[9.0] "Super underrated in my opinion especially when it comes to foreign wrestlers in Japan. Brookes is truly a jack of all trades kind of guy in that you can pretty much put him in any position in any type of match and he excels. Whether it's comedy, hardcore, or even just straight up technical wrestler he does great and can carry himself as a champion if need be. Also knows how to make great use of his height while being very athletic and agile at the same time. Very over with the DDT audience as well and truly feels like a pillar of the company at this point while also seemingly being a super nice guy outside the ring."

"[9.0] Top tier wrestler, literally everything you'd want in a wrestler. being able to put on hardcore matches or slowing the pace in technical matches. he's a wrestler who can lead any company and any division if you put your time and faith into him"

"An all around great wrestler. Extremely charismatic and charming. Really over with the crowd. Fits the Japanese style so much and is a lovable wrestler. A reliable worker and a fantastic performer and entertainer. Giving flowers for him."

[9.0] "Just an all round great wrestler doing the UK proud. Wish his KO-D Open title reign had gone longer but still continues to put in great performances in DDT and keeps me coming back plus also has a great knack for comedy when needed. Updated December 2024 - Great to see he has KO-D belt once again proving his top status in DDT"

[10.0] "For my money, one of the very best people in the business. He is a self-made brand that has never compromised himself or the talents he works with. He can absolutely go in the ring, and has a great move-set that he can adapt for anyone. He's always giving, and always aware of his size disparity and how to use it in a way that gets smaller talent over while still keeping his own aura. He's a masterful heel when he needs to be, a brilliant comic, an artist with multiple creative avenues, and one of the kindest, most interesting people you can talk to after a show is over. He still mans his own booth to this day after shows, selling his own stuff and just shooting the shit with anyone that talks to him. Wrestling is a better place with him and his talent in it."

[10.0] "i owe a lot of my taste in wrestling to chris brookes. i used to be big into the british independent scene and brookes was my favorite, when he travelled to ddt i decided to check out ddt and it has become one of my favorite promotions, then he began in chocopro and it led me to checking them out too. i never really realized how much brookes has been a part of my fandom in wrestling until fairly recently. he is such a fluid technician while also being very good in violent hard hitting matches, sometimes even hardcore/deathmatches. seeing him become the first ddt universal champion was very exciting, although i had never seen the match because i didnt have ddts streaming service at the time. i ended up staying up all night to watch him win the ko-d openweight championship, which then i realized that i dont do that for many wrestlers, and that hes truly very special. i was surprised when i realized i havent rated chris yet, but for me and my love of wrestling he has to be a 10."

[10.0] "One of the best active wrestlers in the world today, probably top 5 among foreign wrestlers in Japan, aside from being really good at wrestling, his mission seems to make every competitor in the ring with him better than they are (male or female) and he seems to always succeed at that, DDT and GatohMove are really lucky to have him and he made the right move going to Japan considering the state of british wrestling right now."
rgpick wrote on 17.09.2023:
[9.0] "One of the hidden gems in wrestling. He can do everything from in-ring bangers, hilarious comedy matches, fun intergender matches, you name it. He seems to have found a true home in DDT that let's him do exactly what he wants there, Chocopro, his own Baka Gaijin and Friends shows, as well as smaller promotions around Japan. He should be on more people's radar."

He won Universal and Extreme championship, made a lot of fan and good (sometimes even great) matches and proved us and himself that he is not just a tag team player he is a real superstar who can entertain you and give you a real show, GOD give him KO-D championship one day. UPDATE: now Chris is the KO-D champion and his work is fantastic, I really happy for the high wich he raised himself and now he is a reall star, dreams come true my friens."

[9.0] "He got out of the UK while he could and has become an incredibly fun part of the japanese wrestling scene. Knew that shit wasn't going anywhere good. Drew Parker did the same thing but Brookes has definitely had more success. He's always been a very funny guy so I knew that would translate well but he's become a better worker as well. Dude is a really good hand who knows when to turn it on and be amazing. Happy for the guy"

[9.0] "Chris Brookes can wrestle in comedy matches, hardcore matches, and high-profile main events across a variety of promotions without ever feeling out of place. He has had a number of great bouts over the past few years, as he has solidified his status as the best foreigner outside of New Japan. He may act like a nasty heel in Gatoh Move, but he feels like a family member whenever he shows up and is beloved by the fans. Given his proclivity for light-hearted matches, you may think he wouldn't fit in big DDT matches, but when the bell rings he can go with the best. Most importantly, Chris Brookes doesn't follow the standard road of a great wrestler - he carves his own path."
NikoKillbain wrote on 01.01.2022:
[8.0] "One of the best in-ring performers in DDT. Everyone will point to his KO-D Openweight Championship match vs Konosuke, but genuinely his best match in 2021 was vs Saki Akai. He also had a fun string of deathmatches mostly against Shunma, the one with Drew Parker let down a little. Some other good singles matches vs Endo and Sakaguchi. Ended the year with a great six-person with Suzuki and Maki Itoh. Has an incredibly agile and watchable in-ring style."

[9.0] "The best gaijin today imo. Chris Brookes is not the wrestler you'll immediately think of when you'll hear "best in the world", yet he checks almost every cases to be called like that. He is a great face in DDT, his heel run with Schadenfreude was amazing, his current feud against Mei Suruga in ChocoPro makes me laugh hard in many occasions, and more generally his works both in the UK and Japan are some of the best runs a wrestler can think of. When BritWres was dying, he was the one keeping it alive imo. Clearly a wrestler who is way too overlooked and who deserves way more praises."
blastostg wrote on 28.07.2021:
[8.0] "Since arriving in DDT full time, Brookes has improved tenfold. He was solid before but he has improved all around in every way since joining the promotion. His ability to speak English has also helped grow the promotion more internationally. He will one day murder Shunma Katsumata."

[7.0] "Very interesting wrestler, but since I don't devotedly follow the UK indie scene I was not particularly familiar with him before he started to work abroad in 2018. His decision to stay in Japan during the epidemic will probably cause his career to skyrocket as he's remaining active while the UK indie scene is effectively dead and buried. I hope to be able to come back and increase my rating in the future."

[8.0] "Chris Brookes is a wrestler with a lot of potential, his best matches are usually tag team matches, but his singles matches are not bad, and they are generally very pleasant, and now that he started his tour on DDT, he has the potential to evolve even more, mainly as a singles wrestler."

[8.0] "I like this guy! He's got a lot of potential on top of the noticeable talent he already has, shown that he can both work serious and comedy style matches and has the versatility to develop even more. I've seen him live a few times live and every time he's had command of the crowd, even when put in the ring against vastly more popular worldly known wrestlers and from what I've seen has gotten himself over outside the UK as well. I'm really interested to see where he goes from here."

[10.0] "Chris Brookes is a great heel with an awesome character and moveset, as well as several signature spots that always get a big reaction, though his matches have great psychology and are filled with technicality so he doesn't rely on these spots. His moveset is awesome, he makes the octopus stretch or the 'calamari catch' his own. Brooke's tag team with Mondai Lykos, CCK, is one of the best tag teams in the UK, with a great dynamic and look, and they always get heel heat. Brookes should also be commended for his character work; you won't always see him with a leather jacket. This guy is amazing, I'm excited to see where he goes."
