[6.0] "Seeing CM Punk in Daily's Place is now surreal in retrospect. This episode of Dynamite was good, but hampered down by too many multi-man tag team matches. The 10-man opener was the best match of the night. The middle section was rough, and the main event was pretty good."
[8.0] "Pretty good Dynamite, though not their strongest episode. I best liked the first and last matches, sometimes the point of a match is to advance a feud and provide good action and both did that very well. Some promos were very strong as well."
[2.0] "For me I found myself constantly saying "This episode of Dynamite is really bad". The 10 man match to start to show made me feel sick from the beginning because of the lack of stakes. I love Eddie Kingston but I found myself fading out during his trios match, The afterbirth of Jericho letting his entrance theme play for his delayed "save" of Santana was poor. Jade is probably going to be the 1st TBS Champion because of all this Big Swole nonsense that TK spoked the flames with on twitter. Brian Pillman's promo was the best part of the show!"
[5.0] "Nothing really gripped me here, strange to see so many multi-man matches also. [1st match] Good opener and MOTN for me. Everyone had time to get their stuff in, thought Private Party were way too comical though. ***1/4 [2nd match] Also pretty ok, but not a whole lot different to the previous match. *** [3rd match] Yet another comfortable squash by Wardlow, probably didn't even break a sweat. Don't even recall Delaney even doing anything. DUD The Brandi/Dan Lambert segment was something you'd expect from teenagers with all the dumb name calling, just awful, death TV [4th match] Surprisingly competitive; did not expect the result, and quite frankly I'm dreading the final, and whomever the first TBS Champion will be. ** [Main] Intense match, but to me many moves looked sloppy, worst multi-man match of the night for me. ***"
[7.0] "A fun one to end the Dynamite run on TNT. I've never get bored these two hours, maybe during Cargill vs. Rosa, even though that wasn't a car crash at all. The Daily's Place is a really cool venue, I felt at home."
[4.0] "I found this one pretty hard to get through by the end of it. Clusterfuck tag matches are probably my least favourite aspect of AEW in general, and this card was full of them. I don't know if it was just because we saw so much of the same thing on the same card, but that main event completely lost me and I couldn't wait for this episode to end."
[8.0] "Great way to end the TNT era of Dynamite as they're moving to bigger scales in the new year. And, they are set to start with a blazing card. However, this show was complete with good to great wrestling and qualitative improvements in storylines that are major and minor. Even the build to Rampage was very good. JR is back with a bang and Mercedes Martinez fills in as the final surprise of 2021 which is severely convincing. KOR had a great debut here and it felt great to see reDRagon reunite. 8.5 out of 10 points!"
[2.0] "Another pretty mild Dynamite show where every match felt incredibly contrived. I thought the main event had potential but it was your typical AEW match on TV, just full of nonsense and weak wrestling. Disappointing."
[5.0] "Some good Daily's Place buzz around this show. Match-wise the opening and main were good, the Kingston match wasn't interesting, and the women's match was bad. Segment wise - hated Jericho's clownish safe after giving Garcia so much time to strike; love that MJF and Punk are dancing around each other on their quest for gold; I seem to have more time for Lambert and MOTY than most other viewers; Mercedes Martinez is a good signing; skipped the Pillman promo."
[5.0] "A very middle of the road AEW Dynamite, there were to many multi man tags on this show. What happened to a good old fashioned tag match without throwing to teams together. Cargil needs a lot of work, Thunder Rosa couldn't save that train wreck. Main was definitely MOTN by a distance"
[4.0] "A very weak episode. Another squash from Wardlow, not very interesting matches in general except the main event, Brandi's promo was bad. Of the good moments were the appearance of Mercedes, Punk's promo and reunion of the former UE in the ring. Relative to past episodes, this one was much worse."
[7.0] "A fun episode, for the most part, one that invested a lot of energy trafficking in heat. The highpoint of that was 2.0's stolen victory, an outcome that beautifully enraged the fans at the conclusion of a believably intense, lightly vicious match. The opening multi-man was very enjoyable too, utterly chaotic in a really good way - just big spots performed by over, charismatic performers, anchored by the ground game any psychology of FTR, which pleasingly seemed to really rub off on Private Party tonight. The main event was definitely a good match too, if maybe slightly overbooked and with a few too many big kickouts. Still, O'Reilly's debut effectively illustrated his in-ring strengths whilst still letting Best Friends get plenty of deserved shine. Rosa-Cargill wasn't up to the same standard, unfortunately - good storytelling built around the selling of the leg, but it felt sluggish and drawn out, and the finish was too laboured and obvious. Punk's promo was good, but not great, and the Lambert-Brandi battle on the mic was enjoyable in parts, but the one-liners felt very inorganic and this story is still an imbalanced mess of alignments. The Wardlow story is starting to click a bit better now, even if Shawn Spears' antics remain the real highlight. The episode was also bolstered by JR's return to commentary, and not just because it's a feel-good moment. He sounded so enthusiastic and energised to be back, in good spirits and willing to allow more silliness than usual, that it elevated the entire product - a reminder that he really is the best to ever do it."
[8.0] "A show with good competitions that took the stories forward enough, especially the beautiful story of adam cole and Kyle O'Reilly, which is very beautiful."
[7.0] "Hell must have frozen over because by a comfortable margin the thing I enjoyed most about this episode was the promo from Brandi Rhodes, the line 'You might be a black belt but I am a black bitch' was amazing. Matches were fine but nothing particularly good in terms of in ring quality."
"I really love talk-heavy wrestling, but too many lame promos this time. The deeb/shida thing deserves to end but never will. The Acclaimed deserve more mic time but won't get it. The Baker promo reminded me, her reign consists of outshining her challengers who have no charisma whatsoever (weak builds), combined with weak in-ring match performances, and now with riho, essentially repeating the same booking as Christian/Omega. Two trios matches; I think they are trying to tell us an official division is incoming. Other things that make me question if I'm apart of the target audience: Dan Lambert and.... Mercedes Martinez is back - What were they thinking - Last show of the year (and on TNT) did not go out with a bang. I may have Daily's Place wresting PTSD due to the covid year. Too many bad memories."
[4.0] "Great to have JR back (and also great to have a break from Tazz's cheerleading and singing). The "last ever" Dynamite on TNT goes out with a dud, setting the stage for the TBS era. Fortunately the first TBS Dynamite actually has some main-eventers booked, so it'll be much better than this. Another 10 man tag match is just more of the same as the last few weeks. 2.0 going over Ortiz & Santana in the 6-man just continues their burial, to a team most people still consider a joke (and rightfully so, after the double scorpion to Sting not too long ago). I don't understand why Ortiz & Santana are so poorly used, they're so good. Jericho didn't seem to get much of a pop for his return and the crowd didn't seem to sing his song, he's really fizzled out and needs new direction. The Lambert / Men of the Year vs Nightmare Family is the last thing anyone wants to see. Lambert is good in really small doses, but gets old quick - definitely not a weekly act. The one-minute Wardlow match was fine to continue building him up to turn on MJF. TBS title match with Jade & Thunder Rosa was better than I expected, but Jade is still green. The Mercedes "surprise" didn't make much sense other than to keep Thunder Rosa busy until she goes after Brit. Main event was fine, Chuckie T on Dynamite is always a good thing, but more slow-burn Elite drama is really just more of the same. I'm sure whatever direction they're going to head with Supercliq vs Undisputed Era will lead to an amazing PPV match, but I'm hoping it doesn't take 3 months of guys deciding who they want to be friends with. Overall a bland show, with only one match with any purpose. Can we have some eliminator tag matches where the top 4 teams fight eachother occasionally to earn a title shot' Tag division could be so much more. Another Bryan / Hangman segment would have been good here, but I'm wondering if it's just precautionary during record-breaking covid numbers to ensure they're both available next week for the first TBS Dynamite."
[7.0] "A good, but conflicting show for me. The opener was very fun, a complete adrenaline pumped bout, and it all made sense in story ***3/4. That was followed by the Lambert/Brandi segment, which set the company back a week or so. I actually thought they were going the opposite direction with Cody, having him go up against more babyfaces, but that was not the case. The first six-man tag was a match that happened, and it entirely needed the Jericho save to be exciting. However, not over the moon by the prospect of a Kingston/Y2J feud. Jade/Rosa was fine, and it protected both of them with a surprise debut. Pillman Jr's promo was awesome, and the House of Black story is compelling. The Main Event, was a blast with some gnarly bumps, and planted seeds for the future ****. A fun, but over-booked show with some interesting decisions."
[7.0] "Very much a show that was more than the sum of its parts, none of the matches were outstanding but as a homecoming it worked really well, with a lot of the roster on the card and some good promos and story development. As a fan of AEW this was great fun, and the return to Daily's Place was a fitting end to the year, but it's only fair to acknowledge that the show isn't as good as many episodes of Dynamite when judged purely on its own terms."
[5.0] "An average, if incredibly bland episode of Dynamite. Only match that stuck out at all was the main event. The opener was fine but Christian taking pinfalls in matches with no build is bad booking. 6 man tag had literally no heat, and the result was dumb. At this rate Santana and Ortiz are just upper card jobbers who show up on TV once a month to put people over. Wardlow squash was fine. Women's match was okay. Mercedes Martinez was a cool surprise but I don't expect to see much of her on Dynamite after she puts Rosa over. Main event was good and best match of the show. Not a bad episode and it went by pretty fast but there were way too many bland promo segments and unnecessary recaps. AEW need to step away from the misogynistic approach they have with women in men's feuds. The fact Khan approved of that Lambert promo shows how short sighted he is. At least Brandi got to throw in a few barbs back I guess. Next week's episode should hopefully be better than this."
"Average Dynamite for sure and I did not like some of the booking on the show. I believe Rosa should have went into the finals with Soho. Also, I have not liked Santana and Ortiz booking as of late and I hope they get a push soon. The main event was fun and I would say was the best part of the show! Rating: 6.5/10"
[6.0] "Another average Dynamite. The best match on the show was Thunder Rosa vs. Jade Cargill, a truly good match by the AEW Women's Division standards. I love the FTR win, Punk and Pillman Jr. promos. Kyle's in-ring debut was a big letdown, he needed an interference to beat a undercard guy and his crew of geeks (as much as I love Trent, I can't stand Orange Cassidy and the others)."
