His 6'2 height makes him taller than most wrestlers today (if you care about that) combined with his muscular build and a handsome face puts him in the top tier of the looks department. He also brings a charismatic goofy energy which he knows how to tone according to the situation. This combination of athleticism, looks, charisma and character work makes him one of the best wrestlers of this generation, if not the best."

[9.0] "I've been a fan of Shane Haste since he and Mikey debuted in NXT, didn't know much about them before then. Shane was heavily held back in-ring and on the mic in NXT/Main Roster and I don't think he was given much of a chance, unless you count SLAPJACK. When watching his run in the G1 and his appearances in ROH and AEW, he seems like a completely different wrestler, similar to how he moved about 10 years before. Very charismatic in the ring and on the microphone, great wrestler."

[9.0] "shane haste is an unsung hero in njpw right now. he is a great tag team wrestler with mikey nicholls, but hes very underrated on his own. his match with tetsuya naito was one of my favorites in the entire g1 this year and he was always great in noah. shanes wwe run was disappointing unfortunately. he and mikey looked like they were heading towards big things in nxt but shane had a big knee injury that stopped their run. then the slapjack and retribution gimmick happened before shane got released. his njpw run had been a lot of fun so far and im looking forward to his future in the company."

This was especially true at this year's Declaration of Power event where he fought Zack Sabre Jr. I think with further effort and the right booking, he's more than capable of becoming a major wrestling star."

[8.0] "Athletic, dynamic and quick are the best words to describe Shane Thorne. The Slapjack gimmick was absolutely horrible, just like the whole entire stable, but Shane Thorne would definitely be able to become a great heel. WWE need to get their booking right, otherwise they'll waste yet another fantastic talent."

[4.0] "I just wanted to copy and paste the comment I wrote for his ertwhile partner Mikey Nicholls and be done with it but he deserves a personalized comment. Like Nicholls Shane Haste/Slapjack is symbolic of my growing disconnect with younger wrestling fans: he's average in the ring (and I am probably being too generous) and worse outside of it but somehow I am supposed to believe he's a misunderstood superstar in the making who just needs better booking to become the next John Cena or Chris Jericho. I don't know: Nicholls was exactly the same before his inexplicable stint in NJPW laid bare for all to see he's just another indie guy: he's fine to watch at the local show but has no business working for a major promotion. Shane Haste is just the same, only people are willing to cut him more slack because of his laughable WWE ring name and having been part of one of the most laughable stables in recent WWE memory. We have had folks like them pass through the WWF, WCW and Crockett undercard by the dozen back in the days: they aren't bad but... come one."

They were above average in the ring, but that can only carry you so far. When Miller left, Thorne was mostly hung out to dry. I think there could be something to him, but I'm not sure he'll ever have much of an impact under the WWE umbrella. It feels like he's going to be an enhancement talent from here on out."

Whether its technical or high flying he can put on a good match almost all the time. Good look, solid charisma, very athletic, he will be great on the main roster with Nick Miller or not."

[8.0] "I watched Shane Haste for the first time on Showdown In The Sun Night 1 and while his partner, Mikey Nichols was pretty ok at best, Shane definitely gained a new great fan of him and his work in me! He really honestly proved to me that he was the way better performer out of that tag team from Australia! Not only did he make The Briscoes look like a million bucks by how well he took whatever offense The Briscoes had to dish out, but when I watched him work, I was immediately impressed so much by his amazing talents that he possesses within him! Not only is he very athletic, but his athleticism combined with innovative offense and smash mouth toughness won me over immediately! I don't care if Mikey Nichols is with him or not, I really hope we see more of Shane Haste in ROH one way or another and hopefully we even see him added onto the ROH roster cause that's how much Shane has impressed me!"
