Danach sofort wieder die hart gepushten Mädels von Toxic Attraction. Allesamt zeigen erneut mehr Bein als Charaktertiefe. Malik Blade versprüht harte Reno Riggins Vibes, während Valentino Feroz schmerzhaft feststellen muss, dass Ivy Nile nicht Amari Miller ist. Und Ikemen Jiro macht in Richtung Roderick Strong Andeutungen, es auf dessen Gürtel abgesehen zu haben, scheitert aber bereits deutlich am Türsteher Julius Creed. Kushida will retten, gerät aber selbst unter die Räder, welche die Diamond Mine darstellt. Danach gibt es einen Sieg der Zweckgemeinschaft Von Wagner & O'Reilly Ob sich das Vertrauen aber auch mittel- bis langfristig auszahlen wird? Derweil überrascht mich Hudsons fixer Erfolg über Waller deutlich mehr, als der Sieg von Pirotta und Hartwell, welche noch auf Wolke Sieben ihre Resultate reinschwebt. Carmelo Hayes ist dann neben Von Wagner und Bron Breakker der dritte wirklich massiv gepushte Newcomer der letzten Wochen und casht mit dem Freifahrtschein des Sieges im Breakout-Turnier in bester MITB seine Option ein. Leidtragender ist Swerve Scott, aber der ist doch mit seinen Leutchen ohnehin gedraftet worden, so dass der Titelverlust Sinn ergibt. Trotzdem ist diese Episode denkbar schwach auf der Brust und liefert nur wenige Highlights. |

Gute Mischung der Matchlayouts, das Spotlight auf die neuen Gesichter ist immer noch etwas ausufernd, aber man kann hier viel mitnehmen. Joey Gacy z.B. wird wirklich passend aufgebaut und macht das in Promo, Match und Segment einfach gut. Spannend auch, wohin es Harland nun zieht. Woke Left vs Alt Right könnte mit dem Segment wohl hoffentlich vom Tisch sein. Spannende Konstellation in jedem Fall. Der Champ macht es im Opener auch würdig. Toxic Attraction bekommt weiterhin viel Aufmerksamkeit und das nutzen die Damen nicht immer gleich gut, aber sie erarbeiten sich schon das gewisse Etwas. Für Halloween Havoc bekommt ein Superstar ein Makeover, nehme ich ja immer gerne mit. Besonders in der jetzigen Zeit sind da ja durchaus ein paar Möglichkeiten mehr da. Quinn wird weiter behutsam aufgebaut, aber darf ruhig mehr Persönlichkeit zeigen dabei. Zu den Neuerungen bei NXT gehört dann wohl auch, dass mehr Booking-Muster von RAW und SmackDown übernommen werden. So tritt Breakker dann an der Seite von Ciampa gegen die GYV an. Nun denn. Die Paarung mag ich trotzdem. Die Diamond Mine-Mitglieder bekommen passende Showcase-Squashes und können davon profitieren, wobei Ivy doch noch etwas grün wirkt. Raquel mit einer ordentlichen Promo und anschließend eine Lashing Out-Ausgabe ohne viel Mehrwert. Kyle und Von Wagner werden etabliert und zeigen da ein ordentliches Tag-Match mit Dunne und dem scheidenden und daher Pin fressenden Holland. So langsam werde ich warm mit der Chase University und auch Andre Chase. Überrascht mich selbst etwas. Hätte nicht gedacht, dass der irgendwie reinpasst. Anders bei Tony DAngelo. Der ist weiter stabil dabei und dürfte sich kurzerhand zum Kult hocharbeiten. Hudson und Waller hätten ruhig mehr Zeit bekommen können, aber mit dem Finish ist da ja noch etwas mehr drin. Der Aufbau für das Main Event gelang in der Show-Eröffnung schon, aber auch das Interview von Scott und die Promo von Escobar machen das gut. Imperium halten eine Promo in der Muttersprache und das gibt schon einen guten Touch. Hoffentlich geht es für die Herren so weiter. Indi wird nun an der Seite von Persia etabliert und das funktioniert soweit. Hätte nur gedacht, dass man für Sarray einen besseren Plan hätte. Das Segment im Anschluss ist etwas mau. Grimes bekommt wohl auch ein Makeover und das ist dann wieder typisch WWE. Kaum jemand war so over vor der 2.0-Umstellung und dann bekommt er wohl das Makeover. Lässige Vignette für Sikoa und am Ende spielt man dann schön mit dem Erwartungen und Automatismen des Wrestlinggeschäfts. Sehenswertes Main Event und gutes Showing von Hayes im Anschluss. Sitzt! |

| 23 | 14.10.2021 | BLooD | 4.0 | Schlechte Ausgabe von NXT 2.0. Der Opener war in Ordnung. Gacy bekommt keine Titelchance was klar war. Nach dem Match wird Ciampa von jemandem attackiert versehen mit Tattoos und einer Glatze. Es ähnelt sehr aus einem Clan aus Days Gone. Dieser Jenige krümmt Gacy kein Haar. Blade vs Quinn war schlecht. Quinn muss im Ring zulegen und wenn er das tut sehe ich ihn in den oberen Regionen dieses Brands. Die Women waren solide. Ivy ist eine Killerin und ich möchte gerne mehr von ihr sehen. Für mich hat sie Potential zu einem Star. Julius Creed vs Jiro war schlecht. Während Ivy strahl herrscht bei den Creed richtige Langeweile. Als Singles Wrestler ist zumindest einer der Creeds noch furchtbarer als im Tag-Team Bereich. Holland und Dunne vs Wagner und O'Reilly war in Ordnung. Mal sehen ob man überhaupt ein Segment macht wenn man Dunne und Holland trennt. Wagner ist noch langweilig kann sich aber noch ändern. Waller vs Hudson war schlecht. Hudson ist jetzt ein Poker Spieler. Ahja. Da hatte ich ihn als cocky Heel lieber. Mit Waller hat man einen heimlich Publikumsliebling. Es wäre zu schade ihn jobben zu sehen. Die Women #2 waren schlecht. Indi und ihre neue Partnerin Persia visieren die NXT Womens Tag-Team Titel an aber auch Toxic Attraction sind daran interessiert. So treten die drei Teams bei Halloween Havoc gegeneinander an. Der Main-Event war gut. Starkes Match was man in letzten Wochen bei dieser Show nicht erwarten und sehen konnte. Man musste Scott irgendwie den Titel abnehmen und man setzt Hayes Breakout Tournament Vertrag als eine Art Money in the Bank Koffer ein. Nach Scott erfolgreicher Titelverteidigung holt sich Hayes den Titel. Eine ganz kleine Steigerung ist zu sehen aber es sind immernoch viel zu viele Matches. |

Opening match was meh, Joe Gacy's not that good in the ring to begin with but I am beginning to enjoy his gimmick now that I'm viewing it from the angle of the typically unintentional, oblivious self-parody of conservative "values" and perspectives of the zeitgeist. It's meta and pretentious and over-analyzing things, I know, but it's the only thing keeping me from injecting bleach out of embarrassment any time he's on my screen. Vince must've watched 1917 over the weekend because the entire first quarter of the show is essentially one extended segment, with wrestlers continually interrupting what's going on to make their entrances, which is weird and makes the show look like amateur hour that can't manage its time well. Actually... maybe he watched an episode of Dynamite instead? I did love the double-squashes from Diamond Mine, who at this point are undeniably the best thing about this show. Both Nile and Creed looked amazing and I'm looking forward to seeing all of them start having more competitive matches. Cro-Magnon Man is starting to grow on me, getting a good chance to shine sharing the ring with two very good wrestlers and also Ridge Holland. While KOR should be doing better things I don't hate the idea of them tagging together regularly. Duke "The Gambler" Hudson (lmao) and Grayson Waller, who are apparently two different people, had a match, I dunno. Then Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta, who are apparently two different people, squash... I dunno, some wrestler...? and FUCKING SARRAY. Why did WWE even bother bringing in one of the hottest joshi stars for this? I can't come up with any foreign wrestler with this much cred who's been as poorly used in NXT in a long time, if ever. Oh I almost forgot about Muscular Samoan Street Fighter Xyon Quinn's squash, probably because of the promo for Muscular Samoan Street Fighter Sefa Fatu's imminent debut. How much y'all wanna bet those two are put into a tag team? Lash Larue is still terrible, in case anyone was wondering or even cares, again mentioning whatever is popular this week without any attempt at wit and obviously reading out lines written by a bunch of white people who spent about fifteen minutes on Black Twitter, sounding like a robot the entire time. Conversely, Tony D'Angelo is still both ironically and unironically hilarious. I can't get enough of this dude. Not really looking forward to The Failed Pornstars Collective winning all the gold at Halloween Havoc but what are ya gonna do. Main event was great, really loved Scott's urgency in the match, although I don't know how I feel about Hayes' contract suddenly being a MITB folder. Despite how predictable it was it was well-executed and I'm intrigued by a Carmello Hayes NA Title run. Overall a big step up from the last few weeks of NXT 2.0 but still not very good. Just wish they would quit trying to cram as much shit as possible into two hours. |

Mit dem Opener, Tag Team Match und Man Event hatte man immerhin auch 3 längere Matches. Einiges ist immer noch schwach und wirkt ziellos, aber vielleicht pendelt sich es langsam ein. Die Szene mit Harland und Gacy war einfach nur cringe. Manches bleibt aber auch schlicht uninteressant. Pluspunkt noch für Grumpy Io. |

There's still way too many squash matches though, but they did focus on talents like the Diamond Mine and Indi Hartwell's new tag partner Persia Pirotta, though I'm not happy about Sarray losing. Just hope they find something that brings younger viewers back, as a median age of 62 is just ridiculous. |

Opener was a decent match, the tag match was a good showcase for Cal Bloom, and the main event was really solid with a cool twist, or a "swerve" in this case, with Carmelo winning the title. Everything else was typical NXT 2.0 affair, with far too many squashes. Sarray needs to get called up ASAP because her getting squashed in the tag division is outrageous. I am however a fan of how the women's tag division is actually shaping up to be decent. Ivy Nile was quite impressive in her debut, and Julius Creed has potential to be a massive star. Hopefully as some of these talents progress we start getting longer matches, but I'm not getting any hopes up. A fine show overall, hoping the next few weeks can build on this newfound momentum, with longer matches and less squashes. |
