08.01.2026 | Live Show Charisma | 6.0 | I kinda hate that I didn't like this more cause it had some cool sequences near the end like the west coast pop counter and the code red finish but I just hated the structure of this match. When you think of Chavo vs Rey, do you want limb work? That style did not fit these 2. I didn't care about bicep vs knee, that's not why I watch them. Also some asshole in the crowd did this annoying Chavooooo chant everytime the crowd was dead. It also went too long at 20 mins. Should've been 15 at the very most. These guys have undeniable chemistry but the match structure here fought against the good work they're capable of. Though this wasn't terrible, there's about a million other Chavo vs Rey matches to pick from.
06.01.2026 | TrailsOfPersona | 6.0 | Mysterio and Chavo have never had a standout PPV match together in my opinion. And although this match isn't an exception, I consider it the best PPV match they've ever had. The problem is that there are a lot of long stretches of lulls in the action. The bout dragged on for far too long. Even a 15 minute match might have been overkill. But the moments of brilliance shine brightly, and the chemistry and smooth transitions and counters to their moves are excellent. They tell a fine story, build drama pretty well, and generally perform the good parts magnificently. It is a very good match, but it just isn't anything outstanding. Still, it might be match of the night considering how terrible this overall card is.

11.07.2025 | comgen | 6.0 | very boring match you could tell me they put kenzo suzuki under that mask and i would believe you, the single leg boston crab false ending was fun i guess. dont waste your time (6.4)

27.05.2025 | Takeshitas Lariat | 3.0 | Piss poor stuff from these two usual very reliable lads. I was hoping this would liven the show up a bit but it feels like Rey and Chaco knew they were on a shitshow and phoned it right in. Very stop start work, lots of boring heat and the occasional exciting spot to pop the crowd, the whole match is as inconsistent, as is Rey selling his leg. Dull and frustrating.

The big focus were on both men's injuries mainly on Mysterio's leg(the infamous LEG KNEEEEE) not being capable of pulling off his usual high-flying yet when he did he made it worth it like the diving plancha to chavo on the outside and really digged both wrestlers jumping off the top rope and slamming one another face on the mat. really great stuff here! |

Mysterio sold it nicely and when Guerrero eventually countered the West Coast Pop into the Single Leg Boston Crab that build really paid off, since you had no idea if he would tap out and the crowd got really loud for that moment cheering for Rey. |

13.10.2023 | Ruthless Attitude | 9.0 | Well, at least there's one match on this show worth watching as this was excellent and that's not really surprising considering how good these two always worked together. Chavo's style just looks so good in this match and when Rey looks as though he blows out his knee, he targets him like a surgeon in there and Rey's selling makes it look all the more effective. It's a really well booked and well structured match with Mysterio somehow coming back and getting the win. There's a really good turning point here where Chavo hits the Gory bomb and looks as though he has it won and then can't pin him properly because he's selling an injury to his bicep which Rey had targeted all match. It's just really enjoyable to watch these styles clash from beginning to end.

11.08.2023 | flightaker321 | 8.0 | Wish this match wouldve had more heat from the crowd, but this match rocked. I really dug both mens technical work at the start, with both guys making it feel like a struggle and there was also an underlying story within the work with Rey targeting Chavos shoulder. Things would change after Rey fell from the top rope to the outside, and his knee ended up getting messed up. Chavo from here on out would have some awesome limb targeting on Rey, and Reys selling here was awesome here, and adds to the drama of the match. The crowd started to really dig this match at the end, and Rey won off after an impressive series of counters. Rey's selling is otherworldly here, and the reason I'm so high on this.****1/4

27.06.2022 | Prince Osborne | 8.0 | This was a flamboyant wrestling duel between two of the hottest stars that ruled the cruiserweight division during their prime levels of talent. Mysterio was rising his stock his as a cruiser mainstay while Chavo maintained his composure as the living Guerrero stalwart with a lot of weight on his shoulders. Both outnumbered each other in a mouth-watering clash of styles where Chavo fit like a glove in the heel tactics & execution of limb targeting. The underdog role taken over by Rey is a great sight to see every time and here was no different. The finish played so well as a surprise package to Chavo's efforts going in vain. 4 out of 5 stars!

07.07.2021 | KENTAfan | 9.0 | I loved this! Really excellant work here by both guys, and easily the best work of Chavo's singles career. Rey was amazing here two and really brought the best out of Chavo, in particular him landing an arm drag by using his legs was insane. Just a great technical battle with sporadic high-flying sequences scattered throughout to keep the match from getting boring. Chavo's targeting of Rey's leg was just nasty and made it even more exciting when Rey rallied and eventually made his comeback, winning with a rollup. I enjoyed their bout at No Way Out from earlier this year, but this far eclipses that. A forgotten gem, and easily the best thing about this show. ****1/4
05.07.2021 | brickhitterSam | 8.0 | A good technical match, both men sold injuries well. Mysterio was awesome as usual. A very underrated match.
01.07.2021 | WrestleWire | 7.0 | Really good match that got better as it went on. Both men had limbs worked over that greatly impacted their execution throughout the encounter. For Chavo Guerrero, he showed to be a tactician in the way he brutalized Rey Mysterio's knee, including some phenomenal counters. Rey Mysterio was surprisingly technical in this match in the way he worked over Guerrero's shoulder and bicep. In the end, the crowd came alive and both men managed to shine. There were a few miscalculations, but an overall really good match. Not quite 4 stars, but very close for me.
01.07.2021 | Enchantium | 7.0 | This match made Chavo Guerrero look good and made him have momentum for potential future push specially with Rey Mysterio's roll up victory meaning the momentum during this match didn't stop as it was a 'clean' pinfall. This match was nicely placed, these guys had quiet a bit of time, slightly dragged due to it, but Rey Mysterio selling the constant submissions on his knee was great acting and following kayfabe injuries. A great cruiserweight title match and a great match in general. Neither disappointed and was a fun watch.

22.07.2015 | jackleone | 7.0 | A good match that the crowd hated for the wrong reasons. Rey and Chavo Guerrero used some great moves. Chavo was in control for a good portion of the match. ***1/2

09.02.2014 | daniel cassidy | 9.0 | Just watched this match for the first time since it originally aired. I'm very surprised that there isn't a big deal made about this contest, as it was VERY, VERY good in every possible way. Both men sold injuries well (especially Mysterio, selling that knee), there was no botching, a very good variety of moves, and great fan reactions. Basically, this met a lot Meltzer's criteria to the point where it is utterly ridiculous that he'd barely award this over three-stars. Great match, a forgotten classic. ****¼

Knappe 7 Punkte.
