[8.0] "I did not expect that ending at all. It blew my mind. This is the way to turn heel your most beloved babyface, this is the way to do a no contest and break the molds on a "pure wrestling" promotion, this is the way to shock the fans with an insane ending and make them want to buy the next tape. Even if the match itself was not the best this two have had and you could notice they were holding back a bit, that ending really puts over the Reborn of ROH. Talking about the match itself, first of all Homicide's personality is different and you could tell that since the beginning. He is angry as he tries to kick and punch all the streamers and then gets on Joe's head with his hat on. He throws the hat and jumps Joe. He tries to lock an early STF, but Joe is the one who does it, so Homicide bails to the floor and throws a chair into the ring showing his frustation and anger. Then he even confronts some Joe fans going up the barricade. They get in the ring and they exchange his classic offense. Joe is on top for most part of the match, but Homicide gets his fire comebacks and hit some powerful offense. Some of my favorite spots were Joe's crossfaces to Homicide in a camel clutch position, Joe's Boston Crab, the STO Slam countering a dive attempt, Joe's elbow suicida, the face washes or the Ole Ole Kicks that looked specially devastating. Homicide double knee stomp to the neck was amazing, as well as the neckbreaker into a piledriver for a great nearfall. Hit a big somersault dive and a big tornado DDT. Homicide escapes the STF, counters a lariat and hits an ace crusher into a lariat for another nearfall. Joe looks for the choke, Homicide counters, so Joe tries to hit his knee strikes to the head, but Homicide blocks the last one and rolls up Samoa Joe for almost a three count (Joe kicks out before three, but the ref doesn't have time to stop the count and the bell rings). Homicide thinks he has won, but the ref tells him the reality. Homicide has had enough so he decks the referee with a punch and snaps. The lights go out and he throws a Fireball to Joe's face. Of course the match is thrown out and after the bell has rang all the locker room goes to the ring to beat Homicide, who takes out some and runs away. Gabe on commentary keeps shouting that he is breaking the lockerroom. But it not over yet, Cabana & Punk attack the Briscoes and a big fight starts between all the lockerroom. There are many big dives and in the end, Steamboat gets revenge on The Second City Saints hitting them with his signature chops and armdrags. What an ending, that was mental. The match for me was a 6.5 or a 7, but with that ending and the unexpected turn and brawl it goes up to an 8."

[7.0] "I'd consider this a notch below their previous bouts between Homicide and Samoa Joe, particularly their awesome battle at Do Or Die. Both men display some of the same intensity that was present in their previous encounters, which is always welcome, but it felt a bit like they were holding back because of the finish. This match was clearly there to escalate the feud rather than to be the best possible match that it could be, and to that end it was successful, but if you're wanting to see the best that these two have to offer than you're better off looking elsewhere. The post match is pretty great, though, and I do appreciate that they followed the general rule of thumb that if your main event isn't going to have a finish then you need to do something major in the post-match to make up for it, and the fireball spot here definitely didn't disappoint on that front."

[5.0] "This was really disappointing and quite a bit behind their Do or Die match from the previous year. I was positive about the work at the start, since we saw Joe showcasing his typically impressive strikes and submissions while Homicide showcased his strong babyface selling and his energetic fire-ups. However, as the match went on, I realised both men were just in auto-pilot mode. They hit their signature offence and made sure to tell the story of Homicide getting a few comebacks and hope spots while Joe was clearly still the dominant one, but it all felt so stale, like neither of them were putting any heart or much thought into making the match compelling. The work was still decent and even good from both men at times, but this felt much more like the sort of performance you'd expect to see in a mid-card match instead of for a main-event championship match. I also didn't at all see the point of the ref's confusion as to whether Homicide actually got the pin or not, leading to the ref-bump and fireball spots that themselves led to a DQ, a mass ring brawl, and an impromptu spotfest outside the ring. That definitely ended the match on a very sour and confusing note, and made me drop its rating even lower. **3/4"

[8.0] "Ich bin generell sehr gegen No Contests in Main Events.
