[8.0] "People seem to forget Austin was a great technical wrestler before his ill-fated match with Owen Hart. It's a tremendous back and forth match and it was great to actually see Austin outwrestle Benoit in some of the wrestling exchanges as you see him do moves he hadn't done in a long time. I think he attempted the Million Dollar Dream at one point but that gets countered. That said Benoit also matches Austin and sometimes looks more effective when it came to the striking as he is very aggressive and intense to watch. There was a lot of good countering going on and all of a sudden Austin gets a stunner when there's a small opening and gets the 3 count. Their match on SmackDown about 6 months after this is one of my favorite TV matches of all time."
[8.0] "I thought this match was excellent, especially considering it was given less than 10. Loved the story of Benoit going after Austin's technical ability."
[7.0] "A very solid match with commentary making note that it was cool to see Austin have the advantage with mat wrestling and Benoit having the advantage with brawling until the quick Stunner finish. No less than 3 stars."
[7.0] "About as good of a Raw main event as you could expect in this era - holy cow a clean match and clean finish! I like that the theme of the feud is technical wrestling because it actually allowed for a clean finish, albeit Benoit doesn't get over in this match at all - instead the story is that Stone Cold can still wrestle. Pleasantly surprised with this one."
[7.0] "Seeing Stone Cold get all technical for the first time in a while was amazing and he looked pretty good doing it as well. They had good back and forth action, it only clocks in at 8 minutes which is usual during this time period although the clean win in the main event was not.***1/2"
[6.0] "This was an alright wrestling match but nothing special really. The story of Austin actually going back to his technical wrestling style was pretty cool, though the match itself was pretty standard."

[5.0] "Damn, it's not often we see Steve's technical side but Benoit brings the best out of everybody so I shouldn't be surprised. Bit too short to be a classic but it's a nice little back and forth match with the right result. They'd of course way outdo this on a May 2001 episode of Smackdown, I remember that one being absolutely phenomenal. **3/4"
