325.05.2025Mizzle Assault Ant10.0These two teams fought in so many big tag matches in 1986, I believe this is the fourth time they faced off, but frankly it never got old. The action was hot, the chemistry was hot, it just worked every time. This was super good just as you would expect.

601.10.2024cjm5505068.0The action in the match is top-notch for the main event scene of the time. I don't like the finish but prior to that the crowd is at a fever pitch throughout. So many chances for every competitor to pick up a big win over a top singles competitor and to get the crown of top tag team in All Japan. This is not my favorite of these matches even this year but of the 6 Choshu/Yatsu vs. Tsuruta/Tenryu matches I've seen this is certainly in the top half.
702.06.2024uselessdollthing5.0Overall this match is pretty solid, a good amount of heat between the too and the crowd was into it as well. One part did stick out for me, and that was Yatsu pretty much no selling a elbow drop from Tenryu by countering him with a scorpion death lock after kicking out from his pin attempt, I was not too fond of that. What really brings it down for me is the ending, why end it with such an anticlimactic count out after all that?

1302.09.2023KingsCrossing8.0The crowd was electric here, and it made for a tense atmosphere. You could especially feel the heat between Tsuruta and Yatsu. I do think there was a little bit too much repetition at times (Choshu's constant Scorpion Death Lock attempts stood out - they were a bit too casual to come across as somebody aggressively hunting for a win, so instead just seemed slightly redundant), and the finish was underwhelming, but this was a really well worked and competitive tag match that had the crowd fully invested all the way through, even if it doesn't reach the same heights or level of intensity as their more acclaimed bout from January 28th.

1813.04.2023Fifth Pillar8.0The baseline intensity here is really high & for the first 10 they chip away at that level. Then the urgency ramps up & it feels like four guys fighting for their lives. Sudden non-finish holds it back from classic status for me ****
1913.03.2023kcharles5207.0Really good match but the double count out finish was pretty unsatisfying with the way the end was building up there.

2216.08.2022ThomasChaos9.0At this point, these two teams could do no wrong. Either the second or third best match from 1986 between these two teams, which means you should definitely watch it.
2329.07.2022boymeetsworld9.0Another very heated and captivating match between these two teams. It was another double count-out finish, but again they found a way to leave wanting me to see another match and who's gonna get the win - this match simply didn't feel like a waste of time.
2417.12.2021Target10.0A complete breakdown of everything. I just didn't expect it to be this good. I think it's a great fight, which is excellent throughout, aside from the fact that it was hostage to the plot. If given a different ending to this match - it would get a solid five stars from me. The audience was excellent, they roared with every action and supported more than just Choshu, or I'm already used to Choshu's one-sided support. Just unbelievable spots, gorgeous relationship moments, and showcasing the competition between the four of them. I love that every wrestler in the ring is different and it's instantly evident. I think "Tug of War" is not only associated with the results of the matches for me, but the way the match goes. Awesome matchup. ****3/4
2508.10.2020KinchStalker9.0After taking a seven-month break from each other, the top tag rivalry in the company reignites as KakuRyu look to get their belts back. I don't think this quite reaches the level of their first two matches in the year, but I'd put it above the March one, as well as any of their 1985 matches. With how Choshu's character has curdled in the past three months after the Khan feud, this kind of feels like a superior redo of that first tag match in January '85, where Ishingun were squarely in the outsider heel role. Excellent back-and-forth action, with heated, inspired work from all four participants. This deserves more love, even with the double countout. ****1/4
2626.09.2020killowenskill9.0Hell, I thought this would definitely be the weakest match between KakuRyu and Ishin Gundan, but they did magic again and caressed my soul. The Central storytelling between Tsuruta and Choshu was fun from the beginning, but when, at the climax, it led to Tenryu and Yatsu breaking loose and also interfering in the match, being inactive participants, and launching aggressive attacks, it slowly began to take on the appearance of an all-time classic. Everyone interfered with everyone, the match began to resemble modern tag team matches with consecutive hits on each other, and it got an obvious ending with a double count out. A very good match that did not lower the bar of this legendary feud (****1/2).
