[7.0] "Good show: I was happy to see Cassidy recieve his flower and appreciation, he cut a short but decent promo where he said that won't take a break. Moxley vs. Fox was a solid opener, good way to start Moxley's reign. Statlander vs. Sakura was great, especially considering the short length. Sakura is gold eveytime she's on TV and Statlander is having a great reign as Tbs champion. Mjf/Joe's confrontation was good but not great. Joe was awesome but Mjf was a bit below his usual level, hope for better promos in the future. Ricky Starks' video package was awesome. Strong vs. Beretta was very good but there it wasn't much heat between these two and the crowd wasn't very invested. Solid but nothing more. Toni Storm is amazing in this new gimmick, best thing in the women's division right now by far. Le Sex Gods vs. Aussie Open was the best match of the night. I would love to see Sammy and Jericho again as a team but I think they are going to split them up soon. Swerve/Page promo was great, happy to see Swerve on TV reguarly. Allin vs. Wayne was very underwhelming, worst match of the night. It was slow at times, Wayne didn't look good at all and the finish was anti-climatic. Christian Cage arriving during the match just to be on commentary was just weird. Overall: it was an enjoyable show with a couple of good matches and promos, nothing crazy but a good way to continue the post-Punk era."
Insgesamt eine wirkliche gute Show."
[5.0] "This show was pretty mediocre for me. None of the matches really felt worth my time, nothing really more than an average tv match imo. This show also lacked main event worthy talent across the board, darby allin and nick wayne as the main event? That's a weak choice."
[7.0] "The anchors for this episode were the great promo battles between Samoa Joe/MJF and Hangman/Swerve. Each of the segments (whether matches or promos) foreshadowed fresh feuds that should support the Grand Slam and WrestleDream builds. The Main Event suffered from rushed production and ill-timed commercial breaks, but the rest of the segments had time to breathe (which is somewhat rare for Dynamite). The sprint between Statlander and Sakura was quite good, and it's a shame it was under 5 minutes and thus ineligible for a matchguide rating."
[7.0] "A fine episode, with two matches that had a possible surprise outcome, that being the main event and the Sex Gods tag, which could've ended a few different ways. The promo work was nice, particularly the Swerve/Page segment, which hopefully gets both of these guys into a main event feud. The Darby/Wayne match was good, but the booking around the end was a bit jarring. Also - the horrendous screeching and cackling of Emi Sakura makes her matches nearly unwatchable for me."
[6.0] "A very watchable episode even if I can't point out any match as must-see. It's mostly a card of average matches but that's enough if the pacing is okay and there's enough story progression. Hangman and Swerve both need something they can sink their teeth into and hopefully they have it. There were some weird inconsistencies, though. First you have Jericho and Sammy getting into a minor shoving battle, which leads to security flooding the ring as if they're trying to kill each other. Right after that you get the full-on unsanctioned fight between Samoa Joe and MJF with no security in sight. Not a huge deal but it looks weird doing that back-to-back with the Jericho and Sammy bit. Then you have Darby in the main event not wanting to hit his finisher on his friend, so his solution is to hit a finisher which looks about five times more brutal just 10 seconds later. Stuff like that doesn't add up."
[8.0] "This really felt like a return to form. While there wasn't anything GROUNDBREAKING, this show had a nice sense of direction and plotting (That Hangamn and Swerve segment was GOLD). Minus the Sammy and Jericho angle after the tag match, there wasn't anything on this show that I disliked. The in ring work was also pretty good all around. The foundation for positive growth creatively has been set. Very good piece of business"
[8.0] "Very good Dynamite. I think the new format of longer storytelling segments working their ways directly into absolutely outstanding matches with related people is really working for me. Was surprisingly hard to turn off. I also really appreciate the match at the beginning of the show paying off with the match at the end of the show. This was very good booking. Wish it was a bit more in-ring action (and I'm thinking so is the audience in the stadium if attendance numbers are to be believed) but it's good television and I'm still here for the long term."
[7.0] "This was a good show. Jon Moxley vs AR Fox was a good match, although I don't enjoy Fox that much. We then got Kris Statlander struggling way more than she should with Emi Sakura. I didn't like this that much and felt it made Statlander look weak. We go into the Le Sex Gods vs. Aussie Open match next, and it's easily the best match on the show. We then got Roderick Strong vs. Trent Baretta. This was a lot of fun, and it was nice to actually see Strong wrestle again. Finally, we got Nick Wayne vs. Darby Allin. This was a good match, but weaker than most of the rest of the card."
[9.0] "This show felt like AEW is beginning to find their stride again. That is, their own, fast-paced show with a lot of wrestling and quick promos (with the obvious exception of MJF). This is almost to be expected following the excellent two weeks they had with All In and All Out. A lot of new story developments and yet a lot of question marks surrounding the big players in the promotion. Overall, a ton of fun."
[10.0] "This was one of those episodes that reminded me of why I fell in love with AEW in the first place. The episode flew by and felt smooth. New storylines were started and other storylines progressed or branched off in new directions. Samoa Joe and MJf having a promo battle was excellent, it acknowledged WWE history and built it as solid reasoning for MJF's character to have beef with Joe. The Hangman/Swerve promo was magic, the shock of seeing Swerve face off with Hangman had me standing up. Swerve was electric as he tore Adam down and built him back up, there were kernels of truth in his statements that added to the believability. The whole sequence leading to an ambush by Brian Cage was excellent planning by Swerve and a hot start to a feud that could be the focal point of AEW. All Out and this Dynamite have assured me that post CM Punk AEW may be fantastic."
[9.0] "The flow of this episode was phenomenal. Going from segment to match almost seamlessly. And some folks might be lower on the matches this Wednesday but I think they were quite good and the crowd remained into them. Decent set up episode for the show. Think the first hour was some of the best AEW has done while second hour with some of those promos and pacing wasnt as good as the first but still hit fairly well. Decent set up episode after All Out heading into Grand Slam and WRESTLE DREAM. Particularly love Swerve/Hangman as a feud as well as whatever we may be doing with OC."
[10.0] "Not the best Dynamite in term of in ring action but some good ( not great ) matches. But it was one of the best dynamite in term of storyline advancement. The promo between Samoa Joe and MJF was very good. I'm very interessed by the Swerve vs Hangman feud."
[9.0] "In terms of storytelling, this is one of AEW's best dynamites in months and best episodes they've had at least compared to the rough patch of below average to mediocrity we have seen. Good opener that had me missing OC big time and hoping someone can take that International belt off of Moxley.. The match after for the TBS title was probably the match of the night believe it or not, because while it was shorter than 5 minutes it told EVERYTHING it needed to and put over Kris in exactly the way she needs to be put over she needs to have a match like this every week on dynamite or collision and I and many other fans of Kris would be very pleased. Funny promo from Toni Storm that also makes me feel like she could easily beat Saraya at Grand Slam in a few weeks. Also this Dynamite was filled with entertaining promos. MJF and Samoa Joe had me on the edge of my seat at a point thinking the top was going to blow off the place with all the tension built up. We could also possibly see Christian Cage and Nick Wayne have a big match soon, which I still am not entirely sure how I feel about Nick being he hasn't done TOO much in AEW worth noting yet but a win against Christian would be wild. Hangman and Swerve feuding should also be real good. I need to see Swerve main eventing AEW PPVs in a year or so and matches like this will do it. Some matches could of went shorter and gave a bit more time to the women but I still feel like they got their own solid piece of programming and that TK is actually trying to put the pieces together to book things the fans want to see."
[9.0] "Most of the matches weren't anything to write home about but the build to future shows/matches was great. Not sure where Darby/Wayne/Fox is going but I'm hopeful that it somehow leads to heel AR Fox again. MJF/Joe was great. Swerve/Hangman less great but still fresh and promises good action. Christian & Luchasaurus are a great heel act. We saw a starmaking performance for Ricky Starks at All Out but they need to follow it up so I was glad to see a video package. I'm down for more Starks/Danielson."
[7.0] "An episode of Dynamite in which the promos and story progression were the clear highlight. Who knew that putting big stars in programmes together makes exiting tv huh? Not convinced by Hangman always looking like a bit of a wet wipe though. This would have got an 8 but lord have mercy that main event was crap."
[7.0] "This was a strangely put together episode for sure. I enjoyed most of it, all the matches were enjoyable, including Emi Sakura vs Kris statlander which was a great hard hitting match that despite being under 5 minutes should get to be rated anyways - its an easy 7 by the way - and the only real problem I had was here I thought maybe I could get behind a babyface MJF but then they have to go and put him again Joe who is just so good and amazing as a bad guy Im always going to want Joe to come out on top, but way way worse is the idea that its highly unlikely Joe would win for obvious booking reasons even if he deserves it. So what, MJF deserves to have a one off title bout with Samoa freaking Joe and hes going to clear it easy? That sounds like terrible booking. Even worse is how horendously lazy MJF's promo work has been as a face. He's still a bad guy but people like him too much, which I still dont get. This is like cheering for Homelander or thinking he's the best character in The Boys or thinking the Joker is always right. Its awful but MJF's reasoning being the literal same as before as a heel and convincing people the BOO William Regal all of a sudden and cheer that he storyline sent him to the hospital is... the hell is going on? Why are we promoting awful shitty characters as the heros of the company. Really really bad work. Cant stand it. MJF being champion this long and some how figuing out how to do the bare minimum of character growth in over a year while getting cheered for some bizzar reason is easily one of the worst things about AEW in months."
[6.0] "This episode was a mixed bag. The matches were pretty average, but the promo segments carried the episode. The feud between Samoa Joe and MJF has the potential to be very entertatining and I can't wait for the eventual match between them. MJF has put on great matches against guys who are smaller than him but I'm curious to see how MJF will compete against someone in the stature of Joe. I gotta add, I didn't enjoy MJF's promo because his "I used to be a fan of you bla bla" schtick is getting a bit stale at this point. Swerve's promo on Hangman was definitely the highlight of the night for me, and I'm interested to see how this feud will go. Swerve and Hangman can both benefit from it."
[8.0] "No amazing matches, but the direction was so focused. Highlights include Cassidy's short but sweet "I'm not going anywhere" promo, Starks' video package, the standoff between MJF and Samoa Joe, and then the standoff between Hangman and Swerve. So much good storyline stuff here so a really solid episode even without super high level matches."
[6.0] "I didn't think the matches were too great this week (especially not the main event), but the promos were good and I enjoyed the storyline development. It's nice to see some fresh angles with people that we haven't seen wrestle each other before, like Joe vs MJF and Swerve vs Page. The show in general felt like a nice change of pace and the start of something new. Solid episode that effectively set up the next batch of storylines following the PPV."
[6.0] "I enjoyed Cassidy getting his flowers to open the show, although I feel like I'm going to get tired of "I do not have a catchphrase" very quickly. Moxley & Fox got off to an uncharacteristically weak start but pulled it together by the end. Statlander-Sakura was nothing noteworthy. The tag match was the best match of the night, with Aussie Open (and Kyle in particular) looking very polished and hard-hitting. It still wasn't anything amazing, but I had the most fun watching this, Aussie Open have been one of AEW's most consistent acts since arriving. Ricky Stark's pre-tape promo was absolutely excellent, as one expects whenever he gets promo time. The content of Callis' interview was good, and Renee was great as ever, but Don's delivery was weirdly rushed and unconvincing. The MJF-Samoa Joe segment was good, but not great; I'm hoping these two are saving some better promo battles for down the line because neither man brought their A game here. Strong-Beretta was well-wrestled but a little uninteresting, although I am enjoying Matt Taven's background work as Roddy's flunky. Toni Storm's grand diva character continues to captivate; she isn't actually that great a promo but the gimmick is unique and unhinged enough that it doesn't really matter. I really liked Swerve and Hangman's promo segment; Swerve talks like a real person rather than someone cutting a promo, which damages the reaction from the live audience but it makes him feel a lot more compelling and menacing. A programme between these two should be absolutely sensational. Allin-Wayne had a good story to it, which was mostly carried by Allin because Nick Wayne is not a good actor. Not the best match in terms of exciting in-ring action, but very logical and well put-together. There was some good stuff on this show, but the majority of the matches had a so-so, just-kinda-there feeling to them."
[7.0] "Pretty good episode. I loved the Statlander/Sakura match and wish it got just a few more minutes, if only to qualify for the matchguide. Definitely feels like we're setting up some new, refreshing storylines post All-Out, like Swerve/Hangman and Callis's next target. A decent balance of wrestling and promos, but nothing too standout to bring it into greatness. I loved Swerve's promo despite his flubs, and MJF/Joe was great as well. Joe running away from Adam Cole felt a bit silly but I get it, he has to be protected. The Grand Slam tournament is way, way too abrupt to actually make an impact on me, but that's just a personal disdain for how swiftly and abruptly Tony books tournaments. Hopefully we can continue the trend of AEW being booked sensibly and simply following All-Out."
[6.0] "I want to give it a 6.5/10 but there's no option but I didn't think it was a strong enough episode for 7. This Dynamite I'll agree with others definitely flowed much better than a usual Dynamite or any pro wrestling show post 2017 to be honest. I think Mox's match was alright for his first defense, I mean I never actually thought he was about to drop the title so soon so yeah... I always love MJF's segments and the promo battle between him and Samoa Joe was a instant classic.. good lines and reactions.. and continuing the injured neck of MJF angle from a few days past. Women's match was good for what I thought it was going to be, I think the tag match with Le Sex Gods and Aussie Open was the best overall match on the show from a in ring and crowd pov but not so much for storytelling. Then we get to 2 AEW World Championship title eliminator tournament matches and it BLOWS my mind that they would have the Roderick Strong vs Trent Beretta match and Darby vs Nick Wayne match on their main show over SAMOA JOE vs JEFF HARDY (which they put on Rampage) like what? That should have main evented tonight and pushed Darby vs Nick to Collision to continue their stuff with Christian and the TNT title there but oh well.. if Joe vs Hardy was on this Dynamite even if it was only a mid match it would have been enough for me to care enough to give it a 7. I think the show also loses points for failing to have Adam Cole, MJF, Samoa Joe, Kenny Omega, or Takeshita involved in a match... like how are none of those names (besides Joe and MJF (c)) not in the AEW World Title tournament but Trent is.. oh because Trent beat Mox? Well Mox is the new International champion why isn't Trent trying to avenge his best friend Orange Cassidy's loss? Idk sometimes the booking of matches and tournaments can mess up a show. Other than that solid show for who was on it and what they were given."
[8.0] "Well this comment will primarily be for the Kris Statlander vs Emi Sakura match since it went sub-5 and that means nobody is allowed to comment. A silly rule but hey, here we are. It was a fantastic match that from the jump Emi went after, showing she is indeed one of their top workers even if she is in her 40s. She gives a running crossbody into the steel steps a minute into the match and that kinda rules. The chop battle her and Kris had had the crowd popping crazy, it was beautiful. But yes this whole show was quite good and built their future stories nicely."
[9.0] "One of the better Dynamites they've run. Open challenge on the IC belt, but the match was a great 8 minute TV thing and it fed into a couple different storylines coming and going. Sakura vs Statlander might legitimately be the best sub-5 minute match in promotion history. Jericho and Guevara running as faces against Aussie Open would be a confused match a couple months ago, but here it's a highlight of the night, with Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis providing the best sells for the Codebreaker and Judas Effect since Jericho was in New Japan. Roddy vs Trent reminded everyone how Roddy would be a megastar if it didn't require a comedy angle with a neckbrace and Tavon/Bennett talking to get him over. And if you watched the FITE feed, Darby/Wayne was a great proof of concept building to, hopefully, Christian/Wayne at WrestleDream, despite some of the dumbest ad placements of all time."
"Not going to rate because I did not see the whole show, so maybe it was better explained and I missed it, but why in the ever-loving heck would Nick Wayne qualify for a world title tournament? ! He has had ONE singles match in AEW, which he lost. He also lost the TNT Title contender battle royale. It is emblematic of the booking issues in AEW at the moment that, even when they have a good match-up that they can trot out on TV, it has little to no build, and it does not make logical sense. Yes a tournament is a good vehicle to get the student vs. teacher match without starting a feud, but if that is the case, have Nick Wayne pull an upset on an established wrestler in order to qualify. They try so hard to make everyone look good that no one does, and they are clearly booking by the seats of their pants with no foresight except for the main event scene."
[10.0] "It felt like Mid-South Tony started coming back. A refreshing restart after the entire Punk debacle. A lot of great wrestling and even better in-ring storytelling. They cut down on the WWE goofiness a LOT this week and I could not be happier. The MJF/Samoa Joe interaction was FANTASTIC, I did not even mind when they started off doing The Rock bits on each other. The Hangman/Swerve stuff was really good as well. I did not see that as a feud I wanted, but they sure sold it to me. Toni Storm was great as always, and Stat/Emi was the best AEW women's match in a long time. Great stuff coming out of the PPV and it felt refreshing after the past few weeks."
[8.0] "A bit of a weird transitional episode but I enjoyed it since a lot of it flowed well from one thing to the next. Oddly, MJF & Joe having a promo battle was a little weak, Joe killed it but Max was really far below his standard here. The Hangman/Swerve segment, Roddy's entire gimmick right now, OC looking like a made man, and more Toni promos made up for it though. Stat/Emi and Roddy/Trent were really enjoyable slugfests (Stat/Emi was ***1/4+ since it's not Matchguide eligible) while the other matches were fine, though the main event lost the plot a few times. Hoping Sammy's going heel again against Jericho because the dude is not a good face."
[8.0] "Absolutely one of the best dynamites in a long time, great flow to the show very easy to watch, the womens match was incredibly short which I thought sucked by the match itself was fucking great, give that match like 3 extra minutes off of Trent? and Roddy and it would have been perfect, but thats nitpicking, setting up alot of storylines, lotta good wrestling and alot of good story being built, great feuds being set up in Hangman/Swerve, all in all exactly what I want to see, the show actually felt like it was under control for the first time in a very long time."
