[5.0] "Yano is always really hit or miss for me but, this was really entertaining and they both worked off each other's goofiness. Nothing too notable other than the hats being used and Shane Haste having a bucket over his head for half the match. Yano pulling out the upset roll-up to end a fun little spectacle. **1/2"
[4.0] "This was actually pretty entertaining by Yano's standards but it went a little too far into "These guys obviously don't give a shit about winning so what's the point? " territory. Suspension of disbelief can only go so far. I know that sounds silly to say when we all know what we're getting with Yano but there's a line where things can get too silly and this was pretty silly even for a Yano match. I find the best comedy wrestlers create more believable excuses/reasons for the silly stuff to happen, like Bushi always trying to punish Taguchi's balls (Taguchi is the comedy guy but Bushi gives him the excuse to be funny by seriously trying to punish him), or the old partner 1 hits a suplex, partner 2 hits a suplex, incompetent partner 3 has his suplex reversed spot that Gedo used to love using when he was in Chaos. Still probably the best Yano match of the tournament so far just a little too much as a match."
[7.0] "It was dumb and pretty fun, which is most of what you can ask out of a Yano match. The bucket head was an original so points for that. One of the better Yano matches in recent memory and sadly the most i've enjoyed Haste this tournament. Low-stakes match but entertaining for what it was."
[4.0] "I usually rate Yano matches based on the originality of his antics, and while the bucket idea was original I just didn't find it all that amusing unfortunately. I don't think the crowd were that amused either as the crowd weren't exactly in bits. This was just fine and nothing more. Doesn't help that I couldn't care less whether Haste won or lost. **"
[4.0] "Good for a current day Yano match. Starts off amusing with a trade of "hats" and then shenanigans ensue with multiple people ending up under the ring, which has been a secondary character in Yano's matches recently. Short, inoffensive, and a solid comedy break, if overall unremarkable."
[7.0] "Best match if Yano that I saw, even better than against ZSJ in 2020. It was so funny, so entertaining, it's all I demand when I watch a comedy wrestling match. Shane Haste was really cool in this match, he has a huge comedy wrestling potential. Very funny."
[3.0] "Not bad for a Yano match but not great. I think the comedy spots weren't bad especially with the bucket and Kosei directing Haste back into the ring, but the Bucket bit would have been used better I feel if the Haste fighting spirit with it on lead to him winning with the bucket on his head. Felt like the match was heading in a direction it didn't go and then it just ended which made me dislike it."
[5.0] "This ended up being on the higher side of Yano comedy in this year's tournament, I suppose. There were some relatively unique comedy spots, none of which went longer than they needed to, and Haste was a good accomplice, obviously more than willing to play along."
[7.0] "My preferred Yano's match of the tournament. Just a good comedy match, I loved how Toru scotched Haste a bucket to the head of Haste but no being able to get win just scoring it some minutes after and getting his second win on this Climax edition. ***1/2"
[5.0] "Being the usual comedy match that Yano has, this one is the best of the tournament given that Haste a kind of goofy gimmick too. The use of the bucket was great as it was innovative and different to the typical Yano match. The result of course doesn't affect in the G1 as both are eliminated. (**3/4)"
[4.0] "One of the best Yano matches of the tournament, and probably the most creative. It probably would have been very good overall had they gone another three or four minutes instead of doing an abrupt finish. Shane Haste has stood out in his own way during the G1. **"
[6.0] "Shane Haste's gimmick can sometimes come across as try-hard and lame but it works in the context of a match against Toru Yano. This match was full of goofy and dumb spots, which is fine for a Toru Yano type of match. I'd say it's Yano's best match of the tournament, this or the Naito one, it was short and the crowd was reacting to it. Yano wins this one, it doesn't really have much impact at this point of the tournament. His win against Jeff Cobb had a bigger impact but I guess it's to give him at least 4pts and show he can still get a few wins."
