Maybe that's not the worst thing given the lowkey event it occurs on but still, this only just pips across the line into good for me. I like MIRAI but the tone here was inviting her critics. We're on year six with many credentials under her belt - what's the need for a match like this where it felt like Sareee was going out of her way to make her? Different strokes, but the psychology of this didn't really do anything for me. MIRAI's highlight was the SS Columbia while Sareee's was the sick Uranage that finished it. [***]

Sareee being the more veteran aggressor of the two worked well as the crowd was well behind MIRAI. The finish was brutally efficient and fit the story they were telling too. MIRAI was in Sareee's type of match, holding her own really well, but in the end she was too enthusiastic, got a head full of steam and got caught.

5803.01.2026Figure4Dragon6.0Even when mainly from a structural standpoint in its first half this lacked cohesion, in a few instances where certain tactics were employed that did not further the match, its setting and atmosphere, along with the grit they both possessed, kept things alive. The second half of the match, marked by increased physicality, significantly improved the overall quality, with MIRAI's focus on targeting the head adding a compelling element. Additionally, another touch that was neat was the opening technical exchange, where, for the most part, MIRAI had an answer for Sareee. As the back-and-forth strike exchange unfolded, the tide shifted in emphatic fashion as Sareee became much more dominant and portrayed MIRAI as being outmatched while getting a last wind of hope in its closing moments. Sareee's forearm strikes were thudding, and she clearly held nothing back on those. Her Uranage dropped MIRAI on her head--an insane visual but apt for a conclusion. ***1/4

Mirai looks to be on her way to winning at the end but is caught by Sareee who nails her with this brutal looking suplex to get the win. Loses itself a bit in the middle but overall i enjoyed this. ***1/2

Nice mix of technique and stiff exchanges, the finish with MIRAI kicking out just late is a refreshing change from the usual attempts at protecting a wrestling taking the loss through convoluted draws or random flash pins.
