Said battle royale wasn't good but I did watch it thinking "At least this is eating into the usual undercard tag time". The two following tags weren't awful, just pretty average. The main event features Yano (for the second match of the show), Dick Togo, Yujiro, and Evil. It was somehow a little better than I was expecting but my expectations were pretty low with that line up. Skippable show. |

Sakuraba just looked plain bad in the opener and Yano did not do much to get involved given he was doing double duty. It was below average if not bordering on bad. The rambo itself was straight up bad. It was far too long and did not have anywhere near enough interesting ideas to justify its inclusion on the card. The main goofy attraction to hold you over till the end was the whole Iizuka angle. And they managed to not even catch Taichi and Iizuka eliminating each other on camera. Total failure. The ending three comes down to Zack, Sanada, and Umino. Two men who no one in the building cared about and Zack. New Japan seem to be telegraphing hard that Zack will be winning and defending against Sanada at Royal Quest and now the winner of the rambo Umino. Let's all just hope that isn't your main event for Wrestle Kingdom given Umino's booking this year. The main event was also bad. 2024 Tanahashi was the best part of it; need I really elaborate beyond that. |
