At just over 15 minutes, it's a very focused and tight match with very little fat or meaningless sequences. Okada gets the best of most fair exchanges and Suzuki zeroes in on the arm, with plenty of help from outside interference. Both men milk their signature moves and finishers and the sequences of reversals are great and give a feeling of struggle, especially for Suzuki who has his gotch piledriver denied a bunch of times before finally hitting it for the win. Suzuki's striking is great here, as usual, but the slaps in the finishing stretch are absolutely amazing. A match that leaves you wanting more and with the sense that these two men have unfinished business, but with enough substances to stand on its own |

I could have done without the interference from Taichi, but thought that Gedo's involvement did add to the match slightly since Suzuki got way more heat picking on poor little Gedo. There isn't too much else to say about this match. The only notably special thing was Suzuki really delivering some sharp slaps to Okada. Apart from that there was a few good sequences but nothing too outstanding. Unlike most high profile Okada matches this didn’t really have the usual fantastic tension-filled ending I was hoping for, but it was at least cool seeing Suzuki look so dominant at the end. ***1/2 |

Okada is my favourite wrestler in NJPW right now and Suzuki isn't far behind so I think I may have set my expectations a bit too high. That being said, this was still a very good match. I loved the way Suzuki focused his attack on Okada's arm to prevent the use of The Rainmaker and without his most dangerous weapon, Okada's chances would lower considerably. Okada's reversal of the Gotch Piledriver into that over-the-shoulder belly-to-back knee pilderiver thing he does was SIIIICCCCKKKK. I love the move. Aside from the main event, this is pretty much the only match worth seeking out. Not the best match ever, but there's some real quality here. As per usual with Okada's matches, the finishing stretch was fantastic as well. |

Nicht jede Liga und nicht jeder Wrestler kann ein Heel vs. Heel Match zeigen aber hier hat das wunderbar funktioniert. Suzuki ist der geborene Arschloch-Heel und Okadas Rainmaker-Gimmick passt ebenfalls perfekt. Zudem ist die Paarung einfach sehr frisch und konnte mich daher im Vorfeld schon reizen. |

Davon abgesehen mag ich die Chemie zwischen den beiden und wie sie eben die Nummer "eleganter Heel" vs. "Drecksau Heel" umgesetzt haben. Okadas Dropkick ist einfach geil. Suzukis Mimik einfach nur der Hammer. Was eben nach jahrelangem Konsum von New Japan pre-2000 auffällt, ist die "Veramerikanisierung" durch das Booking von Jado und Gedo. Diese großen Gesten, wenn sich jemand einmischt ist sehr viel anders, sehr viel farbenfroher und viel näher an einem USA Produkt. Da das aber insgesamt eben auch nur begrenzt eingesetzt wird, passt es aber auch gut. Freue mich schon auf Rematch der beiden (****). |

Deutlich Zuschauerzuspruch und hat mich Taichis Eingreifen bei Wrestle Kingdom im Szuki Match gestört passt es hier, den sein Engreifen arbeitet auf den Sleeper Hold hin. Das dramatische Hinarbeiten zum Gotch Style Pildriver ist immer wieder toll. Da wünscht man sich doch gleich dass mehr von dieser Partie kommt. |

Taichi und Gedo spielen ihre Rolle in diesem Match gut und im Ring gibt es viele schöne Kontersequenzen und wirklich großartiges Crowdwork, als Suzuki Okada im Sleeper zur Aufgabe zu bringen versucht. Hat mir viel Spaß gemacht. |
