Anything positive you read about this match, including my commentary, should force you to go see it as it's a match that I think is brilliant in its construction and action, two guys with diametrically opposed styles yet click so well together in the squared circle. But despite their opposite styles it was for me a pairing that would work for sure and they proved me right, the match is quite short but so complete in terms of substance and above all so fucking good so that time is anecdotal. A brilliant sprint and a great showcase for Cobb who received 'Please comeback' chants right after. |

Die zwei ballerten sich hier einen verrückten Move nach dem anderen zu und zeigten ein einziges Spektakel. Die Kickouts waren absolut genial und beide wirkten in diesem Match wie Stars. | 35 | 15.07.2017 | marexcel | 9.0 | Die Chosen Bro’s im Viertelfinale und Riddle versucht direkt das Flying Knee zum Unmut von Cobb. Das Abklatschen gibt es dann doch noch. Immer eindrucksvoll, wenn Leute wie Jeff und Matt sich abtasten. Gutes Mat-Wrestling, schöne Transitions und ein sehr guter Flow einfach. Danach wird erneut abgeklatscht, aber auf die Brust des Gegners. Phase 3 stellen hier die Impact-Moves dar. Auch hier ein netter Austausch von Zärtlichkeiten mit schönen Kontern und sauberer Technik. Einzig die Riddle No-Selling-Phase fand ich da etwas mau, auch wenn der Nearfall zu einem guten Zeitpunkt kommt. Mit weiteren sehenswerten Kontern geht es in die Schlussphase. Das Klying Knee in den Atheltik Plex ist nice und die Phase danach auch. Der offene Schlagabtausch danach ist grandios und der Kickout bei 1 von Cobb sitzt super und bringt eine schöne Tiefe in die Sequenz. Riddle der Verzweiflung nah und Cobb beweist Nehmerqualitäten, ist einfach nicht kleinzukriegen und kommt aber noch mit einer sackstarken Sequenz zurück eher sich doch dem Knie von Riddle geschlagen geben muss. Herrliches Duell. (****1/2) |

These guys are two of the hottest wrestlers in the world so it is no surprise to see the positive reaction they both got from the crowd. Really liked the beginning where Riddle went for the running knee that took out Trent in 6 seconds, but Cobb avoided it. This was quite a short match which Riddle worked on top mostly, but then Cobb started throwing him around and that's when things got funny. It kind of became a typical indie match with no selling and move spam, but I much like those matches myself so I did not mind. Great match between two very big boys, ****1/2. |

This match had everything: mat-based feeling out process, great strikes, awesome escalation, and an exceptional finishing stretch that felt like two legit athletes having a pro wrestling-style epic; there's no better two workers out there for that kind of match than Riddle & Cobb. Cobb is the kind of guy who can nosell something and still make it look like it hurt and not make his opponent look bad. The best match these two have had, and the best of the SSS16 2017 weekender. ****1/2 |

Viele unglaubliche Stiffe Sequenzen, NoSell Szenen und dazu auch noch echt geniale Near-Falls (Cobb packt Moves wie Canadian Destroyer aus). Wunderbare Finishing Stretch und eines der Besten Pure Wrestling Matches von PROGRESS (****1/4+). |
