[7.0] "EDIT: He's grown on me, so we're adding additional points. As Moondog Rex, his team with King was not that good. However, the paring with Spot had notable chemistry with an enjoyable team dynamic as well. I also feel as Moondog Rex, there was mostly solid work in the singles undercard. I never complained about him being an Assassin knock off, the gimmick was foolish but his work was acceptable. The Nightmare character was fine enough, that worked for me. I certainly prefer him masked. The first coupla Demolition matches were woeful, there was absolutely no way the team would have gotten over with him awkwardly shuffling about. The Shadows is a guilty pleasure; he went harder with his ring work, pushed himself. The Detroit Demolition bit was awkward and just made him look oddly desperate. Then he went on a spree of masked gimmicks in WCW: all of these were solid, he added depth to the card. He even made a return as Moondog Rex in WCW! He fit in fine as television time filler and by this point really hit his stride and was able to keep a faster pace. Thankfully Dead Eye Dick never made it to television beyond those stupid skits. The caveats are sometimes he was a blatant underachiever and could be a chore to watch. There are also moments where he seems ill fitting for the time period. The bad Randy Colley is rather rough but a good recommendation would be the match where he won the North American Title from Terry Taylor in Mid South (aired June 1st 1985). 6.75"

[5.0] "Rex could have had a very memorable career but bad luck worked against him. First Rex got a chance to be part of the Moondog tagteam with Sailor White and the guys were given the titles. Sadly Sailor wouldn't be dependable enough to remain in the team and when Spot was brought in to replace him and then Spike... the gimmick lost all steam with the fans and became an opening comedy routine. Just as it seamed hopeless for Rex, he got tapped to be part of the highly successful Demolition Gimmick. This is where fate really ruined the day for Rex though as the fan's quickly recognized the wrestler through the face paint. Rex had to abandon the new character and fame was denied to him. In the ring, Rex was nothing special. He had size... he had power... he wasn't going to be able to cut a promo or stand out in a single's match."
