9 | 12.06.2024 | Kyle from TheMatchGuide | 5.0 | I just remember this match being disappointing because it was hyped as something so special. It's just a slow match carried by nostalgia. For something supposedly Yoshi-hashi's big triumph, this certainly did nothing for him in the long run. 2.5 ish stars. |
10 | 25.04.2024 | Weston67 | 10.0 | The greatest IWGP tag championship match of this era. One of the best tags Ive ever seen. Awesome dynamics of past vs present aces. Okada contributing physicality and emotion. Tanahashi being more savvy and strategic. Bishamon the better team all throughout while the Aces rely on being absolute walking weapons individually. But Yoshi and Goto knew each others every move, and thats what won in the end. Cherry on top was one of the best crowds the company has had in years. It was really cool to see Tanahashi in that element again. |

26 | 16.10.2023 | Kyledixon | 9.0 | Terrific main event fitting of a big show like this. It toys with this individuals v unit theme a lot as in singles matches, Okada/Tana have this won but in a tag situation, Bishamon are (in kayfabe) the best in the world right now. Really good pacing here as they built it to a crescendo with near falls and close shaves. The closing stages of this are SUPERB and its actually Tana who works it which is great because he felt like the weak link. Bishamon went after Tana and if anyone was going to lose, it was the Ace. Goto countering the High Flow with his knees was a great near fall (Okada saving) but the champ could do nothing when Bishamon hit Shoto to retain their titles. REALLY enjoyed this. ****1/4 |

48 | 15.05.2023 | joethom | 9.0 | An incredible tag team match. Bishamon are one of the best tag teams in wrestling and the match exemplifies that with Okada and Tanahashi's lack of tag experience costing them the match, Goto and Yoshi-Hashi knowing what the other is thinking and wrestling smart. |

50 | 29.04.2023 | CoolKyle | 7.0 | One of the best tag matches of the year. While a 7 might seem low for such high praise I feel like this match needed just 5 more minutes. They built the match up so well and it's a bummer that we couldn't get a longer finishing stretch. This was the most heated crowd for a New Japan match since the cheering restrictions were dropped. The crowd was going nuts at the end of the match because they really made you think Okada and Tanahashi were winning. I was losing it when Yoshi-Hashi got his knees up against the HFF. I had the same thought about the crowd, maybe acoustics of the building played a part but I cant remember a crowd being that fervent in ages. Okada was great and acted in line with his heelish ways, old man Tanahashi was as good as ever, but Bishamon were the actual stars and came out of this match looking like actual Champs. One thing that sets this apart from most great modern matches was just how sloppy and messy this felt. It felt like a struggle, and fight. |

73 | 22.03.2023 | Hawkon | | Its a fine match. Starts slow increases the pace towards the end. Crowds is livid so it adds more excitement. I've never been a fan of Yoshi Hashi & Hiroki Goto, i just dont like their move sets and their execution. IF you are looking for a back and forth action packed match, you will find it at the last five minutes of it. PS: I cant give a rating yet but my score 3.5 / 5 or 7 / 10 |
74 | 21.03.2023 | Golden Lover | 8.0 | 2023 - Slow at points but had an unbelievable final stretch with tons of drama. Wish I hadn't known the finish, the crowd was absolutely amazing and had me really invested.Tanahashi is undoubtedly an all time great and still has it. ****1/4 |
75 | 21.03.2023 | eenfish69 | 7.0 | Good match, but I wouldn't say great. Storyline was pretty clear and the work was good, but it felt slow and neither team looked at their best. They still flowed well and the team work was good and emphasised how an experienced team can get over two singles greats. Overall, it felt kind of hollow and not to the real limit of what either team could do. Would love to see more Tana-Okada teamwork going forward, especially if it gives more time for a Osprey vs whoever wins the NJCup storyline. |

77 | 21.03.2023 | bigsubwoofer | 8.0 | One of the better tag matches I've seen this year. Okada was a real asshole in the early stretch and avoided doing anything to get a pop intentionally. Yoshi-Hashi's success is heartwarming, his improvement is one of the best things about New Japan since I've returned to the product and tag team champion is an excellent role for both him and Goto. Not only was the match of very high quality but the winner was a surprise to me. |

82 | 19.03.2023 | GoldLiger | 8.0 | Love heelish Okada, especially paired with Perma-Face Ace Tanahashi. Bishamon are a really cohesive team, and I LOVE that they got the win over two singles main eventers in a makeshift team without any bullshit. That said, what I really loved about this match is how the second half had a lot of moving parts where all four guys were coming in and out in ways that made sense to help their team. The champs just had that more intrinsically while the challengers had to react in real time, which was a small thing that made the match and result work. That said, the first half was pretty standard outside of the Okada/YOSHI staredown, and I really, really fucking hate The Money Clip. However, Money Clip was less than a minute in the first half and broken up instead of milked for time later on as if anybody believes you can end a match with it. A great main event for an Anniversary Show, but maybe didn't have the final gear that a more important show would've gotten these guys into. **** |

85 | 17.03.2023 | MaveDeltzer | 8.0 | Fun match. Something I really liked about this was that so much of the positioning felt organic. There was a little bit of rolling and moving into place but not a whole lot when you consider how much action there was in the ring. The organic positioning is something which made the near-falls even more effective, along with the double-team moves and saves. Bishamon have found their niche in the way they move around each other and create chaos without any need for flips or cartwheels. |

87 | 17.03.2023 | Okaro143 | 9.0 | Excellent match. I loved this and am elated that a tag team match main evented a big show like this even though the challengers were a makeshift team. Bishamon are so much better as a team, Not saying that they are bad singles wrestler but as a team, they help complete each other's limitations. Throughout the match, the commentary kept pointing out that Bishamon were the better team and understood each other better and that played into the match; While Tana and Okada were great, Bishamon always had the upper hand and were more aware of what tactics to employ and how to set the pace, they also employed more double team moves than Tana & Okada, thats not to say that Tana and Okada didn't work together because for a makeshift team, they did splendidly but it was the situational awareness of Bishamon that ultimately got them the win. Okada and Tana did great but Bishamon were better and I loved that New Japan boldly gave Okada a loss even if it wasn't a singles match. Excellent match, hope that tag teams also get more respect. ****3/4 |
