[10.0] "Larry Sweeney is a classic example of a guy born in the wrong decade. If he had been around 20 years earlier, he would've been the perfect wrestling persona, rivaling guys like Bobby Heenan and Jim Cornette as an all-time best manager and commentator. Admittedly he was nothing spectacular when it came to in-ring work, but he always put on at least watchable matches. His mic skills, charm, and charisma are what put him over the top for me and why I give him the perfect 10. It's a damn shame we lost him so soon."

[8.0] "Though solid enough in the ring, "Sweet 'n' Sour" Larry Sweeney's greatest attribute by far was his overwhelming charisma and personality, and he was able to successfully translate the concept of the old-school manager into the modern wrestling world. Unfortunately before truly reaching his prime as a performer or the heights he could potentially rise to, he would lose his battle with mental health; a tragedy of course for the obvious reasons, but also because the wrestling world lost a performer who might have gone down as one of the all-time great managers."

He made independent wrestling look better than ever. He was popular in the indies. Great at promos and his moves were excellent. Reminds me a bit of Ric Flair and Macho Man! Very sad he died so young."

I had the pleasure of knowing him briefly when he wrestled here in Western Pennsylvania, and he was an all around good guy outside of the business as well."

[8.0] "Larry Sweeney wasn't exactly the best wrestler in the world, however, what he lacked in technical wizardry, he made up for in mic skill, and being one of the greatest heels on the indie circuit. Larry Sweeney was the epitome of charisma, and his death has left a huge hole in the wrestling world which has yet to be filled in this very day."
