204.04.2026sobredosis5.0SmackDown, which used to be one of my favorite shows for a long time, has become somewhat disappointing - and this episode is a perfect example of that. Where is part of the tag team division ? Where are the title defenses of its main women's champion ? These are two major issues that keep coming up, and unfortunately, you can feel them throughout the entire show. There's so much more that could be done.

Les participants du Fatal Four Way s'affrontent, et je reste persuadé que Sami Zayn va l'emporter. Pourtant, la rivalité entre Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes et Jacob Fatu se poursuit sans que l'on comprenne vraiment sa direction. On se demande si le gagnant du Fatal Four Way ne sera qu'un challenger de transition, tandis que la véritable histoire se jouera entre McIntyre, Rhodes et Fatu pour l'Undisputed Universal Championship. Deux matchs sortent du lot dans cet épisode : un Johnny Gargano vs Nathan Frazer plaisant, et comme d'habitude, l'open challenge de Carmelo Hayes contre Ilja Dragunov, encore une réussite. Au final, c'est un épisode solide, même si l'intrigue principale reste un peu floue.

Der Opener um die Men's US Championship war dann zumindest ordentlich. Das Match zwischen Chelsea und Jade war dann zumindest solide. Im Anschluss bekommen wir neue Tag Team Champions, wobei das Match nur so semi war. Mit Gargano vs. Frazer sahen wir dann das erste wirklich starke Match. Im Anschluss betritt Drew McIntyre den Ring und schießt gegen die Teilnehmer des No. 1 Contender Four Ways. Der Tag Team Three Way war dann einigermaßen okay und der Main Event ein wenig mit angezogener Handbremse, aber dennoch okay. Relativ belanglose Ausgabe von SmackDown. /// Zum Abschluss meine Wertung von Chelsea Green vs. Jade Cargill (5/10): Solides Match, aber nichts herausragendes. Recht nichtssagend. Carmelo Hayes vs Ilja Dragunov: A hard hitting slugfest between these two, they continue to showcase decent chemistry and put on a good match, The Miz getting involved at the end did not need to happen and Hayes getting the win was good to see [****]. Jade Cargill vs Chelsea Green: I did not like this match, the booking of Cargill in such short matches whilst being WWE Women's Champion is not good [DUD]. Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga vs Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy: MFT winning the titles was the right decision, MFT and Wyatt Sicks members getting involved on the outside was not needed but not surprising, an overall fine match [**1/2]. Nathan Frazer vs Johnny Gargano: A fine match that had an awkward ending, this feud about the mask needs to end soon [**1/4]. Giulia & Kiana James vs Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair vs Lash Legend & Nia Jax: The result was not that ideal as would like to have seen Bliss and Flair get the win to get their rematch, nothing too special [**1/2]. Damian Priest vs Trick Williams: The match could have been something worth watching but what we actually got was not that good with a questionable ending [**1/4]

6025.01.2026TomTakagi7.0Trick has come across as a big star since day dot on the main roster, carrying himself like a top guy, and I enjoyed the opening segment which he was a big part of. Also enjoyed Orton's promo backstage afterwards. Opener was really good (8) with a finish that doesn't offend me as much as it has offended some others. Interview segment with Cody and Jacob was really good with both guys locked in and intense. Chelsea is entertaining enough that even a 3 minute squash focused on somebody else can be fun. Tag match was better than I expected (7). Feud needs to end soon, though, and I'm not sure what the pay off is. AJ and Shin being announced for SNME is really smart as it adds fuel to the belief that he might really be retiring at the Rumble, and could be a potentially great match. Gargano and Frazer (7) had a fun creative finish. Drew's promo didn't set the world on fire but seemingly confirmed Sami as the winner tomorrow night as he spent 75% of the time speaking about him. Women's triple threat tag was okay (6) my only problem around it is they just confirmed heel challengers the day before a Championship match, which seems to take some drama out of it. Main event was okay (6). This show gets bookended with Trick looking like a star, he belonged in the ring on the mic in the beginning, and he belonged in the ring in the main event picture. He's not going to win tomorrow, but his future is pretty undeniable right now. Bit too much filler, even if it wasn't bad filler, for this show to go above a 7.

I still think that Trick Williams is not up to the standard of this push he's been given and this will blow up in their faces. Almost everything else, mid, bland, boring, tedious. Even a home crowd Sami Zayn could hype me up.

Lots of matches, most were either mid or filler except the somewhat good Melo vs. Dragunov bout, which by the way is getting pretty repetitive by now. Tag-team titles changed hands and ended what was probably the most horrid reign of all time. This show was essentially a backdrop to SNME storyline wise with lots of backstage segments and interviews being directly linked to upcoming Saturday.

Cody Rhodes & Jacob Fatu had an excellent segment that felt raw and real; that's compelling, something people can believe. AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura's stuff was very nice, and I'm kinda excited for their match tomorrow. SmackDown has been 4/4 this year in terms of actual consistent television. They keep it up.

The first match is decent, but ends with a silly finish. And Fatu declares himself to Cody Rhodes, but seems a little disoriented in the process. Chelsea Green can only keep Jade Cargill busy for a short time, after which we have Jordynne Grace as a big favorite to win the Rumble. Another title change on SmackDown! 2026. The Wyatt Sicks end a lackluster title run, but I doubt the belts are in better hands with MFT. Let's hope for LeRae's sake that her actions don't trigger a domestic crisis. McIntyre still has the right to brag, but Montreal has no interest in his non-statements. Kiana James in particular stands out in the otherwise rather mediocre match for the top challengers for the women's tag titles. Zayn spoils the finish of the main event and Orton dishes out RKOs. Basically, apart from the title change, relatively little happens today in terms of action, some of which is decent, some of which is not so great.
7724.01.2026Eagleupabove [8/10] Another good Smackdown (maybe losing a bit of steam after 3 great episodes, but still up there). Carmelo Hayes vs. Ilya Dragunov was a banger, as expected. Chelsea Green was robbed! Say what you will about the rest of their booking, but the Wyatt 6 has one of the best ring entrances in the game. MFT's winning at least switches up the tag titles a bit. Johnny Gargano vs. Nathan Fraser was great. What's next for Johnny; maybe a new tag partner? Drew McIntrye is the people's champion! Let's be real, this man needs to hold the title for most of the year. Scrap that, give Kit Wilson all the titles. Womens triple threat started off scrappy but definitely improved towards the end. Kiana James is a dark horse - in-ring she's a beast. Give Giulia all the gold (this is how to book her properly, fighting towards the top card). Rhiyo vs. Giulia/Kiana has the potential to be an incredible match! Trick Williams vs. Damien Priest was good. Trick just belongs.

Sami, Trick, & Damian's segment to start off was pretty good, the way they're fast-tracking Trick in his first month is pretty sick. Ilja vs Carmelo was good as always. Cody & Jacob's segment was actually pretty well done as well. Chelsea vs Jade was annoying honestly, getting a little tired of Jade squashing people for no reason, just give us the match with Jordynne already. WWE Tag title match was fine, new champions though, and it was a good decision too. Nathan vs Johnny was fun, liking that little story about the mask. Drew's segment was good, just him playing his heel role amazingly as always. The triple threat tag was fine I guess, seemed off and very sloppy at times. Main event was fine too, predictable ending though, but nothing too bad.

He reminds us that Sami is so close to his goal but never quite reaches it. Sami responds well, saying that it will take Trick years to reach half of Sami's level. Priest was interesting in saying that Trick doesn't say anything about him. At the same time, when you see what Priest went through at Black, you can imagine Trick's fear. The fight was fun. Ilja/Hayes is once again an excellent match. The violence was still there. Hayes continues to grow in power and Ilja continues to delight. The Miz helping Melo win is interesting. He responded by saying that he never helped Melo. Melo needs to be given a feud now; we know what he's capable of on the mic. Cargill/Green, although I thought it was okay, isn't interesting. If the match had lasted twice as long, it could have been good. Fatu and Cody had a very good segment. Cody criticises Fatu for not thinking and making bad decisions. Fatu is right, Cody got involved when Fatu was attacking Drew, not Cody. Looking forward to the match again. MFT/Wyatts6 is cool. Clearly the best match of the feud. It was fast-paced, the in-ring action was decent. The interventions were cool. Logical title change. Frazer/Gargano are very good, unsurprisingly. Both delighted with some beautiful spots. There's a bit of an NXT vibe to this match. Drew's segment is very good once again. He reminds Fatu that he is innocent and mocks Cody by wishing him good luck in the Rumble. The second part is also very good, where he introduces his opponents. He points out that Orton is no longer the Orton he used to be and that Priest's success was short-lived. The part about Zayn is the best. Saying that his son has been disappointed in his father since literally birth is crazy. Great Drew once again. The announcement of the Styles/Nakamura match at SNME is nice. The women's tag team was average. There were a few missteps in this match and the result is poor. It's like Lyra with Bayley before WM 41. Why steer Giulia towards the tag titles when she has the US title? Priest and Zayn had a cool backstage segment. I liked Priest reminding Zayn that he meddles in everything and that he doesn't want him in his match against Trick. Zayn's slap on Drew was cool. We clearly had the worst ME of the year. The match was decent with some nice exchanges, but it wasn't crazy. I don't mind Zayn's DQ. It reinforced the tension between Priest and Zayn. I liked Orton coming out of nowhere. It reminds us of his opportunistic side. SD is on a very good run. Keep it up. NOW SNME.
8624.01.2026JuanLoco7.0I liked this show. There were three title matches, and they continued storylines leading up to the Royal Rumble. Ilja vs. Carmello was the best part of the night, and the title change between Solo and Tama Tonga seemed like a good move to keep the hate going. The biggest disappointment was the main event, with WWE's classic formula of ending a match in a no contest. It was a passable show to watch with the family, but nothing memorable happened besides the title change.

8824.01.2026Open The Vault6.0[6.0] The January 23rd, 2025 edition of SmackDown could be described easily as a show with a good first half and a weak second half. The crowd of Montreal, Quebec, Canada were mostly silent for the second half of the show and it hurt the show. The highlights of this week's SmackDown was Hayes vs. Dragunov, Cody and Fatu's Sitdown, The focus on the four-way and Kit Wilson being Kit Wilson. Negatives I have was the dead crowd, the weak women's division and a disappointing main event. Overall, a decent show that could have been better.
8924.01.2026Ifxfa7.0Great episode of Smackdown with lots of development and entertaining in ring action which is quickly becoming the norm on Smackdown, albeit not at the same height of the last 3 episodes. This entire episode was built around Sami with this show and tomorrow's SNME in his hometown of Montreal and anyone who still says Sami Zayn is 'boring' cause he's just a 'whiny underdog' are so wrong on both accounts. Since Sami moved to Smackdown back in September, his whole demeanor and the way he carries himself has changed and he talks and acts like the WM main eventer that he is and legend of the business in general. He stood his ground against everyone that came at him today and was mostly successful, coming out on top vs Trick, Priest, and even the World Champ Drew who got his well deserved receipt for bringing Sami's kid into this. The only person who stood tall against Sami was Randy and I think that will end with Sami pinning Randy tomorrow to fully cement him as the top dog of the division, behind the champ himself of course. The opening match between Dragunov and Melo was excellent, to the surprise of nobody, and I recommend you go out of your way to watch it. Good finish to keep Dragunov looking strong but hope they finally pull the trigger on Melo vs Miz next week so Melo can finally rid himself of the Miz midcard vortex. Jade vs Chelsea was entertaining despite it's short run time and I like the build to Grace vs Jade so far.....but why are they dragging this out? This should've been on SNME tomorrow or at the latest, next week's Smackdown. Why are we delaying this till after the Rumble when Jade has gone almost 3 months without defending the title. You can't point that out on TV and then do nothing to change it. The segment between Fatu and Rhodes was great stuff and helped build Fatu's character beyond "he's unhinged". Strap a rocket to him and that starts by having him beat Rhodes tomorrow. This Tag title change was long overdue and I am glad they finally pulled the trigger, especially with the MFT on the up in the eyes of the fans. It's a shame that the Wyatts Sicks only recently started showing promise in ring wise in that 8 man tag in Berlin and this match here but that was way too little, too late. The MFTs aren't much better in ring but at least they can now work that many babyface teams on Smackdown which was something the Wyatts couldn't due to their tweener-ish but really leaning babyface nature. Nathan Frazer and Gargano had a great match here but I don't know why this feud is continuing when A) You put over the faces here and B) Ciampa's departure makes the dynamic of this feud weird where we are somehow supposed to cheer the faces that are outnumbering the heel 2v1? Loved that they continue the story of AJ here and set up one final match with Nakamura tomorrow. Also liked the brief segment after where Cody wished him luck, only to find Drew put an autographed pic of himself on Cody's bus door. Hardest I laughed in ages. The 3 way tag match was good, even if it was somewhat sloppy and not as good as the RAW one we had nearly 2 weeks ago. Pleasantly surprised at the winner here as I was so sure Legend and Jax were going over. Also like how they tease the idea of Guilia Triple champ, even though that is deffo not happening. Main Event was fine and was more of an angle than a match which I don't mind since, as I mentioned at the start, I loved the story they told throughout the night with Sami Zayn, whilst also making sure Trick and Priest got the spotlight they deserve. I like how Trick has beef with everybody on Smackdown, really pushing him as this big deal right away, and I also like how Priest and Sami aren't all buddy-buddy just cause they are faces. I know that sounds like the bare minimum but little things like that often get missed. Might sound like after everything I just said, I didn't enjoy this episode but I still did. It's just that Smackdown has raised the bar very high recently after a horrid 2025 so I want the standards of the last 3 weeks to be maintained every week moving forward, which is what happened here
