[8.0] "Easily one of the best Dynamites of the year, i don't get why the rating is so low here, this show had everything exciting until the main event, which is not Shida's fault at all. The matches were pretty good, and the segments delivered a lot, that MJF and Cole segment was one of the best I've ever watched."
[7.0] "Some ups and dows but overall the show was fun: the Jas mandatory meeting was an okay segment. Young Bucks vs. Hardys was good, not great but not as bad as people say. Only the Bucks can pull out a good match from the Hardys nowdays. The announcement of Young Bucks vs. Ftr 3 at All In in the post-match was great, tho. Perry vs. Van Dam was fun, Van Dam is still in a great shape and the action was very good with RVD pulling out some of his classic manuevers. Mjf/Adam Cole's segments were the highlights of the show, great stuff. The second part of the show dragged it down: Sting doing the same thing over and over again, I can't get hyped anymore I'm sorry. BCC vs. Lucha Bros was decent but very dissapointing, the crowd was mostly dead, there were a couple of very strange moments and where the hell are Best Friends in the post-match? Shida vs. Anna Jay was bad. Anna lost almost every single match this year so this she has the opportunity to face the champ in the main event? What Parker was going for in the end, put her arm on the ropes? Bad match and bocthed finish: awful way to close the show. Overall: the show was good but it could've been better, the final two matches dragged the show down."
[8.0] "Funny how the main "Critique" if you can call it that about AEW's showings is that they don't focus enough on STORY and PROMOS. Yet every time a Dynamite his heavier with those two over matches the rating is usually 2 points lower than normal. How interesting indeed. Just goes to show you that there will never be a balance for wrestling fans. Not really anyways. But either way this was actually a great episode with only hicup being Anna Jay given a mainevent title match she clearly isnt ready to deliver on but at least she tried I guess. Everything is running super smoothly as the buildup to All In and everything is falling perfectly into place. Very good watch for sure"
[7.0] "Nothing too spectacular but a pretty good show. I thought all the matches were good, but nothing was great. The JAS imploding segment was alright but none of the members outside of Guevara and Garcia are great on the mic. The Cole and MJF partnership has been fun and makes me honestly wonder who will turn on who. Enjoyed the return of Sting segment. Overall, a good show but nothing great."
[6.0] "I thought this was a fine show overall not a huge spectacular super card or anything but a good watch. My match of the night was RVD vs Jack Perry which I enjoyed decently enough due to RVD's amazing performance at the age of freaking 52 everything else I rated 6 or 7 out of 10, so nothing really was bad on this show. Yes including the main event, Y'all are far too hard on the AEW women, and honestly on western women's matches in general. Segment wise I enjoyed everything Adam Cole and MJF related. My inner animal hated that MJF teased us with a skinny dipping segment only for it to be a joke. Give me what I want Tony Khan! (I'm aware I deserve a bonk for that) though the MJF murders kids with dodgeballs was very funny so that's the 2nd best thing they could have delivered on. When it got to MJF and Cole's arena promo I cracked up when MJF flinched when he said "let me be struck down" (If he's lying about saying the midwest is the best) I also kind of felt bad for Roddy Strong because He's right, MJF was evil like 5 minutes ago Adam Cole probably shouldn't trust him. Dave Meltzer said Cole and MJF is drawing on TV though so take that info as you may, and who I am to try and stop something that everyone loves. I'm glad there's going to be a coffin match at Wembley, as the last one AEW did was quite good and it's a stip that is often slept on in my opinion. Finally I know everyone likes different things in wrestling but the people rating this show 5/10 and below are either in bad faith or have extremely high expectations for AEW, because if this same show aired on WWE TV people would be rating it much higher, though that's just a theory (a game theory) 6/10"
[7.0] "A very solid show to build on what's coming up in London at the end of the month. There are good fights but not so much stands out this show, it really had good lineup, but I think many of us thought more could have been given, still, very good show and is quite enjoyable overall."
[5.0] "The show had some highlights, but overall did not do a very good job building interest for itself. The opening segment was okay, but took too long to get its point across. The matches were also okay, but nothing memorable happened. I like Perry's new look and RVD looked awesome for his age. Bucks were fine and the Hardys tried hard, but their bodies are more broken down than Tanahashi's, so it hurt by proxy just looking at them move around. BCC and Lucha Bros were fine, too, but I do not really get the point of their feud, as there is nothing at stake. The main event tried, but could not hold my interest, sorry."
"A pretty nothing show overall, but that is on me for expecting so much from an out of prime Rob van Dam and Anna Jay main eventing in a botch fest of a match, Shida deserves better chances overall. Speaking about old wrestlers (botches), the night was notorious about it, with even Hardys vs Bucks would have produced an all timer a decade before only to feel clunky at the end. Heck even Moxley had an off day. (Grade: D+)"
[6.0] "I had a lot of fun with the RVD match, it's cool that we got to see FTR and Bucks confront each other although I do wish we got a little bit more from that segment. Very glad to see that match happening at Wembley. MJF doing his thing with Adam Cole was probably the biggest highlight of the show. Womens main event had a very awkward finish. I just hope TK is fully onboard with improving the division, the division needs more storylines/in ring promos."
[5.0] "There were only four matches on this episode and only the first two, if any, were worth watching. When The Bucks aren't being overdramatic, they're among the best when it comes to their particular style. I think they deserve that credit, and they managed to help the Hardys have one of the best matches either Hardy has been in for a while. Perry vs RVD also wasn't bad for a nostalgia match. RVD gave a pretty good account of himself. The talk and video package segments probably went quite a way to making this episode more bearable, but there wasn't a high standard when it came to the actual wrestling. Glad Aussie Open got added to Wembley. Think I would have preferred an FTR rematch over Bucks vs FTR but Bucks vs FTR and Cole/MJF vs Aussie Open doesn't sound bad on paper (as long as an MJF double-cross doesn't make the match just an angle)."
[4.0] "It was an okay show, nothing really compelling.Too many nostalgia acts in AEW right now, the Hardys, RVD, they both were way better in their prime, maybe they should slow down their style and not do any high flying moves since they are past their prime. Claudio putting on the mask was really good heel work, especially since the group barely does any heel stuff like that. FTR/Bucks confrontation was kinda mid, maybe the Bucks should win some tag matches before randomly getting a challenge for the title."
"I thought Dynamite was an underwhelming episode. Nothing spectacular. I thought some of the matches being announced for AEW All In was the biggest takeaway for me. The JAS mandatory meeting was decent, all of the members walking out on Jericho. MJF and Adam Cole had their typical segment that had fans attention. The Blackpool Combat Club are the best faction in AEW right now with their dominance without Bryan Danielson and the main event was boring. Successful title defense for Hikaru Shida, who'll be the champ heading into Wembley Stadium on the 27th."
[5.0] "Very by the numbers episode of dynamite, nothing go out of your way to watch but something that you wouldn't be upset watching, but not the kinda show you should be doing before your biggest show you'll ever do, the energy of AEW this year has been very very different, the electricity that this show originally had is gone, it doesn't feel must watch anymore at all, the show itself feels very apathetic to watch, alot of stuff needs a revamp asap, new angles, new storylines, new everything."
[6.0] "Really more of a 6.5 for me but alas that is not an option. So it felt more closer to the 6 than the 7 so rolled with a 6 here. Matches were nothing remarkable: Hardys need to retire and Anna Jay needs to be sent to ROH and the indies or go on a Japanese excursion to get reps in. Shes too youn and inexperienced to just rely solely on getting booked in AEW for her reps, especially when they don't do Dark anymore, not that short five minute matches in Dark helped much but it's better than nothing. MJF and Adam Cole stuff stays delivering though. Wasn't a fan of the JAs breakup segment but glad to see JAS is done and at least they got that out of the way early so I could look forward to the rest of the show."
[4.0] "A show that wasn't bad enough to be bad, but not good enough to be good. I've really enjoyed the last several weeks of AEW programming, but this was a visible step back. The weirdest thing about it is that it had multiple spots overdeliver. I went into the show dreading the JAS town hall, but great promos from Garcia and 2point0 and a solid one from Anna Jay pulled the segment up. The Hardys vs Bucks match was actually pretty good, the Bucks did their thing and the Hardys held their own. That said, it's clear that Matt (Hardy) and Jeff have lost the touch in the ring and need to start transitioning to life after wrestling. Jungle Jackass and RVD was the big surprise, and highlight of the night. RVD doesn't have a ton left in the tank, he was noticeably gassed near the end of the match, but he's still got enough to work. Seeing the entrance to Walk and him hit all the trademark spots was awesome. Jack's really taking to the heel role too, I initially thought the turn was a bit abrupt, but he's making it work and getting better every week. BCC and the Lucha Bros always deliver, but this match wasn't up to each team's usual quality. It was fine, but a bit too sloppy to be anything special. Some fun spots like Mox and Penta's chop off saved it from being too dire. I also loved Claudio putting on Penta's mask, great visual and Claudio giving the birds was awesome. Shida and Anna Jay was another match that was just fine. Jay has improved, but not enough to be a real player in the division. The botched finish didn't do anyone any favors."
[8.0] "Good episode of Dynamite with some really good matches, one that I wasn't too keen on which was the main event, The Jericho Appreciation Society Mandatory Meeting was cool to watch but can't believe that all of them walked away from Chris Jericho. Adam Cole and MJF's promo was good and interesting especially with Roderick Strong going off with The Kingdom and that Cole and MJF will challenge for the ROH World Tag Team Championship in London on the All In: The Buy In. Swerve's promo wasn't too keen on, but the announcement of Darby Allin & Sting vs AR Fox & Swerve Strickland in a Tag Team Coffin Match at All In was interesting. The Young Bucks vs The Hardy Boys: Great opener for Dynamite this week, The Hardy Boys proved they can still hang with the best tag teams, The Young Bucks picking up the win was surprising as was rooting for The Hardy Boys all the way [****]. Jack Perry vs Rob Van Dam: Very good match, even if the low blow at the end ruined it, RVD showing that he can still go at this point in his career, the referee spot was surprising to see [***1/2]. Blackpool Combat Club vs The Lucha Brothers: Decent tag team match, would have been better if the BCC didn't resort to taking the mask off the head of Penta, and if Wheeler Yuta did not get involved, the ending stretch sequence with the striking from both teams was good to see [***3/4]. Anna Jay vs Hikaru Shida: Okay match, but got to take into account that Anna Jay is still green in the ring, especially against a veteran like Hikaru Shida, should not have been in the main event however it was still watchable [**1/2]"
[9.0] "Apart from the main event, it was a good show. No great matches but a lot of storyline advancement and plenty of matches annouced/confirmed for all in. The best part of the show was still Adam Cole and MJF. I was really impressed by RDV, the man is 52 years old but can still put an entertaining match."
[6.0] "Decent episode with serviceable matches and some solid promo work, but nothing that stands out as moment or match of the night. Opening JAS fall apart had some bright spots from 2.0, but was bit of a snoozer. The veterans are the ones that get some shine tonight, with the Hardys shockingly solid, and RVD looking damn good. Sting returns to setup his All In match with uber villain Swerve. Ladies match probably should've opened tonight."
[6.0] "Starting off with a promo and cutting to commercial right after left a bad taste in my mouth and I wasn't a fan of this week's MJF and Cole segment due to the post production aspect of it. Their promo segment was good tho. The in ring work on the show was pretty good as well, despite an extremely lackluster main event"
[8.0] "7.5 episode. Lotta talking. Not much really said. I'm not a promo guy. Prefer matches but that's kinda my problem with this episode. Bucks vs Hardys was a slow start but ended up being a good match. I marked the F out seeing RVD go. Good flashbacks to the 90s. He looked great. Women's match was not good. Love Anna Jay but not ready for main events. Pentagon Bros had an off night. Weird show. Weird crowd. Next."
[9.0] "The issue is great, both in terms of matches and segments. The matches are good, Rob Van Dam showed himself well. The announced matches at the London show I like. Looking forward to Moxley vs. Orange, Omega vs. Takeshita, well everything else. Issue 9/10"
"the show was good, let the storylines build, next week we'll see more matches become official, why try to fit everyone in like that? All In is going to be incredible thanks to its intelligent build. The opening wasn't legendary but it wasn't long either, the Hardys did a good job, Jeff is in very good form, the Cole/MJF segment was once again incredible, I don't understand the note"
[4.0] "TK, you know the biggest show in your company's history is weeks away right? Opening segment was terrible. Hardys completely stink and should retire. Why isnt Takeshita beating credible opponents every week on Dynamite? Where is Hangman? More NXT comedy bullshit between your Alll In Main Event and now they're also having a tag match for some reason. The womens four way is a joke. Just drop the division if this is as much effort as youre going to put into it. Why is Storm getting the bye and not Shida? If its because "well Shida already had a match booked" then it means you obviously came up with the tournament and four way in the last week. Oh great, Saraya is in it. Wonder who's winning in London. Completely forgettable, cold show when this promotion should be on fire leading into Wembley."
[3.0] "So if last week was a celebration of AEW and Dynamite I guess this show was booked to highlight the flaws? Opening with a lame JAS promo and then having the Hardyz stumble around the ring was certainly a choice. The FTR/Bucks confrontation was the laziest type of segment that seemed to be built around a huge crowd reaction that never came. BCC and the Lucha Bros had an overlong match to set up... nothing really. And then I guess Tony Khan decided to kill all the goodwill from last week's main event in one swoop by putting Anna Jay in a title match main event? Anna Jay who has been getting beaten by newcomer rookies for most of the year because it's clear she isn't progressing at all in the ring. And to cap off that awful match, Angelo Parker has one of the most bizarre botches I can recall in trying to interfere that I've ever seen. The women got the main event but it's still the same shit. The only saving grace of this show was RVD."
[5.0] "I thought this show was okay. Adam Cole and MJF killed it this week with their promo calling out Aussie Open for the Wembley show. But It started off with the destruction of the JAS as everyone walked out on Jericho one by one in what I thought was another great segment. BUCKS/HARDYS- They gave you exactly what you were expecting. Highflying, spots every lil bit. Allright opener but I felt this match was just missing somthing compared to usual Buck matches. 3and1/2*. RVD/JACK- Amazing outing from Rob here not to much went wrong. Its allways great to hear Rob come out to Walk. There was one messy botch near the end because Rob over shoots a springboard but other then that a fine hardcore match with chairs, tables and even a ref bump. 3*. BCC/LUCHA- This half of the show severely lacked for me, this match was really slow paced, boaring and could not hold my attention span after what I witnessed before it. Near the end the BCC rip off Pentas mask and Claudio puts the mask on himself in a kinda funny moment. 1and3/4*. SHIDA/JAY- This hurts me to say but this was one of the worst AEW main events in awhile. And I like Shida, I guess I really dont like Anna Jay. Match felt sloppy and slow not to mention that botched ending.1*. Overall a slightly weaker Dynamite compared to what we usually get but I still think it was allright."
"Really good Wembley build on this show with an especially good segment and vignette from MJF and Cole. From an in-ring perspective, it wasn't a usual Dynamite but shockingly both RVD and the Hardys pulled off good matches. The main event started well but had a really odd finish and some sloppiness right before the show went off the air which always leaves a bad taste. But overall an enjoyable show."
[8.0] "One comment in, and I see a 3? This was way better than a 3. In my opinion this was a good episode of dynamite. The opening segment was meh, but it got its point across with Jericho leaving the JAS. Although the JAS itself is a pretty lame faction, Jericho is a polarizing figure that you want to see what happens next with him, and they got us hooked to watch next week, presumably joining the Don Callis family. Next, it was the Adam Cole and MJF segment that was absolutely hilarious once again, and in-ring promo was great as well. RVD and Jack Perry was really good, and it was honestly a good showing for RVD at his age. Solid tag match from the BCC, but I don't know what implications it has on Wembley yet. The main event was kind of a stinker in my opinion. Anna Jay looks green, and although the women are main eventing, the wembley stadium booking for the women implies much hasnt changed"
[5.0] "Not the greatest show, and definitely disappointing from an in-ring perspective compared to what's expected from an AEW product. Opening with the Jericho Appreciation Society segment killed momentum, and things never quite picked up. Giving only 8 minutes to the main event was questionable, and the tournament structure felt contrived. Why is this culminating in a four-way instead of a singles match? I'm not a fan of incorporating the ROH tag titles into the stellar MJF/Cole story. Bringing ROH onto the main product when it should serve as TKs developmental has been a major mistake given the already bloated AEW roster, and I think slapping those titles onto AEW main eventers is taking away from younger talent who deserve them. That being said, Aussie Open and MJF/Cole should be a great match. The Swerve segment and RVDs match saved the night from being a total bust."
[3.0] "After the high of last week's Dynamite, I thought tonight's show sucked ASS, Those shitty Adam Cole/MJF pre-tapes returned, and their in-ring stuff wasn't all that great this week either. Roddy is a terrible actor and is bringing the story down. A LOT of shitters in the ring this week. Anna Jay, The Hardys and Jack Perry (he may not be a shitter, but he is very underwhelming) made the actual card really weak. The J.A.S stuff was lame and the Swerve stuff was really boring. I was even disappointed with the BCC/Lucha Brothers match. For positives... uh... RVD seemed to still have it? One last gripe... Would it hurt the Young Bucks to cut a meaningful promo in the ring? Maybe... explain why the match with FTR is important to them? And not do it in video package form? A lot of AEW's bad tropes and tendencies returned this week Boo."
