[6.0] "Good show dragged down by the women's match, the Von Wagner - Andre Chase segment, Boa being spooky, Joe Gacy, and the women's backstage segment being phony. Opening match was good, Tag match was decent, and Main Event was excellent. AJ Styles and Grayson Waller segment was alright."
[6.0] "My first look at the re-branded NXT product. I must say that the old NXT product was feeling a bit stale so the fresh coat of paint is a welcome change, and the way the focus is now feels more logical within the WWE system, as the product resembles more what WWE brings to the main shows, thus actually preparing them for the style expected when brought up. But I won't deny I'll miss the old days of NXT. Just hope they totally lose the old spirit of NXT. This show did feel like it served a purpose and didn't let me down. The main thing elevating a second generation Steiner to main event status and managing to make Bron Breakker look good in the process. Credit to Ciampa for carrying the match through and making the aggressive newcomer look so competent only a year out into his career [***]! Carmelo Hayes/Roderick Strong double-title match was sweet too [** 3/4].And anything with WALTER will be worth anyone's time [** 1/2]. Simply a really good show as far as wrestling went."
[6.0] "Show has been mediocre, Bron Breakker is by no means main event material and I'm sorry that a veteran like Ciampa had to job to a rookie just for WWE to prove a point. Also sad is the fact that the show gets a passing grade for a match what involves Mandy Rose"
[5.0] "An overrated but still mostly fine show. It would have been an alright (6/10) show if not for that awful women's match and all those incredibly cheesy, forced, high-school acting-level promos and backstage segments. Onto the matches: Hayes vs Roddy was a good opener, featuring a fast pace and some nice intensity. Roddy mostly got great impact in his attacks, and Hayes had some nice agility and high-flying attacks. There were a few issues such as a bit of sloppiness in some transitions and strikes, some back-targeting/back-selling that was left feeling incomplete, and a confusing and I'm guessing also botched finishing stretch, but I mostly thought this was pretty fun and featured a nice mix of styles. ***1/4 - ***1/2. Aichner, Barthel & WALTER vs Carter, Riddle & Wes was an alright 'work-rate' match with many issues (and in that regard it was very reminiscent of NXT 1.0). Walter's offence was pretty underwhelming. Aichner had the best moments here but was barely featured. Wes and Lee had good but very uninspired high-flying work. Riddle was the worst here. He worked a fast pace and was over big time with the crowd, but he had absolutely poor connection and impact on literally all of his strikes. Not a good performance at all. At least the work here was still somewhat decent. ***. Rose vs Gonzalez vs Cora was pretty dreadful, featuring a bunch of wrestlers who struggle to make even the most basic of exchanges look remotely good. I can't believe THIS in-ring work here got a "This is Awesome" chant from the crowd lmao. Gonzalez was the 'best' here with her more power-based and monster-like attacks, but she was still pretty awkward. Absolutely woeful finishing stretch. *3/4. Ciampa vs Breakker was nothing special but a good littlematch. Breakker has very many impressive qualities to cover for his lack of experience and fundamentals, utilising his amateur-wrestling skills, strong confidence, power displays, and general athleticism to come off like a truly physical freak. His size and strength advantage forced Ciampa to rely on his aggression and scrappiness, attempting to grind Breakker down for the win. Their chemistry was good, though they didn't have any truly great moments here, more like they both just gave solidly good individual performances. ***1/4"
[9.0] "The opener was a great pack of fast-paced action and incredible chemistry between Hayes & Strong. Hayes winning cemented his place as one of the pillars of the 2.0 era of the brand. The six man tag was another fast-paced, balls-to-the-wall extravaganza that had Riddle pull off a wonderful one-off showing and WALTER's highly anticipated return. AJ & Waller had a decent promo that elevated to a match next week which is exciting. The women's match was solid enough and Mandy winning made sense as there are more challenges awaiting for her. The main event was a true "passing the torch" spectacle that was a huge upgrade of their Halloween Havoc showdown. It had the big fight feel and certainly delivered expectations. The women being non-cohesive and the pointless segment with Chase & Wagner are the glaring negatives here. And, extra perks to the Dusty Cup announcements and the build to next week's show. This is another example where NXT brings the best of their table in pivotal shows like here whether its Black & Gold or 2.0!"
[8.0] "Haven't touched an NXT weekly show for over a year now, but I was very interested in checking this one out after seeing the card. Gotta say, a fairly excellent show overall. The opener plus the six-man tag were awesome in their own ways, and we got a fantastic main event featuring an ecstatic title change to capped it all off. Didn't care for the backstage segments, nor any of the promos whatsoever, but they didn't bring the show down to a considerable amount. If you can skip the women's three-way, this is pretty close to being an all-timer. Maybe the best episode of NXT 2.0 as well, although I can't really judge as I never saw any of the previous episodes before."
[6.0] "This had some cool moments but I really felt there were just a lot of pointless segments that were used just for filler and not really storyline development in ring action was good and bad overall a show that was decent but didn't live up to all of the hype for me in my opinion."
[8.0] "Good show with great wrestling. The Cruiserweight and NA title unifying is going to be a great thing as more wrestlers can challenge for the belt and be on TV at the same time - it could be used as a TV championship where it's defended almost weekly. The women's title match was the only real letdown on this show. I dont have a problem with Mandy being champion but the fact that they've been building Cora up for all this time just for her to take the pin seems a bit strange, maybe they're about to bring Raquel to the main roster and want her to look strong' I dont know. The main event was great, and Black & Gold is finally dead with Bron Breakker being your new NXT Champion, and hopefully he has a long reign because he deserves it."
[9.0] "Like everybody else, the women's match was the only thing that brought the show down. It was a nice decision to keep the matches within the 15-20 minute mark. Adding up all the match times we didn't even get an hour of matches compared to old NXT's 2 hour show. At least they got THAT right. Shame the old NXT officially died that show with Tommaso Ciampa outright tapping to Bron Breakker, but he went out with a damn good match. just have the " North American Cruiserweight Championship" be changed to a much better name, and PLEASE improve your women's division, and NXT 2.0 (although 100% different from Triple H's NXT) will be at its cruising speed and all will sail smoothy from there"
[8.0] "Probably the best NXT 2.0 to date, and not coincidentally the one that focussed most on the wrestling. The weakest point was the trios match, where unfortunately they put the comedy team over the wrestlers, but all the other matches were good to amazing. Bron Breakker might be the best rookie I've ever seen."
[7.0] "One of the best new era episodes so far. The main event was definitely the match of the night. I just hope Ciampa and Roddy don't get tossed out now that they both lost their belts."
[8.0] "The best NXT episode since the 2.0 rebrand Roddy VS Hayes and Ciampa VS Breaker were really good, the six man tag was amazing, the womens match wasn't as good but it was still fine, also some good hype for the next few weeks with the Waller/AJ segment , the Pete Dunne promo and the Dusty cup Announcement."
[7.0] "This was a very good NXT 2.0 show but it wasn't spectacular. Woman's match let it down slightly, if NXT stays on this track it could return to some former glory"
[10.0] "The best NXT show I've seen in the last 2 years. Three amazing matches, a new champion, unfortunately a bleh Mandy Rose match to fill the middle but it didn't take any of my enjoyment away. Bron Breakker is a future Wrestlemania main eventer."
[9.0] "The first hour was excellent. 2 absolutely banger to start the show. The promo between AJ and Grayson Waller was good. For the second hour, the match for the women's title was correct. The promo between Von Wagner and the university dude was boring. On the other hand Ciampa vs Breakker saved the second hour."
[9.0] "An excellent show that showed shades of NXT's formed glory. Opener, 6 man tag, and the main event were all awesome matches. The women's match was mediocre. Hopefully Mandy gets to fight some more capable workers in her next defenses. The backstage segments and promos helped set the stage for the next couple weeks. NXT is starting to take shape, and I frankly couldn't be more excited."
[10.0] "Damn great show. Every match was at least good, and the few segments aired on the show had a good purpose, like Joe Gacy and Harland joining the Dusty Classic or the same with some of the women in the brand (Team Ninja, Indi and Persia); maybe the Wagner/Chase segment wasn't interesting but they kept it short. Regarding the matches, Roderick and Carmello had a pretty good match in the opener, a fitting (second) end for the Cruiserweight Championship and the right choice for the winner [***1/2]. The six man tag match was fantastic, pure action from start to finish, just as expected [****1/4]. The women's triple threat was far from terrible, actually there weren't many botches as anyone could've expected, and hopefully Mandy moves to a new program with any of the top females in the brand [***1/4]. Finally the main event was great, they built tension throughout the entire match and the nearfalls in the final parts were awesome: a great passing-of-the-torch match [****1/4]. Despite being now the developmental brand of the company, when they build good special episodes and events in NXT 2.0, they've been paying off strongly, and that's much appreciated."
[9.0] "Real good show. Hayes and Breakker both have their crowning moments as the big guns of the reboot while putting down some of the old standbys. Always a treat to see WALTER wrestle on TV."
