[5.0] "One of weakest Dynamite of the year: Cassidy vs. Yuta was a very good match and the post-match was cool but this rivalry is not heated enough to end in a Stadium Stampede match. I'm happy to see the stipulation back but this wasn't the right rivalry to make it return. Allin & Wayne vs. Gates of Agony was short and dissapointing but overall satisfactory. Jarrett vs. Hardy was one of the worst thing Aew has ever produced. Baker vs. Bunny was bad. Young Bucks vs. Gunns wasn't bad but it pretty boring, and lifeless main event, well wrestled but without any heat and the crowd was pretty dead for it. Post-match brawl was fun, though. MJF/Adam Cole segments are always the highlight of the show: these two together never dissapoint. Jericho/Callis' promo was good and Ospreay's arrival was a great moment but I'm not hyped for Jericho vs. Ospreay, they could've choose a much better opponent for Will. Omega sat back with Jim Ross and had a weird promo and got attacked for no reason by Bullet Club Gold. It's gonna be Omega, Page and Kota Ibushi vs. BCG & Takeshita, a match that I'm looking foward because of the great talents involved but the build-up could've been better. Overall: it wasn't completely awful but this was not a good episode, Aew had underdelivered lately and the build-up to All In hasn't been very good. The matches are all gonna be incredible because this roster is full of talent but I would love to see more and better storylines."
[3.0] "I'm really serious about this, if it wasn't for the February 15th episode of Dynamite, this would've been the worst episode of Dynamite this year, the only good things here were the Opener (but was a weaker compare to the match they had earlier this year) and the MJF/Cole segment, the rest was bad, the Jericho/Callis segment made no sense AT ALL, the women's match was eh, but that Texas Chain Saw Massacre Death Match was one of the worst matches of the year"
[5.0] "The show had a few good moments but also some really bad moments. Jericho and Callis was fun as have been the Cole & MJF segments. Wheeler v Cassidy was the MOTN, the main event was good, and the women's and tag matches were aright. The Jarrett v Hardy match was one of the worst matches AEW has ever put on period. Overall, the show was good but expected more and the most promoted match was by far the worst."
[2.0] "If it weren't for Joker Sting, this would be a 0. This was quite possibly one of the worst Dynamites of all time. Having OC in the opener vs Yuta made for also one of the few highlights of the night.. Darby and Nick Wayne got beat up but somehow won which is kind of the formula to every Darby match.. Double J and Jeff Hardy was disgusting, maybe the worst match in AEW history, and irreversibly set back the legacy of these two legends, Bunny vs Britt didn't insult our intelligence as much in the way of having a Leatherface appearance but that also was godawful. Bucks vs Gunns could of been a big match with good build up, brothers versus brothers could make for a cool PPV match with a proper story behind it and fire between these two teams, but they just kind of come off and have a normal match."
[4.0] "Honestly this show was not good. There were a few good things here but mostly bad things. The Jericho/Callis segment was great, and I am hoping Jericho vs Ospreay will be a great match as it should be, but they should have started this rivalry after Forbidden Door and not 11 days before All In. The MJF/Cole segment and promo was the best thing of the night as it was no surprise from two great athletes and once again teasing a Cole turn. The International title match was great between two great competitors and as always OC fricking rules and Yuta is a hell of a competitor. The tag team match was off as the Gates of Agony was on the offensive of the majority of the match until the end. I am hoping the coffin match delivers as well as t was just announced today. Honestly I just want to forget the next two matches because they were AWFUL. What on Earth was that Texas Chainsaw Massacre match as it was the worst thing on AEW to memory. The Bunny and Britt Baker was the only women's match/segment tonight so that tells you a lot about the women's division in AEW. And the main event was just flat as there was no excitement. So overall this show sucked and I am praying they go back to putting good shows and having proper rivalries again."
[4.0] "One of the weakest shows AEW has put out in-ring wise, possibly ever. Cassidy vs Yuta was decent to be fair, Darby & Nick Wayne getting over Swerve's goons was whatever, the stuff that happened post-match definitely made it more memorable though, and Bucks vs Gunns, while a perfectly fine main event, felt boring and lifeless compared to all the other Dynamite main events we've gotten over the past year. And the less said about both the Texas Chainsaw Deathmatch and Baker vs Bunny the better. The one major positive I can give this show though is the promo/angle work. MJF and Adam Cole did a fantastic job hyping up their showdown at All In, the Joker Sting character is back and more insane than ever, and the Jericho/Don Callis angle was great. Overall, the promo department saves this episode from a lower score, but I feel a 4 is fair enough."
[7.0] "All the promo segments were great tonight. The Jericho stuff with Callis was pretty hilarious even if Jericho went from being a heel still to a babyface without any actual character growth, it's just that Callis is somehow scummier than he is lol I thought the Omega sit down was solid, if a bit goofy how it played out, and the cuts to J.R. are meme material. I LOVED the Hangman promo, his dry sense of humor. Sting had a great segment, and of course all the MJF/Cole stuff was gold. None of the matches were upper tier, but aside from the Deathmatch hogwash, none were bad either. The main event was fun and the Gunns looked very strong, and had the unexpected ending of the Bucks out cheating the Gunns to win."
[8.0] "Gee, leave it for folks to overreact over a fun episode of Dynamite this past week. I genuinely don't care or value what any critics say because this was actually a pretty good episode of Dynamite here. Any show that opens with a banger match with Orange Cassidy vs Wheeler Yuta (plus the return of EDDIE KINGSTON), an AWESOME segment with Chris Jericho/Don Callis/Konosuke Takeshita (which ENDED with the return of WILL OSPREAY0, a GREAT segment with MJF/Adam Cole, a harmless fun Texas Chainsaw Massacre match with Jeff Hardy vs Jeff Jarrett, a good women's match with Britt Baker vs Bunny (which is PREDICTABLY underrated by the way), and a good tag main event with Gunns vs Young Bucks (with FTR saving the latter tag team) does NOT make this a "terrible, " "bad", or "mediocre" episode of Dynamite. We're allowed to have the occasional goofy/nonsensical fun in wrestling (whether it's in WWE, AEW, NJPW, or ROH), folks. It's not that serious."
[8.0] "One of the worst Dynamite in recent memory but I still quite enjoyed it. The Great : Joker Sting promo was awesome The Good : Orange Cassidy having a good match as usual. The main event was nothing special but the crowd was into it and it was quite enjoyable. The Bad : The aweful Texas massacre match, what the hell was that shit, litteraly the worst thing I saw on AEW TV."
[6.0] "I was having a pretty good time until the "deathmatch" where the only blood present was fake and was all around mid and kinda left a bad taste for the rest of the show. The women's division is starting to feel like Diva's-era Fed, so they better fix that up soon too. At least Orange x Yuta and the Young Gunns (heehoo) Main Event was good. Nick Wayne looks to be a great investment for the future too."
[5.0] "A very up and down show, which to be honest is symptomatic of AEW right now, im not sure what's going on creatively but this feels very much like to many cooks in the kitchen right now. Last time this was the case we had the horrible Dark order segment in 2019 and TK put his foot down and took over total control of the book. Sadly im not sure we are in that era any more and TK is happy with the current direction it seems. 5/10, Opening match was good, Don Callis is awesome (why the hell is this guy not on every show every week! he gets molten heat seriously! ) then the show went down hill fast. Now im writing it up 5/10 might be generous but ah well."
[7.0] "This was a lot of fun until it got to the "Texas Chain Saw Masscare Death Match", which was just awful. Everything after that point was a bit of a snoozefest. They have got me hyped to see MJF/Cole main event All In though, I'll say that. And of course FTR/Bucks will be a banger (if it happens)."
[0.0] "One of the worst dynamites I've ever seen in my fucking life. No good matches and all the build-ups/angles were the fucking same. Heels attacking the faces after the matches/segments every fucking time. It's so clear that the build for all in is rushed that it's hilarious. That stretch with the texas death whatever the fuck you call it match and the britt baker match made me want to snap my laptop in half due to how bad it was. I cannot express to you just how fucking bad the texas match was. It might legitimately be the worst match in AEW history and britt baker is shit as usual, god fuck britt baker."
[6.0] "This was a decent episode of Dynamite. It was nowhere near the best, but it wasn't the worst either. The matches were not the strength of this episode, but the segments made up for it. We opened with Orange Cassidy defending his title, this time against Wheeler Yuta. It was a good match but at this point they're getting a little stale. I think it's time for Cassidy to drop the belt. Then we get Darby Allin and Nick Wayne taking on Gates of Agony. It was about as good as a Gates of Agony match can be, meaning that it was fine. After that we got the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch between Jeffs, Hardy and Jarrett. It was not good, but it earned a lot of money for charity, so I can't be too mad. We get the Bunny vs Britt Baker to qualify for All In. This was a lot better than I expected for Bunny's first match back after a six-month lay-off. The main Event saw the Gunns and the Bucks fighting. it was fine for what it was, but I don't think anyone expected the Gunns to actually win this."
[5.0] "The first hour was very good even if the matches were too short but then the show completely fell off. The "death match" was so bad that it became comical, the womens match was not good, and the main event was very rushed ------- Collision feels like a 1 hour show stretched over 2 hours and this Dynamite felt like a 3 hours show done in only 2 hours... WE NEED SOME BALANCE"
[3.0] "This show is slowly moving away from the pro-wrestling I like. I'm non-plussed by the All In build. I'm not invested in all the multi man matches and lazy beat downs. What are the stakes in the BBC vs Best friends match? It's an iteration of a match we've seen numerous times over the last few weeks. I could not care less who wins. I liked the MJF/Cole promo stuff in the ring, however the video package (once again) is lowest common denominator rubbish. Just awful, the sort of stuff that makes you embarrassed if someone who likes normal things is in the same room as you. What's Jay's motive for teaming with Don Callis and attacking Kenny? Has this played out on AEW TV? Just putting things together at the last minute. Kenny interview segment was terrible, like laughably so, I didn't believe a word that came out of his mouth. I liked the Jericho bit but seriously, why have Takeshita run down and get made to look like a tosser? Just have Ospreay attack Jericho that's all it needs. Takeshita isn't even in the match. This probably bothered me more than it should. Also you can put the Bucks over clean you know given they have a match for the titles in front of 80K people at Wembley. Cassidy v Yuta was a good match. Every other bout was completely forgettable or unforgettable but for the wrong reasons. I just found the show depressing."
[6.0] "First hour started well. OC and Yuta had a really good match, the Kenny/BCG and Sting angles were good. It was also nice to see Nick Wayne get back into action and look decent. Then the 2nd hour came... which was some of the most nauseating and nonsensical television that Dynamite has produced this year. The Texas Chainsaw match was a complete shitter and killed the vibes. I've had enough of Jeff Jarett. Britt vs Bunny was just your typical lackluster women's match on Dynamite. The HOB angle was just odd and the main event, while pretty solid, was just not a good enough match to save the 2nd half of the show. I think the one thing that I liked most about this episode was it got in a lot of build towards All In, but besides that, not much to write home about. Mid Dynamite"
[3.0] "A pisspoor show only saved by some entertaining promo segments - especially the masterclass between Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Adam Cole. I was actually into the Chris Jericho and Don Callis stuff, but it kinda dragged a bit. Would've liked to see Jericho actually join Don's family instead of once again miscasting Jericho as a babyface and wasting Ospreay in Wembley by making him have to carry Jericho. Sting's promo was hilarious. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Death Match was one of the worst things (match/segment/whatever) ever put on AEW television and they've put quite a fair bit of crap out there. It rivals even the worst stuff WWE has ever put on TV... Gunns/Bucks was a decent TV match but not worthy of the main event. Britt vs Bunny was also a fine TV match but nothing more. Even Orange Cassidy vs Wheeler Yuta (who had an absolute clinic a few months ago on Dynamite) had an underwhelming match to open the show. This whole episode barring the promos was just off. Hopefully they can get right for the All In go-home show next week."
[5.0] "A decent episode, but I cared more about the promos than the matches. It seems that they are playing safe, which is understandable, since no one wants to get injuried so close to the big night. The angles with Sting and Chris Jericho were the highlights of the show to me."
[4.0] "Wasn't really feeling this one so much, especially for a special episode. I liked the opening match a lot but none of the others impressed me much at all. Kingston's return was awesome and MJF/Cole continue to tap into something special that I never expected. Sting being the huge goofball he is was good for a laugh."
[4.0] "An okay episode, with only 2 matches that were enjoyable which were the opening match and the main event, there were 2 matches that were not bad and one match that was unwatchable at times, the segments were okay at best. Orange Cassidy vs Wheeler Yuta: Really good match to start this week's episode, Wheeler Yuta looked like he could have been a major threat to the reign of Orange Cassidy, great in ring work from both men, Orange Cassidy winning was not unexpected but nice to see [***3/4]. Darby Allin & Nick Wayne vs Gates Of Agony: Decent match, with some good tag team work from Darby Allin & Nick Wayne, I liked how Allin threw himself at the monsters of Gates of Agony [**3/4]. Jeff Hardy vs Jeff Jarrett: I really wanted to like this match, but I just couldn't, I would not recommend this match, I do not know what Tony Khan was thinking when he signed this match, this should never have happened [1/2*]. Dr. Britt Baker DMD vs The Bunny: An okay match, the winner was obviously gonna be Dr. Britt Baker DMD, which isn't a bad idea to be honest, Penelope Ford getting involved should not have happened [**]. The Gunns vs The Young Bucks: Good match, surprised that The Gunns controlled the first half of the match, but when The Young Bucks started gaining momentum it got really interesting, the end was good as well, great momentum for The Young Bucks heading into their title challenge against FTR in London [***]"
[7.0] "A show moreso focused on angles & setting up matches for the Monster of a Wembley Stadium PPV. The actual in-ring matches ranged between god-awful to decent at best. The Don Callis/Chris Jericho angle was AWESOME. Don Callis is one of the best Heels in pro wrestling and it's not even funny. He is so believable. Chris Jericho appears to be reverting back to being "Lionheart" if you saw it flash on his titantron entrance video. I'm pretty sure that was meant to be a clue. To a prove doubters wrong that he can still "go" without being carried. The MJF/Adam Cole stuff continues to be one of the best wrestling storylines of 2023. I wonder where Roderick Strong & The Kingdom fit in with all this. They don't keep popping up just for the hell of it. They have a part to play in how MJF & Adam Cole revert back to being enemies eventually. There is some kind of swerve coming (no pun on Swerve Strickland). From what I see, MJF vs. Adam Cole is setting up to become a 2023 Feud of the Year Candidate. Sting's "Joker" character promo was also excellent. Good for AR Fox. He was going nowhere as a Babyface, turns Heel, joins Mogul Embassy, and now he finds himself fighting a Living Legend & an important young star of the future in front of 80, 000 people. Can't beat that. There sure where quite of bit of gang beatdown across this show as well."
[1.0] "Watching this was depressing. Every Dynamite typically has at least one promoted match that I end up liking or at least care about. This week had none of that. There was a really stupid pre taped skit with Kenny Omega that set up a match that should have been building for at least the past month. Instead it was all crammed into one show a week and a half before the PPV. I don't give a single crap about Wheeler Yuta and Orange Cassidy's reign has ran it's course by at least 2 months at this point. He should have dropped it to Swerve but will likely instead drop it to Moxley who doesn't need it at all. Darby and Nick Wayne tag was just to give Darby a win against Swerve's goons. Post match stuff with Sting was good though. This has been one of the few stories they've actually been building up for more than a week. Adam Cole/MJF segment was good, as they usually are. Death match was embarrassing and awful. At least the sponsorship money went to a good cause. Britt and Bunny was fine but didn't really get going before the abrupt finish. The main event felt like a Rampage opener. None of the matches on this show were up to Dynamite standards. A week like this would have been a great chance to showcase more women but alas, I've given up hope of that ever happening. Collision is a much better show even if that too also has it's flaws."
[3.0] "This show was very interesting. Was it the drizzling shits? No it wasn't. The in ring action was pretty weak overall throughout though. The one positive I can say is all the promos were really great. MJF/Cole hyped up there encounter for the tag match and there singles match, Joker Sting is back and more unhinged then before. Allright stuff but definitely one of the weaker shows aew has ever put out. Also less said bout the Texas Chainsaw Deathmatch the better."
[6.0] "A really okay show. The highlight of the night wasn't a match, shamefully, but the MJF/Cole segment, as it have been the tendency the last few episodes. There isn't much to add, really. While Wembley is making it's presence clear, I don't think it have been up to the standards it should have. Other than that, skip if you want, you ain't missing much, other than the awful Texas Chainsaw match. So bad it's enjoyable."
[2.0] "Probably the worst episode of Dynamite ever. The Texas Chain Saw match is the worst match AEW's ever done. Aside from the opener, which was fine, all the other matches were just bad. Better Than You Bay-Bay is the worst storyline AEW has ever done. It's such pretentious, corny-on-purpose, try-hard, ironic, Reddit-esque humor that it embarrasses me and honestly makes me a little sick. Insufferable. Absolutely insufferable and I don't know how anyone could enjoy this shit. Babyface MJF is the worst. I realize that was the 4th time I've used the word "worst" but I can't stress enough how bad this all was. And this is to say nothing of the fact that Tony Khan simply doesn't know how to build a PPV. It's like he just forgets to book segments or even announce matches so he has to cram everything in at the last minute. Do y'all realize there's a whole damn quarterly pay-per-view coming up one week after London and only one match has been booked? I don't think they even mentioned All Out once during the show. I understand a lot of the booking will be contingent on what happens at All In but maybe just don't schedule two such high profile events back to back? AEW is an absolute mess right now and hopefully this shit gets back on track after labor day. The 10's for this show (which again, includes the worst match AEW has ever had) proves that tribalism is alive and well on Cagematch despite the admins' best efforts. Well that and also a lot of people here just don't understand how rating things works. Must've got that from listening to Uncle Dave. A generous 2 out of 10 for the watchable opener and Roderick Strong's steady progression into the world's biggest loser dork, which is hilarious."
[1.0] "Worst episode of Dynamite I've ever seen. So much to say but I don't want to waste too much time recalling this nonsense. The wrestling topped out as mediocre and bottomed out at embarrassing. The pretapes were all horrible. I got a chuckle out of the camera cuts to JR, but they had me laughing for all the wrong reasons. Also, Omega mentioning Callis feeding him steroids as part of his good memories of Don...uhhh, what? The build to the most attended wrestling show ever has been awful, and the card, on paper, is looking real mid. MJF is a PG comedy goof afraid of Tony Khan now. My how things have changed."
[8.0] "Feel like this good score is mostly carried by the All In story progression on the show. I did enjoy all the matches but I felt like they were secondary to the angles set up. Opener is still good but I am much more interested with who is in stadium stampede with the BCC. The Elite promos set up their match with BCG and Take at the show while also highlighting why the fight is important. Jericho promo took a bit of time, probably too much if you ask me, but it was done in a way I didnt expect as well. Glad to see Ospreay back and on the All In card. Darby tag was fine but secondary to Sting acting as campy as hes ever been backstage addressing the All In match with Swerve. The Cole/MJF stuff, both backstage as well as in ring was maybe the best widely appealing thing for the night. They laid out everything and makes me invested in the match. As well as what Roddy and OGK are doing. The Texas Chainsaw match is overhated. I know a lot of folks think its bad but it served its purpose, it was campy as hell and even though I think it could have been better if taken longer to produce or whatever, I still found some fun moments from it. Womens match was pretty much just an okay return for the Bunny and to get Britt on the card. Now I actively do think the Acclaimeds segment didnt need Dynamite. That angle could have been run on Collision unless its time/build sensitive. The main event tag was also nice. Typical Bucks stuff and the Gunns are working better and better every day. FTR coming in for the save and teasing a hit, not unlike Cole earlier, but I think it ended the show well. Decent episode, made the build to All In decent but perhaps the matches on the show and other aspects werent as fleshed out as could be."
[9.0] "While the wrestling wasn't the greatest AEW has to offer, the promos and vignettes were amazing and really helped set the stage for All In in under 2 weeks. Very entertaining episode, with the highlight being the MJF/Adam Cole taped video followed up by a promo battle in the middle of the ring."
[1.0] "These ten ratings are pretty funny. This was an egregiously awful show, from top to bottom. When your strongest showing is the obligatory Orange Cassidy victory, you have issues. Ospreay showing up to plug Jericho with a chair is worth one point, just due to finally confirming the former's presence at All In. Obviously, Ospreay was occupied with the G1 and this was probably the earliest he could've shown up in the states. That being said, I don't care about the match they're setting up. In fact, the card of All In is kinda...whatever. I still hope for glimpses of the AEW that broke me out of the Fed, that introduced me to TJPW & NJPW and kept me glued to my seat on Wednesday nights. I keep hearing Collision is the A show, so maybe I ought to check that out instead."
[4.0] "There are serious questions to raise about the booking recently. AEW's biggest show ever is coming up in a week and a half and they've not only thrown together many of the matches - including some which have been thrown together a week and a half before the show itself - but they're also making themselves look like a complete joke with things like the Texas Chain Saw Massacre Death Match. This show died with that match. It wasn't great beforehand but some of the talk stuff was okay. The Omega segment was a bit weird. Felt like a comedy skit the way they cut to JR non-reaction shots. The Cole and MJF stuff is still mostly pretty good even if the pre-recorded bits can be a bit much, but there's potential in their story at Wembley with Cole potentially being the guy to look for an advantage against MJF in the tag match. Could go either way but I hope it's Cole. Being able to think ahead and wonder "What if? " is a good sign in storytelling. It means pieces are adding up and pointing somewhere. That's something you can't say for much of this episode or the Wembley card. Thankfully AEW have a good track record with the wrestling on their PPVs but you'd expect more from the build to their biggest show. On top of that, AEW have All Out just one week later, so they're botching two builds in one go. So much for Ospreay vs Omega 3. Guess that's for Wrestle Kingdom. The card could have benefitted from an Omega singles match. RevPro's Ospreay vs Shingo might end up being the best match in London that weekend."
[7.0] "Wrestling wise it wasnt the greatest, but the promos and pre tapes and other stuff was extremely enjoyable. Gunns didnt look too bad, Orange and Yuta was not as good as their original. Overall, a pretty good set up show for all in, and everyone has been complaining about them not setting anything up for it, so I think it was the right to to do it."
[6.0] "The wrestling overall was poor, which is a real let down on a wrestling focused show, but the story telling was good, and we had several good advancements of story lines. I'd lose 2 points for the TCSM match, and add a point for story telling, giving it a 6."
[10.0] "My kind of Dynamite. Ten out of ten episode, for me. Enjoyed watching it. Enjoyed all the stuff that happened. Laughed a lot. Liked the matches. Liked the segments. Liked the promos. Thought it was great. Very fun episode. Still need to fill this with more characters."
[4.0] "This is among the worst episodes of Dynamite and, more so, might be my least favorite. There were a couple good matches and promos on it, so I can't completely bury it, but the Jeff Jarrett-Jeff Hardy is my leader for worst match of the year; I hated the Adam Cole-MJF pretape; and we had a bog average women's match & what might have been the least interesting Young Bucks TV match ever that wasn't a squash."
[3.0] "A very bad episode. So many angles crammed into the show before All In, but not in a good way. The MJF/Adam Cole segment was the clear highlight. The wrestling was an afterthought, although the atrocious "Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch" did enter 'so bad it's good' territory for me. An overall frustrating show."
[2.0] "Dynamite has completely lost it's way, there is very little here that actually matters, a bad feud between best friends/lucha bros and the bcc, the DREADFUL worst match of the year Jeff vs Jeff match who asked for this Russo-esq bollocks, Britt vs Bunny felt setup to fail, a terrible match, stop having bad women wrestle on TV, Bucks vs Gunns was whatever. The Swerve/Darby stuff is fantastic and WAHEY for Joker Sting, MJF and Cole is fantastic, the rest of this show is in the god damn toilet. Kenny Omega's shite interview aswell, cannot act to save his life."
[5.0] "This show did a lot of things I wish AEW did more. Storytelling through promos and video packages, continuing consistant storylines from one show to another, actually building towards a PPV. I'm not excited for the All-In card in the slightest, but this episode, at the very least, did add some credibility to the matchups by virtue of actually focusing on them for the first time. Unfortunately, the back hour of this show was tremendously bad on all fronts. The Chainsaw Massacre match was so embarrassing it soured the rest of the show and never pulled me back in. The Kenny pre-tape and constant run-ins also felt egregious, since these matches and feuds should have been established and built up to on the plethora of AEW shows in the months prior to properly lead to their biggest show of the year. The breakneck pacing of the first hour was appreciated, because even if the wrestling wasn't all that great, I was still entertained. The second hour killed that."
[5.0] "This show did NOT made me more interested in All In. Even just its better parts, the MJF-Cole and Jericho-Callis-Ospreay segments, it seemed just not good enough. I guess it did set a lot of things for the event, but man, the road to must of them was a rough one to watch."
[8.0] "Show not very centered in the in ring for this time, and that doesn't hurt, it's still the most entertaining weekly of the week, storylines advanced, great matches for All In were announced, the crowd was entertained, that's all we ask, AEW got us so used to PPV type weekly that when a completely normal weekly is aired people are mixed, which is quite the opposite for other companies."
[7.0] "I was there live and there is no way this show is a fucking zero. The only truly horrendous part of it was the Chainsaw Deathmatch, which killed the crowd, but other than that we were highly entertained, particularly by the segments with Jericho, Sting, and MJF/Cole. Don't know how it translated on camera, but we were booing Callis so loudly that we could not hear him speak until Jericho asked us to winkwink let him hear what Callis was saying. All the matches barring the Deathmatch bullshit were enjoyable, and many matches were established for Wembley with fun appearances by Ospreay, etc."
[7.0] "This site is cooked. A lot of reviews of this episode of Dynamite and the other matches are invaded by people who rate modern Brock Lesnar matches 10 points, and only rate WWE shows/matches. Tribalism exists and will continue to exist on this site, no matter what changes are made. Anyways, this show was great up until the Texas Chainsaw match, which was pure nonsense. Promos and video packages were fantastic and the matches up until Hardy/Jarrett were solid. This show gets a 7 from me. Also, this isn't "a show before their big PPV" some people here need to understand what a go home show is, because this was not that."
[6.0] "Only because of chainsaw death match I give this episode Score of 6, Promos and matches was good, Quality of promos was more than matches but still enjoyable, I'm so happy that Ospreay is part of All In and can't wait for see him in action again, I want Ospreay vs omega but This is fine."
[4.0] "The penultimate Dynamite before the biggest PPV in AEW history was underwhelming (to say the least). I understand the proceeds of the marketing tie-in with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game are being donated to the Maui Wildfires - but that doesn't forgive the match being the worst in AEW history. Jeff Hardy should not be on TV in 2023. Same with Jeff Jarrett having any measure of creative control in 2023. It's becoming an indictment on the company and a detriment to the product. I'd be happy if I never see Planet Jarrett or the Hardy Party again for as long as I live - but we gotta keep giving TV time to the geriatrics for their cheap nostalgia pops. Forget about the young talent that are the future of your company! Absolutely atrocious. A lot of people are complaining about the Wembley card - and rightfully so. The card is lacking one single dream match. It also has been put together in the last two weeks, with the build coming frantically at the last minute (to mixed results). There are also several notable stars missing from the card; Sammy Guevara, Wardlow, Jungle Boy, Jade Cargill, Daniel Garcia, Miro, Powerhouse Hobbs, Hook, Andrade, The Acclaimed, House of Black and, perhaps the most egregious, Ricky Starks (who was passed over for the CM Punk match at Wembley - despite feuding with the man for months - and is now banned from competing at Wembley AND All Out, meaning he won't even be on the card in a "let's make the boys happy" battle royal). Starks essentially got suspended for 30 days before the World Series. But don't worry - MJF and Adam Cole are on the show twice. So it's all good. Also, non-AEW stars like Kota Ibushi and Will Ospreay are being given prime positions (with a rumored slot for Grado and Shingo Takagi as well), while relatively new signees AR Fox, Aussie Open, Jay White and Juice Robinson are being prominently featured (despite being in the company for a cup of tea). Sounds about right. THIS IS THE BIGGEST SHOW IN THE COMPANY'S HISTORY and this is what you've put together? ! ? ! It's disrespectful and I imagine a lot of wrestlers are going to be disgruntled after this. I know a lot of fans are. Anyways, this was a middling episode that frantically tried to build to a PPV that should have already been built MONTHS AGO. And no, Bryan Danielson being injured doesn't excuse the fact that you've only focused on ONE STORY (MJF/Adam Cole) for the last three months."
[4.0] "This was a horrible show. Not even going to talk about the Jeff v Jeff match; sure, do it for the crossover, but it was shit, just like I understood Miz and zombies but thought it was horrible. Now, the true problems: the main event, which was absolutely poor, and shows that if the YBs do not like you, they will not struggle to teach you something in the ring if you are a rising yet green team. Britt Baker 's match was cold as ice; partly because it followed the Massacre match, but partly because the match was so bad. OC vs Wheeler was exactly what you expected. Not bad, not great, but that's the issue-OC matches have become so boring, because nothing happens. Finally, can we take some time and talk about Wembley? Multi-men, not big singles matches...it will be disappointing. I will be there, and I really hoped to see their top stars in real matches."
[5.0] "Another disappointed Dynamite show with continuing the bad build up for ALL IN. Ospreay vs Jericho is not the match we want, Cassidy vs Wheeler was average but the result is bad I do not know why this very very good booking is giving to Cassidy. The Texas chain saw massacre death match one of the worst matches of the year. There were too many negatives at the show, like not showing Omega as the star of the company and putting him in a gathering match just to fill the card. Good to see Darby Allen wrestle and Sting cutting a promo."
[8.0] "This episode was pure chaos from start to finish, with AEW scrambling to announce the matches for All In. Matches like Young Bucks vs. The Gunns & Cassidy vs. Yuta brought some solid action to the table, as expected from the names involved. The promo between MJF & Cole was incredible, with their storyline and teases being some of the best things happening in professional wrestling right now. I personally even enjoyed the dumb as hell Texas Chainsaw match, it did exactly what it needed to do on the show. Add in the return of Sting in his Joker persona, Don Callis being a snake once again, the return of Eddie Kingston, and the announcement of Golden Elite vs. Bullet Club Gold - and I enjoyed this show a lot. It did a lot to get me excited for All In, and kept me engaged throughout."
[9.0] "I thought this was a much better Dynamite than last week. Loved a lot of the angles done tonight to set up the remaining matches for All In. The Jericho/Don stuff was really good, the OC/YUTA post-match was a lot of fun and I am intrigued by the upcoming Elite/BCG feud. The MJF/Adam Cole in-ring promo was EXCELLENT. Sold me on the whole All In show. Also, I hate to admit it... But I enjoyed the MJF/Cole comedy skit this week. The Jarrett/Hardy match was not good at all, but it was very funny in a so-bad-its-good type of way. All the other matches were good to great. Dynamite was a thumbs up this week. Good stuff."
[7.0] "This is the closest thing to an actual episode of Attitude Era RAW that I have seen live in at least a decade. You hear that, kids? THIS IS WHAT IT WAS REALLY LIKE. Not like what Peacock documentaries and incorrectly-remembered internet nostalgia tells you. It was lots of pre tapes, long in-ring promos, lots of hyping up PPVs, occasionally good matches that never went longer than ten minutes, deep swings in crowd heat and some of the strangest, poorly thought out stuff you could imagine. JR sitdowns, baffling corporate crossovers, the same act in back-to-back segments, post-match faction beatdowns, flabbergasted announcers... what a weird bit of time travel this was."
[7.0] "A two show Dynamite. The first hour was one of the best hours they've ever produced. Frenetic pace setting up All In with good promos and angles. I thought the hype o'meter for All In really went up a notch and it was successfully obtained for all the builds of the big matches. The opener and tag matches were great and accomplished what they were going for. The second hour took a deep to the bad. The obvious lowlight is the Texas Chainsaw Deathmatch. Still, I think the good outweighs the bad when it comes to this show."
