[8.0] "David was the Arn Anderson of southern indie wrestling. His work in Bad Attitude with Rick Michaels was great, and TNA should have used him much better than they did."

[6.0] "THE CAB DRIVER SLAM! THE CAB DRIVER SLAM! David Young was a talented indie star with a bad look. And underrated and underutilized talent in TNA, he acted as a jobber and played the role well. He had a great spinebuster and despite looking like your alcoholic uncle could bust out moonsaults and crossbodys like nothing. Though he was never gonna set the world on fire, he fulfilled his role perfectly and had great matches with Rick Michaels as Bad Attitude."

[6.0] "David is very good in the ring. A tough guy with impressive stamina considering his beef. His matches were consistent and he had a terrific spinebuster. I enjoyed his losing streak in TNA, as well as his time with Elix Skipper and Simon Diamond as Diamonds in the Rough. He also seemed to have good chemistry with AJ Styles dating back to their days in NWA Wildside. An underrated powerhouse who never really got his due. Side note: I think he may be QT Marshall's father."

[4.0] "Though not a charisma powerhouse, David Young had enough in-ring skill, including a nice rendition of the Anderson spinebuster, to make it as a mainstay on the lower-level indies and have a run as an undercarder and tag specialist in TNA, though he's unlikely to rise above that level."
