Both matches felt like a big filler, in a card full with a lot of matches to watch. Since some time AEW has been needing to think about the necessity of having so many matches in their PPV shows. [2.0] "Hey, it's been five years since the first AEW show, let's check in on what's happening on the pre-show! Wait, it's 90 minutes and mostly consists of talking heads? Nonstop commercials? A reprehensible primary advertiser? Mid-to-bad matches featuring characters and feuds the audience has been trained to not care about? Great! It's clear Tony Khan has hired WAY too many behind-the-scenes WWE people to just make the production WWE-lite."
[5.0] "Normal Buy In with two decent matches. One hour and half was actually a lot of time for such few matches so adding a third one wouldn't have been a bad idea. "MOTN" was the trios while the opener got slightly worse. If you already know the formula you shouldn't be surprised by this. **1/2"
[6.0] "This was fine for what it was. Deonna Purrazzo and Thunder Rosa had the best match on the show, and one of their best matches of the year. Billy Gunn and the Acclaimed vs. Cage of Agony did nothing more than showcase how washed the Acclaimed are now."
[2.0] "A big and sad waste of time. Matches far below what they could be. Rosa/Purrazzo was disappointing, being a big fan of both of them it was hard to see them have such a bad match. The trios match was just something I wish I could unsee, it was just bad (almost like Los Villanos vs. Los Psycho Circus back at Triplemanía 23). Just stop with pre-shows/buy ins/ countdowns. They serve no purpose other than draining your patience to the point where you don't want to watch the PPV."
[5.0] "Very little to really hype this up. Purazzo vs Rosa was fine and the finish will allow them to continue the feud. The tag match was honestly pretty boring."
[6.0] "Solider Buy In dieses Mal. Das ganz drumherum war in Ordnung. Jarrett, Parquette und City führten gewohnt durch die Vorschau. Mit der Ankündigung des Owen Hart Turniers hatte man auch noch etwas wichtiges zu zeigen. Dazu 2 Matches. Purrazzo gegen Rosa hat mir gut gefallen und daher auch das MOTN der Show. Gutes Wrestling von den beiden. Die kleine Fehde läuft auch sehr anständig. Das Trios Match danach war in Ordnung aber mit den Acclaimed werde ich nicht mehr warm. So leid mir das auch für Bowens tut aber diese Kombo brauche ich in der Form einfach nicht mehr."
[5.0] "One really good match on the buy in and one unimpressive match veering towards bad. The Deonna Purazzo vs. Thunder Rosa match was worth a watch if you're into AEW in my opinion, but despite how much I liked that match, the buy in was still pretty skippable. Still, I'm glad I decided to watch the women's match. [MOTN: n/a]"
[7.0] "Deonna Purrazzo and Thunder Rosa, while a non-title match, were unfortunately left off the main card. That match was very good. The six man tag team was fine - I have a sinking feeling this is going to lead to a split with The Acclaimed though. I enjoyed Jeff Jarrett on the pre-show as well."
[6.0] "Decent enough buy-in: Deonna vs. Thunder Rosa was pretty good, these two have good chemistry. Deonna cheated to win so the feud is not over yet. We got the announcement of the return Owen Hart's Cup where the winners (male and female) are going to get a shot at their respective world's titles at All In London. Cage of Agony vs. The Acclaimed was bad, I like Cage and the Gates of Agony but The Acclaimed have clearly fallen off. Overall: one good match, one bad match and a great announcement. Pretty solid. Great packages as usual and the trio of RJ City, Renee Paquette and Jeff Jarret conducted very well the whole thing."
[6.0] "A better, more condensed pre-show than we are used to with AEW. Only two matches, one of which exceeded what we typically see from these. The Owen Hart Cup announcement was nice, it always makes me happy that Martha can embrace wrestling again. Giving the tournament some real stakes is also great."
[6.0] "Der Buy-In war für mich insgesamt passabel. Da es nur zwei Matches gab, zogen sich die Videos statt eine halbe Stunde ein dreiviertel Stunde lang, was ich etwas unnötig fand. Ab dem ersten Match war es dann aber eine solide Preshow. Deonna vs. Thunder Rosa fand ich grundsolide. Das Trios Match war sehr passabel und für mich eines der besseren Acclaimed Matches in letzter Zeit. Erwähnenswert ist unbedingt noch, dass zw. den Matches ein Segment mit Martha Hart und Tony Khan stattfand. Man kündigt die dritte Ausgabe des Owen Hart Cups an. Da in diesem Jahr das 25. Jubiläum der Owen Hart Foundation ist, erhalten die Sieger in diesem Jahr ein World Title Shot. Und das nicht irgendwo, sondern bei All In. Das finde ich richtig gut. Schönes Segment, was auch den Zuschauern gefallen hat."
[6.0] "Die Pre-Show hatte diesmal nur 2 anstatt 4 Matches zu bieten, was ich eigentlich auch als ausreichend empfand. Es gab ein gutes Match mit Thunder Rosa vs. Deonna Purrazzo und ein schwächerse Match mit dem 6-Man Tag Team. Alles in Allem ein durchschnittliches Buy-In."
[3.0] "It was a two match pre show and in comparison to the Dynasty one, it was baaad. Both matches had horrible finishes but at least the first one had some positives. When you go zero for two, you can't expect a better score."
[6.0] "The Thunder Rosa vs. Deonna Purrazzo match was well wrestled enough, but I wasn't pleased with the ending (Purrazzo cheating by holding the rope to get the pin) because it means this feud is going to continue, and frankly... I think we're all ready to move on from it. (I love Thunder Rosa, but the feud is stale now.) As for the six-man tag team match... meh. I never really get excited for Billy Gunn & The Acclaimed, and I hope Brian Cage starts getting some better booking soon. But I've got to admit, I did enjoy the interference by Chance, the Vegas Golden Knights mascot..."
