[5.0] "Y'know what? Considering Dusty's age, this was alright. It was an alright match with the younger Orton getting the win over the veteran Rhodes, which was the obvious outcome for a match like this. Dusty was always talented in terms of selling and he showed that off here as well. There was no reason for this to be a longer match considering Dusty's age. They did enough to tell the story they needed to tell. Orton did a lot of stalling to start to get some heat. Orton was reluctant to start the match, but the left wrist was hooked up. Orton stepped on the rope, so Dusty pulled on it and Orton took a bump. Dusty continued to use the rope to his advantage as he pulled on it leading to a bump from Orton. When Orton left the ring, Dusty pulled on the rope to send Orton into the ring post. Dusty pulled the rope again leading to Orton bumping on the ramp. When they went back into the ring, Orton grabbed the cowbell and beat on Dusty's left knee with the cowbell. Orton slapped on a chinlock for nearly two minutes. Orton worked over Dusty with punches, but then Dusty came back with some of his own punches and the big elbow to the head. When Dusty went for an elbow drop, Orton moved out of the way. Orton grabbed the ring bell and hit Dusty in the head with it for the pinfall win. **1/4"

Dusty Rhodes was already over 60 years old at the time of the match, he had not had a singles match for a year and a half. Did anyone seriously expect to see a fierce and bloody match? .. Dusty, with all his strength, despite all his limitations, tried to entertain the crowd, and I respect that. I sincerely enjoyed the first minutes of the match. He also tried to beat respect into the head of young Orton, but very quickly Oendy brought Dusty and the crowd back to reality by ending the match. Yeah, they could have added Cody to the commentary table to add emotion to the match, but it was still OK. **1/2"
[5.0] "They did fine. The build has been good and we got some vintage Dusty offense and at the same time they didn't make it completely unbelievable, as Rhodes used his experience to get some advantage at first, but once Randy took things seriously he beat Dusty with one shot to the head without much problem."
[1.0] "By far one of the absolute worst matches I have ever seen in my entire life. First of all, this is supposed to be a bitter feud about teaching Randy respect...and the first half of the match is comedy spots. Just Dusty making Orton sell like a cartoon character over stupid things. It feels like a joke match Dusty should be having against some underneath guy to build up to Orton rather than a personal issue where he's trying to teach him respect. You could add cartoon slapstick sound effects to the first half of this match, and it'd totally feel appropriate. Then, despite this being a 5-6 minute match...we have roughly one minute where Randy just has him in a chin lock. And still Dusty tries to jive and get the crowd behind him like it's a comedy spot. After a touch of offense from Orton, he wins with a single cowbell shot. For months, they were building Orton like he was a killer that was just out to destroy people, and this match set that back significantly. And why wasn't Cody out there with Dusty? You could have created drama in this match if you had Cody out there. Orton beats on Dusty, Cody begs him to call it quits, but Dusty refuses to do so, and keep getting back up and fighting back until Orton just takes him down. Instead, Cody's in the back until after the match is over, and Orton slinks away when he comes out. Orton should have left them both laying with the way his character was going. The one and only reason this didn't get a 0 from me is because they kept it short, so they didn't waste my time. Horrible in ring action, nonsensical booking, atrocious character development for Orton, a huge rest hold despite a short match, and a comedy match instead of a personal feud. There was not a single thing this match did correctly, and it is an absolute train wreck. I'll go as far to say the only people who can get a single thing out of this match are diehard Dusty fans who eat his shtick up. There is no excuse for this."

Well, considering this feud is built around Orton not having any respect, he bumps his arse off for Dusty slow offence early on. There is a long headlock spot then the finish after the start, so short match, thankfully. *3/4"
[4.0] "A short match and its always so hard to have a good match with this stipulation . Dusty still was able to make it good enough for his age using the rope to whip Orton into steel posts and on the stage only for Orton to retain control after targeting the legs . A shot with the cow bell face first for the pin fall victory . I liked Dusty's use of the bionic elbow and how Orton sold it . Another legend killed by the hands of the legend killer. The match itself was ok for what was expected and the crowd was heavily invested as well due to the highly charismatic Dusty against a very easy to hate heel in Orton . **"

It would have been a little more time and something else could have been added to the match and he would have only won from this, but on the whole it? s not bad."
