[3.0] "Very forgettable episode of Nitro other than the Sting stuff which I continue to enjoy. Luger/Norton was a solid big man match, the rest of this episode is pretty mediocre. Including a very weird Roddy Piper video as music for some reason? Confused by that."

[5.0] "An ok episode, but why was this idiot desperate to play a Roddy Piper video to "prove Piper has wanted Hogan since 1991"? We already knew that and this video did nothing to elevate Piper. In fact, I'd be wary of going out in public after that. But the wrestling was fine and the Sting storyline continued to impress."

[3.0] "Typical Nitro with mostly very short and/or dull matches and some pretty lame angles/segments. Jarrett vs Benoit was fine but forgettable. Benoit was naturally impressive, but Jarrett offered nothing (his Flair-tribute still sucks, too) Sting's interference for the DQ finish was more interesting, tbh. **1/4. Zero vs Malia was a pointless squash. Zero had minimal intensity and Malia did literally nothing. TS;NR (too short; no rating). DDP was quite charismatic in his interview with Mean Gene, and him facing off with Hall and Nash was mildly interesting. Mysterio vs Ciclope was decent as expected. Mysterio's usual stunts were great, and Ciclope was a nice powerhouse to counter Mysterio, play off him, and enhance his spots. ***. The nWo promoting an award-show appearance was pretty lame. Hall felt like a corporate stooge, and Nash resembled an annoying, immature little kid. Luger vs Norton was rather poor but at least had some effort. They were uncoordinated and clunky but still had some mildly fun powerhouse exchanges. **. Luger cut a surprisingly pretty okay promo post-match, pleading with Sting to help him fight off the nWo, which definitely draws even more interesting speculation to Sting's new direction. Harlem Heat vs The French Canadians was a very short, uninspired, and mindless brawl that further suffered from being obscured due to boring picture-in-picture and fullscreen cutaways to the Nasty Boys being unable to enter the arena and then meeting Beefcake (lmao). The focus on Sherri's feud with Parker was equally uninteresting. TS;NR. Jericho vs Konnan was pretty wasteful. Firstly, it was illogical storytelling for ref Patrick to officiate despite the conflict of interest after Jericho called him out on TV the previous week. The match itself had some fine exchanges and okay control work from Konnan. They were sloppier towards the end, and then the cheap DQ finish sucked. I can't believe this storyline with Patrick is still going and still hasn't developed. *3/4. Perez vs Juventud was very short but mildly fun for its time. It had a bunch of non-stop junior-style exchanges and spots, all of which were decent. The crowd sadly didn't care because neither guy was remotely over, but the work was solid and Perez hit a few nice spots. TS;NR. American Males vs The Faces of Fear was yet another very short match, and it was fine for its time. The Faces had decent bully bruiser work, while the Males were generic but at least energetic babyfaces. Mildly interesting how Bagwell accidentally (? ) cost his team the match. TS;NR. Piper's special music video message was immensely cheesy but somehow it wasn't even obviously satirical, just really dorky in a way that diminished Piper's badass charm he showed at Halloween Havoc. Hogan's show-ending promo hyping himself up was short but entertainingly energetic and arrogant, though it basically just further piled on Piper after he'd already piled on himself with that lame music video. Odd."

[7.0] "Had fun but what's with the piper music tape? It was so random. As I've said before the Sting and nWo storylines are very interesting. Cicolpe made a Nitro debut and so did one Miguel Perez Jr. Who is leaving right after this match for WWF. Konnan putting on a real stinker was a suprise."

[7.0] "A good episode of Nitro, though not as good as some previous weeks. The Piper music video was random but fun, and the big stories of Hogan/Sting/Luger and others continue to develop. Best match was Mysterio vs. Ciclope, but I also liked Benoit vs. Jarrett, Norton vs. Luger, and Faces of Fear vs. American Males."

[6.0] "The episode works thanks to Sting and the nWo. Sting has a new character and never speaks, his actions are unpredictable. nWo is the main force of the show, Hollywood Hogan has again the final angle of the episode. There are some good Lucha Libre matches, yet short, and it's not too heavy to follow."
