[4.0] "Kein runder oder gar gelungener Clash Of The Champions. Kein Match hat mich großartig begeistern wollen, stattdessen bekam man ein Boxing Match und einen vermeintlichen Intergenderkampf inmitten der Show. So begann man schon mit dem Opening das Veranstaltungskonstrukt unsicher aufzubauen, indem Flyin' Brian Brad Armstrong in unter 30 Sekunden abfertigte und die Light Heavyweight Division somit endgültig begrub. Einzig Paul E. Dangerously und Madusa wussten das mit ihrem fünfminütigem Matchsegment zu unterbieten, DUD je. Nicht ganz so desaströs Anderson & Eaton vs. Sasaki & Watts, das man unter Vorbehalt Erik Watts' früher Zeit im Ring noch immer hat anschauen können. Konträr dazu gestaltete sich das Three On Two Handicap Match, in dem 2 Cold Scorpio mit seinen Stunteinlagen bestach und dazu den womöglich schönsten 450 Splash überhaupt auspackte. Ohne die umzingelnden und Momentum kapernden Dinger sicherlich noch ein bisschen ansehnlicher, ** um den Dreh bzw. **1/2 im Fall vom Handicap Match. Rude vs. Sting im King Of Cable und Rhodes & Windham vs. Douglas & Steamboat im Hauptkampf rundeten Clash Of The Champions Niveau-technisch gleichmäßig ab, *** um den Dreh bzw. *** bei minimal ansteigender Tendenz im Fall vom World Tag Team Titelkampf. Rick Rude und der Stinger lieferten ein 08/15-artiges Match zweier begabter Wrestlern, Barry Windham's Turn nach dem Main Event signifikanter als das Match selbst."

[5.0] "This show was very close to receiving a lower rating from me, but it was really saved by the main event. It was a great tag title match, followed by a very well executed angle with Barry Windham. It was by far the best thing on the show, as the rest was a bit of a slog, with a couple of really poor 'matches' like the goofy boxing match between Flamingo and Badd, along with the idiotic intergender bout with Heyman and Madusa. Sting and Rude was solid, but a bit boring, and while it was better than most of the show I don't think I'd really recommend bothering with it unless you're a big fan of those two. For me the second best thing on the show was definitely Scorpio's debut, which was creative and very well executed. He immediately stood out, and I believe may have pulled off the very first 450 Splash in a major American promotion? Certainly the first that I can recall seeing. Check out his debut and the main event (along with all of the post-match angle), but I didn't get a whole lot out of the rest of the show."

[7.0] "Apparently I enjoyed this more than most but I thought this was overall a really good show. We get a really good and important main event for the unified tag titles here, which ends up with Barry Windham turning heel on Dustin Rhodes. This show also has the debut of 2 Cold Scorpio, as he appears as Ron Simmons mystery partner. We get a silly boxing match between Scotty Flamingo and Johnny B. Badd, but my least favourite thing was the infamous Paul E. vs Madusa match; which would end up being Paul's last WCW appearance. Flyin' Brian does some glorious heel tactics on this show. We also get the semi-final to a King of Cable tournament that had been going on. Quite a lot was going on during this show and I enjoyed this one."

[5.0] "Regular event, but enjoyable in itself, especially the last two matches, although the result of Sting vs Rick left me a little disappointed, but the couples fight was beautiful storytelling, with Barry Windham going crazy attacking everyone equally."

[4.0] "Kind of a weak Clash. The Madusa and Heyman buildup looked fun, but didn't' deliver an entertaining match. the implosion of Windham and Rhodes was done very well, too. Steamboat and Douglas get the tag titles. Raven and Marc Mero didn't even try to make their boxing match look real. No one wants to watch boxing on a wrestling show anyway. Overall weak card."

[4.0] "A very weak undercard, with only the debut of 2 Cold Scorpio (in an OK handicap match) to its credit. Otherwise, the Heyman-Madusa stuff was bad at the time and hopelessly dated in retrospect; Erik Watts was badly exposed in a match that even the combined efforts of Sasake, Arn and Eaton couldn't salvage; a bad fake boxing match on a wrestling show (have those ever worked? ); and a Pillman-Armstrong match that was over before it began. However, the show is saved by its double main event; a great Sting-Rude encounter, as well as a really good tag match in Steamboat/Douglas vs. Windham/Rhodes. Worth seeing those matches alone - and Scorpio's debut, if you're a fan - but the rest can easily be skipped."

[5.0] "The undercard was so horrible, that I never thought this should could ever be saved. But the final two matches managed to do that, somehow. They were both really good and could have easily been on any PPV that year. Watch just those two matches, and maybe 2 Cold Scorpio's debut if you're in a good mood, but you'd be better off skipping almost everything else."

[4.0] "Ja, es ist tatsächlich so, dass die Undercard bis zum Turniermatch zwischen Sting und Rude kaum anzusehen ist. Da geben sich unangenehmste Entwicklungen die Klinke in die Hand, wie zum Beispiel der unerträgliche Push von Erik Watts oder das sexistisch motivierte Aufeinandertreffen von Madusa & Heyman. Aber auch der albern kurze Opener und das, wenngleich lustig überdreht vorgetragene, Boxmatch sind keine Hingucker. Und wenn ich behaupten würde, dass WCW-Debüt Scorpios wäre ein Hingucker, müsste ich lügen. Sting und Rude telegrafieren das Time-Limit und am Ende ist es nur der anschauliche Heelturn von Barry Windham, der mir neben der Faktenlage des Titelwechsels im Gedächtnis bleiben will. Puh, ausreichend ist fast schon zu gut bewertet, aber ich will mal nicht so sein."

[5.0] "The first hour is truly dreadful beyond the 2 Cold Scorpio spots (and botches), the final two matches were very good with a great post main event angle"

[6.0] "The first hour was terrible, with the worst undercard I've ever seen. Thankfully, the double main events was very good and somewhat bring the score to positive light."

[6.0] "This show is carried by 2 matches Sting vs Rick Rude, and Steamboat, Douglas vs Windham, Rhodes the other matches on the card does not hold up simply to those standards of the final 2 matches which is fine every card wont blow you away but this is a case where the show is saved from being totally forgettable. I liked how intense Windham's was really made the tag match go up a notch which was well needed. The low point for me was the opening match Flyin Brian vs Brad Armstrong squash matches are vital for a ppv sometimes but this did not fill any function at all."

[4.0] "Schlechter Event ohne wirkliche Highlights. Brian/Armstrong ist Müll, scheinbar ist hinlänglich bekannt, dass Pillmans Bein kaputt ist, also müsste ja auch ein Arzt draufgesehen haben, aber dann ist doch alles heil, gefällt mir von der Umsetzung nicht (--). Boxing Match hat für mich kaum bis gar nichts auf einer Card zu suchen, es sei denn es gibt ne gute Story oder Umsetzung und hier kann ich das ganze zumindest als unterhaltsam abstempeln, der Entrance mit DDP, Raven und Nash zu dritt in kleinen Schritten zum Ring tänzelnd bringt mich tatsächlich auch zum Lachen, Badd als Ex-Boxer passt, im Ring nicht viel Gutes, aber das Finish ist relativ gut und logisch (++). Mit Watts&Sasaki/Anderson&Bobby ist das erste richtige Match auf der Card, aber das hätte ich jetzt auch nicht sehen müssen, abgesehen davon, dass es kurz und recht sinnlos chaotisch ist, ist Watts hier in seinem ersten größeren Match wahrlich keine Offenbarung, zu grün, zu unsauber, zu unsicher, zu wenig Körpergefühl, da passt nichts (*1/4). 2 Cold Scorpio debütiert an der Seite von Simmons gegen Cactus, Barbarian und Atlas, aber auch hier zu kurz und zu chaotisch ohne Sinn, das macht die durchaus gutes Seiten wieder zunichte (*1/2). Madusa/Paul E. , was soll man dazu sagen, Story kann man mögen, ist auf jeden Fall auch heute noch aktuell, Umsetzung für mich eher sehr mau (--). Sting/Rude mit dem MOTN, sehr ausgeglichen zwischen den beiden, allerdings auch ohne wirkliche Highlights, trotzdem sinnig im Hinblick auf die zu erwartende Punktentscheidung, die für mich persönlich aber nichts im Wrestling zu suchen hat (**3/4). Tag Title Match ist auch ganz gut, recht ausgeglichen und auch ohne wirkliche Highlights bis zur Endphase, eine Sache die man durchaus si umsetzen kann, allerdings hat es doch etwas an der Glaubwürdigkeit gehapert (**1/2)."

[5.0] "1. Pillman gegen Armstrong ist, wie einige schon vorher erwähnten, eher als Segment anzusehen. Trotzdem klasse Leistung von Pillman. (o. W. ) 2. Das TT Match wäre mit einem anderen Mann als Watts sicher besser gewesen. Dieser verzweifelte Versuch diesen Charisma freien Burschen zu pushen ging doch gewaltig in die Hose. (2 1/2*) 3. Das Boxing Match hatte seine Momente. Trotzdem kann ich mit solchen "Matcharten" im Wrestling nichts anzufangen. Da schau ich mir gleich einen Boxkampf an. (o. W. ) 4. Das Handicap Match war in Ordnung. Vor allem Scorpio kann eine erste Duftmarke setzen. (2 1/2*) 5. Madusa gegen Paul E. siehe Boxkampf. 6. Sting gegen Rude war gut. Aber warum lässt man Rude nicht siegen. Sting war Anfang der 90er das was Cena in den 2000er bis 10er Jahren war. Wird verkloppt und gewinnt trotzdem fast immer. (3 1/2*) 7. ME war gut. Vor allem das Ende mit dem Turn und das Aftermath waren gut umgesetzt. Einzig Rhodes Verhalten halt ich doch für unglaubwürdig. Fehlte nur noch das er am Ende noch über die Niederlage jubelt."

[5.0] "Two hours of this big event, with only a few interesting matches. Sting vs Rick Rude is a decent 20 minutes action packed match, and the main event is relevant for the titles changes and a post-match with Windham showing a different attitude. The rest isn't great to see, specially the terrible boxing match and Heyman vs Madusa."

[5.0] "Durch den „Opener“ wird die Story zwischen Pillman und Armstrong ganz sinnvoll weiterentwickelt (o. W. ), insgesamt wurde ab diesem Clash mehr Zeit darauf verwendet, Fehdenentwicklungen und Storylines zu präsentieren, während zuvor ein etwas größerer Focus auf dem Wrestling lag. Das finde ich ganz okay, unter dem Strich muss man aber bei dieser Show ganze 15 Minuten warten, bis endlich richtig gewrestelt wird (-1). Das Tag-Team-Match beinhaltet zwar 3 Spitzenwrestler, selbst diese sind aber nicht in der Lage, die Defizite eines Erik Watts zu kaschieren (4/10). Danach versucht man sich mal wieder an einem Boxkampf in einem Wrestlingring, was sogar teilweise ganz witzig ist und dementsprechend von mir honoriert wird (3/10). Schwachsinnig umgesetztes Auslossegment, um den Battle Bowl zu hypen (-1). Ganz gelungenes Debüt von Too Cold Scorpio (6/10). Madusa vs. Paul E. Dangerously: noch eine Sinnlosansetzung (1/10). Die beiden letzten Matches retten diese Show vor dem Untergang. Zunächst zeigen Sting und Rude ein fantastisches Match, Punktabzug für die unsinnige Bewertung durch Kampfrichter (9/10). Das Quartett Rhodes/ Windham/ Steamboat/ Douglas fackelt ein wahres Technikfeuerwerk ab (10/10). Danach dreht Windham komplett frei: super umgesetzt (+1). Gesamt: 5, 33."
