This match was just amazing and it was completely built around the Headlock Takeover, which was a pretty creative and interesting angle. MJF worked on Darbys back and gave him a lot of cool-looking moves like the Powerbomb Backbreaker or that insane Code Red reversal into a Razors Edge. He sold his knee which was pretty smart because he was using it a lot to hurt Darby. Two thing bothered me a little bit, first the two over-choreographed sequences they made. Sure, they looked beautiful and they must have trained it a lot, but I do not enjoy these things on a bloody feud, specially that stuff where they were holding eachothers hands and that roll-up stuff. Second, the finish with the Diamond Ring was not ideal, but MJF doing the Headlock afterwards was awesome. A match with a ton of highs but two important lows, it still deserves a high rating because I loved the majority of the bout. |

The start with the chain wrestling was almost more choreographed than a Bucks match but once we moved past that we had an excellent dive from Darby and the story got on track. MJF began working over Darby's back with some vicious BACKBREAKERS out of nowhere which Darby bumped wonderfully for. One awesome spot was MJF countering Darby's code red into a sick looking powerbomb type of move. MJF damaged his own leg in the process which Darby briefly worked over. MJF never stopped selling the damage and gave a believable selling performance throughout. Similar to his selling of his back with his match with Jericho, MJF does a great job at making you believe he's legitimately in pain. All of their big move trades were fun and the Tombstone by MJF was brutal. There were some glaring flaws like MJF putting himself into position for Darby's coffin drop and the finish wasn't great. Darby handing the referee the skateboard and turning his back to MJF just made him look like an idiot. I could still appreciate that MJF won with a headlock fckin takeover like he said he would. **** |

Absolutely recommended to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. |
