. they delivered so much with this. EDIT fuck it, I think its a 9 trying to be unsubjective but I wanna be biased here and rate it a 10 as im such a big fan of the rivalry and of both men"
