| 3 | 02.03.2026 | 69jumbo69 | 9.0 | It is really hard to rate an entire promotion. Especially one that has been around as long as All Japan has. But for the first 28 years of its existence, AJPW what the place to be. I won't go on and on about the reasons for the high rating. If you're here you probably know already. If we were just measuring from 1972 to 2000, AJPW would probably be the only promotion I would give a 10. However, after the NOAH exodus, things have been very hit and miss. The modern state of the company is a very far cry away from its glory years. But those glory years hold up extremely well. So while it should probably be an 8, I feel comfortable giving it a 9. |

| 5 | 04.02.2026 | ItsAllAWorkAnyway | 7.0 | Once upon a time, All Japan Pro Wrestling was one of the mot dominant wrestling promotions in Japan (and for good reason, their Carnival Road style was intense, hard-hitting, and featured fantastic performances from native and foreign talent alike.) But then Giant Baba passed away, which set the stage for an exodus that led to the formation of NOAH and the devolution of the AJPW brand. That said, the promotion is starting to enjoy a resurgence under Tsuyoki Fukuda's leadership and can still draw a four-figure crowd out to their events; allowing them to carry on AJPW's legacy without relegating the promotion to the antiquity of defunct promotions. |

Still have a lot of great talent in it's roster despite controversies and drawbacks. AJPW seems to be building up its lost fanbase with more attention from Japan fans and hardcore wrestling fans in general. I do hope AJPW rises to the occasion and continues their rebuild. |
| 10 | 02.01.2026 | Mark4Lyfe | 8.0 | All Japan Pro Wrestling isn't the cultural juggernaut it was in the 90s or early 2000s, but it still feels authentic in a way a lot of modern wrestling doesn't. The in-ring work is consistently strong, the matches are paced with purpose, and there's a clear respect for fundamentals and long-term storytelling. You can tell this is a promotion that still values wrestling first. That said, AJPW does feel a bit understated at times. The roster depth and buzz don't always match the quality of the matches, and it can struggle to feel must-watch compared to flashier or more global promotions. But when they hit, they really hit--especially in big singles matches and tag tournaments. Overall, AJPW is a promotion for fans who appreciate substance over spectacle. It may not dominate the conversation anymore, but it's still a very solid, reliable product that earns its respect through consistency rather than hype. |

But after the exodus of talent during the 2000s and the creation of Noah the company definitely took a dip. There were certaintly some bright points but it feels like it took a major step back compared to the rest of the Japanese promotions. Honestly if it weren't for guys like Miyohara I'm not even sure the this promotion would still be around. But thankfully in 2025 I can truly say it feels like they are on the upswing especially with the wealth of young talent they have on their roster now. Guys like Yuma Anzai, Aoyagi brothers, and the Saito brothers just to name a few have all been booked and pushed very well to the point where I would say they are doing a bette job than New Japan in getting these guys over. Even though I don't think All Japan will ever reach the peak they were once I still they are a great alternative/counterpart to New Japan and are able to produce great stars and matches. |

There's so many wrestler stories about how great of a businessman and gentleman Giant Baba was. I love watching AJPW matches from the 70s-90s. That's some of the best professional wrestling I've ever seen. Since Misawa defected with an entire roster to start NOAH, All Japan hasn't recovered. They're currently a lot like the NWA now. A name with a lot of rich history but it's a shell of what it used to be. Baba's All Japan lasted 27 years and now it's 26 without. If someone rated this company a 5 I'd completely understand. However, I think the 90's were the best decade for them and even if that was all they had, it would still be enough. |

Mainstays such as Giant Baba himself, Hansen, Brody, Terry Gordy, Dr. Death, Misawa, The Funks, etc. I mean, we're talking a who's who of professional wrestling. Some of my favorite matches to watch were from All Japan. The 90's was peak All Japan Pro Wrestling. |

These four alongside Akiyama, Hansen, Steve Williams and many more kept pushing the boundaries to achieve the best wrestling imaginable. Of course, it came at the price of their health and their bodies (look no further than Misawa himself), but they cared and loved the sport and the business. It was beautiful, just beautiful. Giant Baba brought the fans more than they ever imagined and thirty-five years later and we're still amazed at the performance of these men. Nowadays, the promotion is nowhere near its prime, but it keeps doing its best and is on an upturn despite a couple of bumps here and there and the terrible decline it experienced in 2000 after the exodus and the change of status quo. Nevertheless, AJPW has an incredible legacy and inspires many to lace their boots and go all out. |

| 71 | 15.09.2024 | Zak22 | 10.0 | For me All Japan Pro Wrestling is the greatest wrestling promotion the world has ever seen. Sure, its on hard times now but from the 70s to the early 2000s AJPW was consistently putting on amazing matches with legendary Japanese and international talents from Baba, Tsuruta, Misawa, Kawada and, the Great Muta to Vader, the Funks and Stan Hansen, the best in the world wrestled in AJPW. The 1990s AJPW main event scene is the most consistently brilliant main event scene in wrestling history and AJPW has always been known for their great tag matches. Unlike NJPW, AJPW never really had an amazing Junior Heavyweight division but they still showcased talents like The Great Sasuke, Hayabusa and, Shinzaki. AJPW for a solid three decades optimised class, tradition and quality. These days they struggle but still have some great talent and some very good matches, it would be the biggest blow to pro wrestling if AJPW was to ever close its doors. I can't give a promotion with such an amazing and at times tragic history as All Japan anything less than a 10. Truly the best of all time. |

Obviously the company not at the level it was in 90s but offers a lot more than New Japan currently does (NJPW is too predictable). Just a shame Nakajimas reign with Triple Crown was too short but apart from that AJPW has a lot of good going for it and more people outside of Japan really need to check them out and you wont regret it. |
| 77 | 28.06.2024 | ChikawaStyle | 7.0 | the only promotion in Japan right now that's on an upswing right now (thanks Marigold), a truly return of the old era, even if the match quality this year has been... less than satisfying. Without Kento, Yuma, Hayato, and Saito Brothers, this company might quite literally be done for. |

They may have the best young talent in the country, and there talent around the top title matches any other company in the country. When it comes to live shows, you would be hard pressed to find a company that will put on a better show. AJPW will generally provide a better card than any other company, barring a major monthly show from a top company. |

The mass exodus in 2000 almost killed All Japan stone dead, which is a shame because the King's Road style is insanely good. But they persevere and whilst it's probably never gonna compete with the juggernaut that is NJPW again, they're quietly and confidently putting on really good matches for a somewhat different taste. A great Pepsi to NJPW's Coke, if you will. |
| 93 | 29.02.2024 | rasslinbiz | | Just getting into AJPW.tv and am excited to figure out how to tune into the matches they have available based on the data the community has generated here. I used to use ditch.us back in college to access matches from the 90s, and have been excited to see Nakajima headlining the promotion now, though there's so much I would love to go back and see. Too bad I cannot find any of Joe Doering's title defenses on All Japan's streaming network! |

However, the mass departure of talent in the 2000s and the emergence of NOAH had a profound impact, and AJPW hasn't fully rebounded. Despite featuring remarkable talents like Miyahara and hosting some impressive matches. |
