[8.0] "My loathing towards him as a youth was misguided but understandable. As an adult, I think I am liking this way more than I should but his timing, golly he was ON IT! When he reinvented himself as "Bunkhouse Buck", WCW needed legitimately capable veterans who would produce well oiled wrestling and you will find that here. That and being in tag matches with Arn Anderson and/or Dick Slater always helps. 7.75"

[3.0] "A very bland wrestler that lacked athleticism and charisma. Match quality was never good and I guess you could call him an old school brawler. I don? t think anyone was excited for a match of his."

[2.0] "Not that good. The only good moves he had were his kicks and jumping off the turnbuckle for a very tall guy at 6"5. The rest of his moves were lame. The gimmick he had was dreadful in WCW. He cheated to win using the brass knuckles. He wrestled some top wrestlers like Sting, and Dustin Rhodes. He teamed with Dick Slater as won the WCW tag titles. He's too lanky. He was not like his relatives. In WWE being Jack Swagger's father (kayfabe) was stupid. One of the stupidest storylines ever. He's still wrestling at 69 years old in the inides. He needs to retire, no good."

[6.0] "A solid hand with an old-school ring style and gimmick, Jimmy Golden/Bunkhouse Buck may not have had the flash or charisma to be a top star, but he did well for himself in the undercard and tag team ranks, with old-school gimmick matches like the Bunkhouse Brawl and Bullrope match often being his shining moments. Perhaps most notable for claiming the WCW World Tag Team Title with Dick Slater. In more recent years, he answers an amusing trivia question for having randomly popped up to play Jack Swagger's father in 2010 WWE."

[6.0] "He's definitely an old school brawler and there's nothing wrong with that. He always seemed to thrive in gimmick matches so I kind of wonder how he would have done had the bulk of his career been in a more gimmicky promotion than WCW."

[7.0] "Great Southern territory wrestler as Jimmy Golden for the majority of his career, but got his notable run in WCW as the fun throwback character Bunkhouse Buck, that saw him paired with long-term ally Robert Fuller again. Never a groundbreaking wrestler, but perfect in his role, no matter where he was wrestling."
