| 1 | 25.08.2025 | abrleva8 | 8.0 | Even though most of the matches on this episode were quite short, the show was incredibly entertaining from start to finish. The opener between Johnny B. Badd and Diamond Dallas Page was brief but explosive, full of energy and charisma that kicked things off on the right foot. The women's tag team match was a real highlight -- Akira Hokuto and Bull Nakano were dominant, while Cutie Suzuki and Mayumi Ozaki showcased great skill and heart. Easily one of the best women's matches WCW ever aired at the time. Hulk Hogan's quick match against Hugh Morrus did exactly what it needed to: keep the crowd engaged and give Hogan a strong moment. The main event featuring Sting and Lex Luger vs. The Four Horsemen (Arn Anderson & Brian Pillman) brought solid star power and fast-paced action to close out the night. Overall, the pacing, variety, and strong performances made this a standout Nitro episode -- a fun watch that deserves a high rating. |

I'm not a fan of this Hogan character at all, but I do like the babyfaces not trusting each other far more than that Dungeon of Doom feud that's for damn sure! The main event has a good storyline going on with the Sting and Luger dynamic, the Joshi wrestlers coming back for another match was awesome and The Giant is great to watch destroying people. |

Ein bisschen merkwürdig finde ich, dass Luger immer noch nicht klar Heel ist, nachdem er eigentlich schon gegen Macho Man und Hogan geturnt ist aber man wollte wohl die Spannung noch etwas halten. Hogan tritt hier sogar mal wieder bei Nitro an gegen einen recht junge Hugh Morrus und besiegt ihn mit seinen 3 Moves of Doom. Main Event war ganz nett, ebenso das Match der Frauen aus Japan, die das meiste aus ihren 5 Minuten rausholen. Opener diente nur der Story, war dafür aber okay. |

What a start to the show, then we get Hugh Morris making his Nitro debut against Hulk which is huge for the guy, your first match against the top guy on Nitro is really cool. The four Horseman taking on Sting and Luger wasn't the best work but it was fine for TV. |

Keines der Matches war besonderes ansehnlich (auch das Frauenmatch nicht), aber wenigstens wurde etwas Storyentwicklung betrieben. Bei DDPs fortschreitender Trennung von seiner Doll hat mir das ganz gut gefallen, wohingegen alles rund um den neuen World Champion seit dem PPV sehr schwach wirkte. Erst der affige Titelgewinn und jetzt wird er direkt nochmal vom Giant planiert. Naja, hoffentlich verliert er den Gürtel schnell wieder. Bei Sting-Lugerdynamik bin ich hin und hergerissen. Finde es gut, dass Luger noch teilweise Vertrauen geschenkt wird. Nur sollte man ihn langsam mal definitiv zu einer Seite turnen lassen, damit nicht jede Woche die ganze Zweifelsthematik durchgespielt werden muss. |

Great move bringing in some joshi wrestlers to completely rule in the ring, first off! Ok, Hogan is still lame, but even watching him question who is and isn't on his side is good stuff. Nitro rules. |

Also alles wie es zu erwarten war. 2/10 Der Main Event war ok, mehr aber auch nicht. 4/10 Insgesamt bekommt WCW Monday Nitro dieses Mal 3 von 10 Punkten. Insgesamt eine sehr schwache Ausgabe die man sich nicht unbedingt angucken muss. |

Insgesamt war das nichts und einmal mehr staune ich darüber wie altbacken und lahm die WCW damals war. Es wurde damals wirklich höchste Zeit für eine massive Veränderung. |

Die Damen haben beim PPV dermassen überzeugt, dass sie heute noch einmal wertvolle TV-Zeit erhalten. Das Match ist aber viel weniger überzeugend, zudem verletzt sich Bull Nakano in der Schlußphase am Knie. Sayonara! Hogan lässt sich zu einer Minimalleistung herab - wie gnädig. Das Szenario im Anschluss ist etwas wirr - der Giant attackiert den Macho Man (letzterer im Disput mit Hogan über den Verlauf des PPV-Main-Events, inklusive seltsam anmutenden Bildausfalls im richtigen Augenblick) und wird dafür von Hogan und Sting mit einem Stuhl verdroschen. Die fünf Minuten im abschliessenden Tag-Match sind solides Gebrawle, wobei die Reaktionen auf Flair sehr laut erscheinen. Am Ende macht der Halbgott in Gelb-Rot den Save und Sting wirbt um Kredit für seinen Tweener-Buddy Luger. Alles sehr hektisch, nichts erscheint irgendwie zu Ende gedacht. Heute im Ergebnis nur ausreichend. |
