[5.0] "More segments than matches. More words than punches. More selling "what's coming" than giving us anything good now. There's a good match (Rollins vs. Breaker), a decent match (Tyler vs. Wes), two tag matches that mean nothing. And a horrible match (Dana vs. Cora). Dana "gets injured" for the commercial break, but then "heals" and fights back, only to lose."

[9.0] "The Meta-Four tag match was just a squash and Jade Vs Brooke was really bad, but Lee Vs Bate and the NXT Tag Title contendership triple threat were both good and Breakker Vs Rollins was fantastic. Overall NXT Gold Rush (2023) Day 1 is a fantastic show."

[9.0] "All around great stuff. The only rough match was Cora/Dana, but even then Cora was doing pretty good. Seth Rollins is a really good wrestler. That's all I can really say every match he has. He could maybe go down as one of the best talents WWE ever has. This show was a display of what NXT can be at it's best though. Hope next week can match up."

[5.0] "Lee Vs Bate with Ali as referee, a special experiment that turned out to be positive for me; What a good match the teams had, Malik Blake, Edris Enofe, Jensen, Briggs, Walker and Ledger excelled in that match, I loved that match; How beautiful to see Frazer and Rollins together; The truth is that I already lost faith in Humberto and Angel Garza months ago, but hopefully this time they use them well, they are guaranteed talent; skippeable Cora Jade Vs Dana Brooke, a waste of time; That Von Wagner promo with Robert Stone touched my heart, I no longer expected anything from these two, I already thought they were going to be clowns forever, but this path that NXT is taking with these two, I love it, I hope it bears fruit I already see Wagner as a champion even; I still don't understand how they don't fire Lash Legend, on top of that he wins with such a sad big boot? , disgusting; Nice match between Breakker and Rollins, at least it was one of the best matches that the rookie of the Breakker botches had."

[5.0] "Smug faced Ali's guest ref antics made the opener somewhat entertaining, but the action was wishy washy and one particular sequence was terrible. Hail's pep rally was painful, so I was relieved when Stratton interrupted and cut a much better promo than the last time she was in front of a live crowd. Things got physical and Hail tapped Stratton out with a kimura then ran around like a child. I look forward to Stratton squashing her next week. Triple threat tag was chaotic and not very good, but Enofe hit a nice springboard off Briggs back into a dropkick. Backstage, a ridiculous looking Joe Coffey was with the other two Gallus bores when they were approached by Garza & Carrillo. In the storage area, Thorpe had decks for some reason. Kemp approached Thorpe and challenged him to a 'no ropes' match. In the locker room, Rollins talked to the bulbous heritage cup and the charisma vacuum that was peaking out from behind it. Respectful Hayes & Trick came in for a love in with Rollins who did his repulsive 'laughing' gimmick as my blood boiled. Cora vs Brooke was a bizarre spectacle that was abysmal in multiple ways, but Cora's good heel work, the ludicrous booking, the contrarian crowd and Brooke's ridiculous, comedy "MY KNEE" selling all made this a sight to behold, it was definitely my highlight of the night, I loved it. Wagner told Stone about his childhood trauma, which was obviously real, but Wagner's line delivery and Stone's 'earnest' facial expressions made it hard to take seriously, but I liked the segment. Hayes and Corbin had a face to face promo battle and it bored me to tears. In the parking lot, Stacks did Coffey a favour by bundling him into the boot of his car to save him anymore embarrassment from being seen on TV with that hairstyle. During the women's tag, Lola Vice came out and everybody forgot there was a match happening, including Booker T who wanted the cameraman to zoom in on her. Unfortunately, Lola's brief appearance wasn't enough to distract me from the fact that the match sucked. Breakker vs Rollins was decent, but I expected more. I don't care about what happened post match because I don't watch Raw so it was completely worthless to me. Dragunov and Tatum were nowhere to be seen this week, Jobber Bernal continues to be absent, while Duke remains saddled with the Chase U stuff that Gulak has also been dragged into, these are big negatives for me as they're all favourites of mine. So once again, into the breach steps unlikely hero Cora Jade, who was once someone I dreaded seeing. The main event was the best match of the night but was not a must watch. The only match I would say to go out of your way to see is Cora vs Brooke because it has to be seen to be believed."

[7.0] "The opening North American Title match between Wes Lee and Tyler Bate with Mustafa Ali as the referee wasn't as good as it should have been. Ali being there took away from the match itself, and it felt more like an angle to build to a triple threat match down the line (6.5/10). Thea Hail's title shot celebration and confrontation with Tiffany Stratton was good. The triple threat tag team match was pretty good, solid action throughout with the right team winning (6.5/10). Cora Jade vs Dana Brooke was a complete mess. Not only was the wrestling sloppy and went in slow motion, they tried to do an injury angle with Dana being the fighting babyface but it backfired horribly and resulted in the heel Cora being cheered more (3/10). Carmelo Hayes and Baron Corbin had a decent confrontation, so both of the top titles received some positive attention. The women's tag match was okay for how short it went, nothing special. The main event of Seth Rollins vs Bron Breakker for the World Heavyweight Championship was good, although a little disappointing. It would have been better to see Bron get some more offense and Rollins to sell a little more, but I understand why that didn't happen (7.5/10). The end of the show with Finn Balor attacking Rollins was good. Overall, a pretty good special episode of NXT. 7/10"

[8.0] "Good show great matches promos and main event the best promo was Rollins post match promo , it was nice and heartfelt to the fans. Wes vs Tyler was good Ali discounted but also somewhat helped during the end , Ali's seriousness was great , Ali vs Wes should happen that would be so good. The triple threat mens tag match was great Hank is meh in the ring he's generic but the other men were good Malik and Edris had the crowd support and got the win by Malik's frog splash which looked nice Malik and Edris vs Gallus should be good. Cora vs Dana was the worst match of the night it was a bad idea and concept for these two women to have this bad finish because even before that most of the match wasn't interesting ok match ruined by a meh finish. Cora is learning how to become more of a heel but the crowd actually liked her beating down Dana which I agree with Dana is not good on the mic and meh in the ring. The women's tag between Lash and Jakara vs Valentina and Yulisa was fine for the time it got but the ending with Oro wasn't that good I liked Lash and Jakara's double team maneuvers. The main event was the best match good stuff Rollins put on a banger with Breakker. Seeing Finn in nxt was good and Carmelo interacting with Rollins was good I want to see Rollins vs Melo , that would be good."

[7.0] "NXT Gold Rush was not a bad show at all, it kept a good pace until the end and was never boring. I really appreciated the reduction in the number of matches but guaranteeing more playing time for the athletes. The only negative note was the match between Cora and Dana Brooks which I didn't like at all as it was written. The Main Event was stellar, Bron Breakker proves ready for the main roster."
