[8.0] "Excellent match, this was all about MS-1 and El Satanico, the former partners that now hate each other, and they wanted to prove who's the better man very badly here, which is an awesome setting. It's curious to watch Satanico being the 'técnico' here in this match, we're very used to watch him perform the villain, a character that he knows how to do it like no one else, but seeing such a cool babyface performance by him was impressive, shows how versatile he is. The first two falls are basically pure dominations, MS-1 and Tierra, the rudos, started the match completely ambushing the team of Atlantis and Satanico, who managed to recover and win the second fall. The third fall is very thrilling for sure, it's a very big wager match, the stakes are very high, so every near finish here was important, and there were a lot of cool moments and spots - {***3/4}"
[9.0] "[4.25*] What an emotional, dramatic Apuestas match. Wow. This wasn't just a wrestling match, it was a goddamn movie! Incredibly theatrical since the first minute, I was really impressed lol. Tierra & MS-1 dominated the first fall completely and won with a Double Submission on Satanico and a MS-1 Splash on Atlantis. Satanico and Atlantis won the second fall after they submitted and pinned their opponents at the same time, a pretty cool spot. In the third fall, MS-1 and Tierra outsmarted their opponents a couple of times, making the "tecnico" team attack each other unintentionally. However, the tecnicos turned it around by outsmarting the rudos afterwards when Atlantis got caught in a Double Submission but Satanico came in and they both pinned the rudos at the same time, a fucking crazy and creative spot that can't even be described properly lol. Satanico eventually rolled-up MS-1, eliminating him, and then Atlantis pinned Tierra for the win. This was a very unique match structurally-wise, every fall told a different story and they were all mini-matches of their own. I think all of them bled but Satanico specifically had a crimson mask, which fucking rocked. I loved how they properly highlighted Tag Team lucha here, the double moves were great and all 4 of them had insane chemistry. The main goal of these lucha de apuestas is making the people feel and they surely succeed. This felt like the most important thing ever while it was going on, and we were able to see a very different side of Satanico here, working more as a tecnico than a rudo."
[8.0] "For a match with big stakes, the work surprisingly 'normal', with long first two falls and slower pace even in the third with few bursts of energy when crowd expected anything consequential to happen. I enjoyed it for what it was because it was a different approach, but I don't think it was actually better than bloody wild brawls or near-fall fiestas in front of a molten hot crowd - overall it was a classic example of 'very good, but not quite great'. ***3/4"
[10.0] "Pretty impressive that Atlantis just wrestled on Dynamite the other week at the spry age of 62, and then I check back 36 years and he's wrestling this main event banger in the heart of lucha libre... and he was already a 6 year vet at this point! They build luchadors different, that's for sure. Here Atlantis is teaming with one of my all time favorite luchadors, El Satanico, who despite his name is playing the technico side this time, battling against the legendary MS-1 and the confusingly named Tierra Viento Y Fuego (definitely thought he was two different guys when I first looked at this match). The main event of the anniversary show, it's clear this match was a big deal when you watch the crowd reaction, and we're lucky to be able to go back and revisit it in reasonably good detail. The main focus of this match is the bitter feud between Satanico and MS-1, and Satanico puts on a truly stellar performance as he gets badly bloodied up partway through the match, and while everyone did a great job he excels the most first with some tremendous selling and then some great gritty comeback fighting. They buck the usual match flow as the first two falls are considerably more meaty than you often see in lucha, and the third fall goes down to the wire with some convincing nearfalls without going overboard. In the end the heroes are victorious, MS-1 loses his hair and Tierra is forced to unmask. Classic lucha, awesome stuff."
[8.0] "A great, dramatic, well-paced Tag Team Apuestas match. The selling performance by Satanico and the heel tag team chemistry between T. V. y F. and MS-1 were highlights for sure. Decent storytelling, every fall making sense, with the first two of them lasting longer than usual in 90s lucha libre and a very good third one."
[9.0] "The culmination of the Satanico / MS-1 feud. It's a great selling performance by Satanico both on defence and on offense. They don't go overboard on nearfalls in the last fall like they always do in lucha. It's a great match."
