"Compared to the other broadcast Road to G1 Climax show (day 3) this was much much weaker and booking wise a total mess. Both G1 Climax 36 Block A Play-In Matches were forgettable or pure sh*t (the first one). The main event was a bad joke not worthy of having the IWGP Jr. Title on the line. The semi main event was the only one match that felt like a big match. Unfortunately its booking is also a mess again. New Japan, what are you doing? Stop imitatign that other American "big" company you have relations with and start doing things the old New Japan way, again."

[7.0] ""El Desperado, Masatora Yasuda, Taichi & Yuya Uemura vs. DOUKI, Ren Narita, SANADA & SHO" war für ein House of Torture Eight Man Tag Team Match garnicht so übel. Solides Match, solider Opener. "Aaron Wolf, Hirooki Goto, Oleg Boltin & Tatsuya Matsumoto vs. Daiki Nagai, Shingo Takagi, Yota Tsuji & Yuto-Ice" hier gab es ein schönes Undercard Eight Man Tag Team Match. Jeder hat seinen Moment bekommen und es gab gutes Wrestling. "Jado & Tiger Mask vs. Dick Togo & Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Gedo & Taiji Ishimori" 3 Way hat man recht selten bei NJPW und so war es eine nette Abwechslung. Das Match war aber sehr unspektakulär. "Yujiro Takahashi vs. OSKAR" war ein House of Torture Match durch und durch. "El Phantasmo vs. Ryohei Oiwa" war ein richtig gutes Match. Beide haben sehr gut zusammengepasst. "Shota Umino vs. Gabe Kidd" war ein sehr starkes Match! Erst ein wilder Brawl durch die Halle, Blut, sehr gutes Wrestling innerhalb des Rings. Großartiges Heelwork von Gabe Kidd, gute Matchstory und gute Crowd. "YOH vs. Francesco Akira" im Main Event gab es dann noch ein sehr starkes Match. Fazit: Eine gute "Road to..." Show der ich 7 Punkte geben würde."
