[After defeating the Young Bucks, Sting, alongside a bloodied Darby Allin are stood in the ring following a cathartic victory in Sting's last match.]
Darby Allin: "Let's show some love for the Stinger, please."
[The crowd comes unglued with a long ovation, chanting 'thank you, Sting!' Sting takes it in while Darby passed a microphone to him.]
Sting: "Thank you, Greensboro. To be honest with you, I've been thanking you all since March of 1988. The 'Nature Boy,' Sting, 45-minute draw for the world title. Thank you, Ric. I don't even know if Ric is still here, but thank you, Ric. Greensboro, you were incredible in '88 and beyond, all the way 'til this very night. I've been sayin' in all kinds of interviews, I just want this to be a night that wrestling fans will not forget. [The crowd applauds.] The kind of wrestling that'll be etched in your minds for years to come. And it is me that's saying this is a night that I will never forget. Thank you, Greensboro! You were awesome! [The crowd chants 'thank you, Sting!']
Yeah. This is definitely a time to give thanks, for sure. Thank you to the greatest tag team partner I've ever had, Darby Allin. [The crowd cheers for Darby.] I wonder how many stitches this is going to require tonight."
Darby Allin: "I said I was gonna die in your last match but, I'm still breathing."
Sting: "Y'know, from the very first time I saw Darby in action: he's a risktaker. I was a risktaker in my old days, but y'know, I'm kind of old now, but I'm still a risktaker. [The crowd chants 'you still got it!' Meanwhile, Darby alerts Sting that AEW's pay-per-view feed was set to go off the air.] I gotta wait, I'm getting cues, hold on.
This night was surreal in many ways. The video package that you saw before we got to the ring. These are the exact boots, tights and jacket that I wore way back when against the 'Nature Boy.' And then in later years, we got some cool Wolfpac Sting goin' on right here. We're off the air now, so I can do that. Yeah. Y'know what, Greensboro? You still got it. Man, I just, I don't have any words than thank you, I love you all so much. Yeah. Y'know what? I'd like to call another very important person out. Alright, you ready for this? It wouldn't be possible... without Tony Khan. Tony! This is my last night, so I can say this: Tony, hustle! C'mon!"
[Tony Khan comes out from backstage. He points to all the broken glass at ringside before stepping in the ring and hugging Sting.]
Tony Khan: "Thank you very much, Greensboro. Thank you for being part of the greatest wrestling pay-per-view ever! There's been a lot of great nights in this building, thank you very much for being here... to celebrate... 'The Icon,' Sting!"
Darby Allin: [More 'thank you, Sting' chants.] "I really don't know what else there is to say. I really don't. The fact that Tony Khan felt Sting deserved this, and you guys gave it to him. And he performed-- he said that he'd leave absolutely nothing left in this ring by the end of the night, and I hope felt that you got your money's worth. I guess I'll have Sting have the final word. I'm gonna go to the hospital real quick."
Sting: "Darby, text me and let me know how many stitches you get for all that. What about... what abouuuuut... ladies and gentlemen, Tony Schiavoneeeee." [The crowd chants for Tony, as he removes his headset and grabs the microphone.]
Tony Schiavone: "Hey, I'm not going to get in the ring because it's this man's [Sting's] moment, but would you like an 'it's Stiiiing?' Okay, first of all, Tony Khan, how much are you going to pay me to say it this time? Nah, I'm kidding, I'll say it for free: it's Stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing! You're the man, Sting!"
[The entire AEW locker room comes out to the stage, clapping for Sting with the crowd. Sting is stood alone in the ring, as the crowd chants 'thank you, Sting' for the final time. His sons step into the ring with him, hugging him to close the show.]
