[7.0] "A show where the only match on the card that wasn't a 7/10 for me was the women's match. Not an amazing episode, but certainly an excellent one all around. [MOTN: Ricochet vs. Will Ospreay]"

[8.0] "Once again, a great Collision, but I don't want to repeat myself and everyone else in the comment section, so let me address what I'm sure no one has addreessed yet - Adam Cole's promo. In what Universe is it okay to make fun of someone for suffering from a pretty natural and widespread phenomena such as alopecia? Pleace, notice that he didn't ridicule him for getting the hair transplant and pretending it's all natural, no. He clearly made the point that MJF should be ashamed of himself because he started to lose hair in his 20s. I mean, what the fuck is this? Imagine John Cena mocking Roman Reigns for getting diagnosed with leukemia in his 20s. Unacceptable, right? So why is it okay to make fun of someone losing hair? I mean, it would be a great way for a heel to generate heat, but it's not how a babyface should conduct himself. For me, the moment Adam Cole delivered that line he turned heel. Additionally, instead of mocking someone for something beyond their control, how about looking in the mirror, and mocking yourself for something you HAVE control over - like your 5-year-old girl physique."

[7.0] "Very mediocre episode of Collision wrestling wise. I felt I needed to justify a rating of 7 after rating all but 1 of the matches and the MJF / Cole promo lower but for me the iconic venue and the decent NYC crowd justified a 7."

[9.0] "All matches delivered one way or another but followed pretty much the same formula that can get mundane if overused. MJF/Cole was a good segment but the story itself is boring and should end at Worlds End for good imo. Toni's stuff looks good to me now , May/Rosa brawl out was good too. Ricochet greeted with toilet paper was hilarious. They managed to give many of their stars some TV time even if it was for a few 30 to 40 seconds and thats good and they got their message across which is a plus. The Jericho segment I wasnt a fan of but everything else imo hit home. Fabulous work here, I loved the episode"

[8.0] "Osrpeay/Ricochet was great with a particularly engaged crowd. I have no idea how some people can seriously think that these reactions are bad for Ricochet, his heel turn seems to be getting over really well. The Cole/MJF segment was good for once and their best attempt at making sense of the story, though I didn't like how blatantly they tried to replicate MJF's "slip up" in the pre-"All In" promo with Ospreay. Statlander/Ford was decent; I'm not sure if giving Statlander a second shot at the title so soon is a wise decision if she isn't winning. Costco Guys/Bowens/LT segment was whatever, at least it had some funny moments in it. Both blue league matches were very good, I liked Briscoe/Mortos better as a match and Garcia/Benjamin post-match furthered a couple of stories post match. Finally, the main event was great; it was a more story driven match but it had good moments. Interested to see if/how they will rope Ospreay into the Death Riders story. Overall, really good show and a great crowd but last week's episode was a bit better imo."

[8.0] "A pretty good episode of Collision. Probably a top-ten episode from top to bottom, with a generally good level of match quality, a great venue, and a very vocal crowd. Hammerstein Ballroom stands apart as a special venue but if AEW can get this kind of reaction playing to smaller audiences in venues with good acoustics, they'll be able to recapture some of that indy spirit. The Cole and MJF stuff went a little long but was mostly fine. They're still trying to brute-force this "I betrayed you because I knew you were going to betray me" angle and I can't help but wonder if things would have turned out better had Cole just made a sincere apology at the start of this entire thing only for MJF to refuse it in some heelish way. Swerve vs The Hurt Syndicate story has been one of the better stories in AEW recently and I hope it's not negatively affected by adding more people to it. It could end up feeling like another "Everyone vs dominant heel faction" angle if they're not careful."

Kris Stat picks up a win over the lovely and talented Penelope Ford. Garcia with an upset win over Shelton Benjamin, post-match extra curriculars follow involving the Hurt Syndicate and Swerve. Briscoe goes over on the winless Beast Mortos. Claudio thank God beats Darby in the main event."

[9.0] "A great episode of Collision from Hammerstein Ballroom (which AEW doing shows from there is definitely overdue) the crowd was on fire throughout and definitely had a different feel with AEW being in a smaller venue, all the matches were good and enjoyable to watch, definitely recommend this episode of Collision, MJF and Adam Cole had an interesting segment ahead of their match at World's End, Thunder Rosa and Mariah May continued their build onto World's End. Ricochet vs Will Ospreay: They know each other well enough know to be able to put on an excellent well worked match that is a great C2 tournament match, while the ref bump was not needed, Ricochet getting the win was a surprise as thought Ospreay was going to win [****1/4]. Kris Statlander vs Penelope Ford: Ford actually put on a solid showing here against the more powerful Statlander, solid exchanges which surprised me as did not come into this with many expectations [***]. Daniel Garcia vs Shelton Benjamin: This was not a heavy storyline featured match, it was two wrestlers that had a back and forth match that was two guys doing what they do and within the C2 tournament which was enjoyable to watch, Garcia getting the win surprised me [***1/2]. Mark Briscoe vs The Beast Mortos: Their different styles meshed well together, they had a interesting match, Briscoe winning was good to see, Mortos was made to look solid here even in defeat [***1/4]. Claudio Castagnoli vs Darby Allin: Before the bell even rang when Allin climbed onto the top of the steel entrance structure and jumped off onto Castagnoli that was shocking to see, but when the bell rang the match was basically Allin being the underdog and Castagnoli being the dastardly heel which they told that in a perfect way, the ending did not surprise me when Castagnoli brought into play the brass knuckles when the referee had his back turned [***3/4]"

"A sizzling hot crowd at a sold out Hammerstein for an historic episode of Collision. I loved every bit of it, a very much needed shot in the arm for the show. Hope 2025 will be a more consistent year for AEW's saturday nights. This episode had a purpose, a true vibe: it was oozing with energy and it made me feel like every match, every angle, every promo mattered (including MJF/Cole, which was delicious - haters gonna hate). The fact that the show was bookended by two amazing C2 bouts definitely helped, but I have to give every performer their flowers. The opener was simply one of the finest matches we saw on AEW tv, and one of the best Ospreay match in his incredible run of 2024. The other two matches were fun; I felt that Benjamin vs Garcia was somehow a "glorified" squash, but in a good way. It told a story, with Danny being the ultimate underdog (while being the TNT champion), against a very credible and fit Shelton, the monster heel. Guy looks like a killer. Briscoe and Mortos gave a hell of a performance, with excellent spots and a fired up crowd. Post match segment was dope: Swerve had some Sting vibes jumping over everybody. Darby is a madman, full stop. Claudio just tried to kill him, but had to cheat to win. Now I wanna see part III (possibly a coffin match/falls count anywhere? )."

[6.0] "A good, wrestling-focused show, with a good, tight, but not red-hot crowd. Ospreay/Ricochet was a brilliant opener. I skipped Cole and MJF, as I have done for weeks, but also Stat's match as Penelope just looked a bit off to start with. The Benjamin/Garcia match was a dud in my eyes, and the main event ended in a bad way. Briscoe had a great outing, but the performer of the night was Ricochet, who responded well to the negativity and had maybe his best singles match in AEW."

[5.0] "Disappointing show for their second night in the Hammerstein. The crowd seemed ready to enjoy the show and the booking/extended promos beat them down. Most of the wrestling was solid even if I found the choice to have both the opener and the main event to end nefarious means to be poor (at least the opener was to push Ricochet going heel as now both Ospreay/Ricochet matches in AEW have had flat endings.) Claudio just beat Darby clean outside of the tournament but couldn't get a win here as AEW's referees continue to look incompetent in a tournament based around no interference where many of the match endings involve cheating. The in-ring promos on this show felt never ending especially the one between MJF and Cole as their feud continues for some reason which many viewers seem to not care about at all. Disappointing to see Mortos gain nothing in the tournament. AEW is not providing a lot to be invested in at the moment."

Matches were really great for tv matches, awesome segment with Cole/MJF, really hyped that match a lot for Worlds End (it was needed). Smaller venues and bigger attention given to Collision these past weeks, ending up on that amazing atmosphere in NY, brilliant."

[9.0] "Another great episode of Collision. AEW running the Hammerstein Ballroom for their shows was long overdue and it didn't disappoint: the atmosphere, look and vibe were great and the crowd was on fire. Ricochet vs. Ospreay was the best match of the night, great match. Ricochet turning heel is the right move. The promo between MJF and Adam Cole was good. The best thing that has come out of their rivalry thus far. Penelope vs. Stat was enjoyable. Can't remember I heard "AEW" chant for a match that didn't involve Kris Statlander. Mercedes Mone accepted her challenge to a rematch a Worlds End in the post-match. The Chris Jericho/Costco Guys segment nearly killed my love for this sport but Garcia vs. Shelton afterwards saved me. Great match between those two. Swerve showing up in the post-match was fun. Mortos vs. Briscoe was really entertaining. Briscoe's amazing. The brawl between Thunder Rosa and Mariah was a good to increase their hatred ahead of their upcoming match. Darby vs. Claudio was a really good main event. I'll never get tired or bored of seeing Darby getting destroyed. Overall: the amazing crowd and venue created a nice vibe and the show delivered with good angles and great matches."

[8.0] "Collision seemed all the better for being in a lively small venue like the Hammerstein Ballroom instead of largely empty arenas like they had been. Ricochet and Will Ospreay was the highlight as expected, a wise choice to open with them (and the Costco Guys who a lot of Americans know about) for anyone who kept the TV on TNT following the College Football Playoffs. Solid stuff elsewhere, not a single bad match on the show."

[8.0] "Every match was at least good to great. That's what I want from Collision. Most everything else wasn't good. Jericho segment for some reason, and the MJF and Cole segment. I can appreciate that they're clearly trying to make it work with Adam as the face, but it really just doesn't make any sense, to me. I'm still going to give this show an 8. The wrestling was great and the vibes at Hammerstein were great."

[9.0] "I enjoyed the hell out of this edition of Collision. The Hammerstein never dissapoints and all of the good matches tonight really proved that. I must admit, I haven't been a fan of this MJF and Adam Cole storyline, but they were captivating tonight in my opinion. I was entertained by that segment. Ospreay and Ricochet was match of the night but I think Danny Garcia and Shelton Benjamin were not far behind it. Briscoe and Mortos was entertaining and Darby and Claudio was good too."

[10.0] "This was not a perfect show but I had the best time watching it, hot crowds make everything better it's crazy. The in-ring work was the best an AEW TV episode had to offer in a long while'. ZERO misses and all good to great matches. The in-ring segment varied, I skimmed through the Jericho segment but that cannot have been good and is a misuse of everyone involved. The MJF/Cole segment was inoffensive and they tried their best, MJF being a shell of himself is sad and he needs to find something to do soon. Lots of cool little vignettes that I like, the main event was great as always and so was Garcia vs Shelton and the subsequent results of all C2 matches mean the winner of each block Is a complete toss-up but that's good. The opener wa incredible and had amazing atmosphere but my favorite part was Garcia/Shelton's post match, Swerve is fucking awesome and this is how a heel stable running rough shot is booked. Take notes, Mox."
