Archer! ) to why is this here (Hardy Family Office with Andrade? ) and a genuinely terrible women's segment that will only be worthwhile if it leads to a non-title women's singles match on the PPV. TK's continued disrespect to the women's division is unreal when Bear Country got 3x the ring time on this week's episode than any woman. Not a great show but one that functioned as a cool down from the masterful Danielson/Page episode."

In particular MJF and Punk continues to be built up really well, to the point I can? t wait to see the match. MJF is such an amazing heel, really gets more heat than most in todays era of wrestling. Nice introduction of Brody King, that should be a kick ass tag team. And also a good angle to set up Page? s next challenger. Wasn? t expecting that. Wasn? t a fan of the Deeb squash of Shida, didn? t think this feud needed that. And the Eddie/Jericho segment was confusing. Eddie is acting like a dick heel when the crowd wants to love him."

Maybe the break shifted my expectations a little or I am just in a good mood, but I did find the show quite a lot more enjoyable than expected. The focus was on building and continuing storylines and honestly, it worked well for me. None of the matches were as good as Hangman/Bryan from the week before, but that's fine because on the other hand there was nothing offensive or stupid in my opinion either."

[1.0] "Since I've been watching AEW Dynamite for a while, this was undoubtedly the WORST episode I've ever seen. Only promos like Cole and Baker's reunion or Jericho and Eddie's confrontation are the only decent thing about the show. CM Punk vs. Wardlow was a cheap version of Bret vs. Diesel, with the change that HERE if Punk's forced victory was noted, leaving Wardlow as a great brainless man. Dante vs. Hobbs was just another Powerhouse funeral for a flyer, although I'm glad to see Jay Lethal on the A show. Deeb vs. Shida is totally irrelevant. Penta vs Matt was the best fight within the null delivered, with a great debut from Brody King. The Acclaimed vs Bear Country was the most meaningless of the night (SKIPPEABLE), and the ME could shine if it wasn't for the ruin of the entire show."

[6.0] "It was obvious that Baker and Cole would work together at some point, however, it was a good segment. Bad booking in Punk vs Wardlow, but I'll wait to see what happens in the next few weeks. I note that AEW has realized that they have Jay Lethal under contract. Okay, but I don't understand what this has to do with Dante, maybe they didn't know what to do with him' I'm so happy to see Archer back, he will once again be an expendable victim but at least he's back. I love Serena Deeb, she's one of the best in AEW, but this storyline with Shida doesn't have my interest, it's monotonous and too long. Finally Brody King has arrived and more interest is given to Malakai Black, who for now has not convinced me in AEW. Main event, for me putting this interim title was bullshit. Cody comes back after a short time, so what's the point of putting an interim champion' The match was nice, but TK has some weird decisions lately."

One of the biggest criticisms of AEW is the booking of women and this episode was running a highlight over that multiple times. Main event was great, rest was just biding time to get to the next part of the feud. Really glad Brody King debuted, looking forward to him in AEW quite a bit."

[8.0] "Really good dynamite. A lot of storyline progression and fairly average wrestling. I was beginning to get bored of the SuperKilq vs Best Friends storyline but they added Kris and Britt and I'm really into it again. KOR got some mic time and is growing on me after his lackluster debut. CM Punk vs Wardlow was brutal. The crowd was really behind Wardlow and I felt like things are reaching a boiling point and I'm excited to see Wardlow have his moment but I hope he is able to stand on his own feet if he does leave MJF. Dante vs Hobbs was an average match, Taz said something on commentary which gave away the outcome. Deeb vs Shida was great, one of the best storylines they have going on at the minute. Penta vs Hardy was a rough watch, Matt is so broken down he can't bend one of his legs properly. Acclaimed vs Bear Country should have been on dark or elevation. Bowens needs to slow down his phrases so the crowd can chant along. Main event was good, Eddie completely outclassed Jericho in the backstage promo. Seeing a flashy high flyer being humbled by a technical submission specialist was fun to see. Eddies geniune, unfiltered words was much better than Jericho and his childish insults. I'm really hoping Eddie comes out on top in this storyline. Archer vs Page is going to be epic and I'm all here for it."

[7.0] "The opener wasn't the usual AEW slugfest but it had a fantastic story unfold & narrated on point with many layers like Wardlow's split and another page written between Punk & MJF as well as protecting both like diamonds. Dante vs Hobbs was a good "power vs speed" match that could've been much better & Jay Lethal being utilized after a long time is a great breath of fresh air. Hangman had a very good promo exchange with Dan Lambert & it was encapsulated with a cool return in Lance Archer, one of the underutilized stars in AEW who can easily thrive in huge scenarios like he's involved now. Shida vs Deeb added a new layer after the carnage the latter laid out thereby planning a decisive & memorable end to this feud that I'm really enjoying. Penta vs Matt was an uninteresting bout that was slow and clearly showed the shades of Matt's longevity facing a decline. Malakai slowly being in contact with Death Triangle & possibly ending his feud w/Varsity Blondes with the help of the newly minted Brody King is a great change for Black & AEW's deep roster. The Acclaimed had a match that was on par with the caliber of Dark/Dark: Elevation while PAC had a cool vignette furthering the issues between him & Black. The main event was another very good showcase from Garcia while Guevara was his usual self here. The boil between Jericho & Kingston is built up really well that might lead to a match somewhere. A solid episode of Dynamite in overall but a rare dull episode in the standpoint of wrestling quality."

[3.0] "Boring is the word. Punk vs Wardlow was a bit too predictable to me and took a long time getting to the ending I expected. The next match repeated the big man vs smaller man dynamic, and as was the case in the opener, the big man lacked the experience to make his long control segment be interesting. With Deeb vs Shida, I think the biggest crime commited was that they put together a pair who promise a workrate match simply from their pairing and then essentially said "Don't get so excited about a workrate match next time because even those can be discarded for the sake of angles." AEW threw away some goodwill with that one, I think. Main event was okay. Everything else is either pantomime-like or just boring."

[6.0] "This felt like a coordinated plan by AEW to sacrifice the in-ring product for long-term storytelling. I liked the story advancements for the most part; House of Black is intriguing to me, Punk vs. MJF/Wardlow/Spears is very compelling, and Undisputed Era/Young Bucks w/ Britt is leading to something big. However, advertising Shida vs. Deeb and getting people to look forward to it, only to have it unfold the way it did was very deflating. Also, AEW needs to learn how to have just a match with no segments before or after it. Too many brawls, too much interference. I thought Garcia vs. Guevara was great and really saved the show from being a failure in-ring. A solid 6."

Punk's match went exactly as expected, and the Dante match was very similar. Eddie vs Jericho and MJF vs Wardlow already feel dragged out. Sad to say there's not a single feud I'm currently excited about."

[7.0] "A fun episode of Dynamite with some strong highlights but a few moments that underdelivered. All the Elite drama worked really well, and Brandon Cutler continues to be hilarious even with the most minimal of presences. Wardlow-Punk was a really engaging match. The athleticism was good when it needed to be, but this was far more of a storytelling device and in that regard it worked beautifully. Unfortunately, it was followed up by Hobbs-Martin, which wasn't exactly a bad match, but it suffered by following the exact same formula as Wardlow-Punk - the heel absolutely dominating the smaller competitor until a distraction allowed for an opportunistic underdog victory. This is already a cliché in wrestling and running it twice back-to-back on the same show was a pretty dumb idea. A Hangman Page promo is always welcome. The surprise return got a mixed reaction from both myself and the crowd in attendance, but it should all be in service for a good match-up, at least. Deeb-Shida was brilliant, for what it was - Deeb looked like an absolute monster and this adds a needed layer of intensity to their primarily workrate-based feud. Penta-Hardy was a decent, inoffensive match, as was the tag match that followed it. I'm delighted to see The Acclaimed get involved in a high profile feud like this, but at the same time, they're too charismatic for Sting & Darby beating them up to actually feel like a heroic moment, even if it is justified. PAC's video package was the best kind of eerie. Guevara-Garcia was athletically sound and had some pleasingly nasty moments, but it was perhaps a little dry, especially because the result was never in question."

All but one match was poor, with the women's match being probably the worst disappointment I can remember from AEW. Ending an ongoing feud with a two minute squash AND having that be the only women's match on the show' Indefensible. Overall this was like watching a bad episode of RAW, hopefully this was a one off and not a sign of things to come."

I thought there were some strong promo/video package segments plus the debut of Brody King which was really cool but the in ring was pretty bad apart from the main event which I thought was great. I didn't mind the women's ''match'' not being a match because it was a way to write Shida off of TV and set up their final match when she returns, hopefully at Revolution, only problem is that for some reason Tony Khan still insists on only 1 women's match per show. But a weaker Dynamite for sure, matches just gotta be better and women deserve more."

[3.0] "Booking in AEW has lost the plot. Someone needs to take the pencil off Tony Khan. Barebones storyboarding would avoid all of this. Shida vs. Deeb is a good example. You have an amazing 2nd match in the feud, things are heating up, and then there's no build to what should be the blow-off 3rd match. Instead, it's barely promoted, it gets a shortish runtime with a big ad in the middle. So the feud just continues with barely anything in between matches, to less and less reaction from crowds. Then it's some injury angle for the 4th' What are we waiting for now, the 5th match to have the payoff'"

Solid promos that set things up or have returns/debuts (Archer is a GREAT choice for Hangman's next opponent, and I'm glad he's well after that botched moonsault; Brody King finally debuting is awesome, that dude kicks ass). I really liked Punk/Wardlow for its simplicity and storytelling, but man the ending was lame. Could've had MJF attack Punk in front of the ref and get Wardlow DQ'd if you wanted Punk to get the W, post-match would've been the same. Dante/Hobbs is a fun physical dynamic but didn't hit high gear. Deeb/Shida IV was just a setup for Deeb/Shida V but it was a good one; PLEASE just let them do Lights Out. Penta/Hardy was bland besides the opening fun. Acclaimed/Bear Country felt straight out of a Dark taping; I don't like that Bear Country are job guys when they're on national TV, they could be doing a lot more. Sammy vs Garcia was very nice although it felt more just a vehicle to put Sammy over and further Kingston/Jericho while Garcia put in a ton of work to feel like an afterthought. I thought this was mostly good TV though."

The opener was okay until the overly drawn out powerbomb sequence and that awful finish that made Wardlow look like garbage and didn't make Punk look good either. Dante Martin and Hobbs had a solid match, much better than their match a couple months back. Hobbs loses another big match to a guy half his weight... again. All the big guys are used for in AEW are to job and it's frustrating. Adam Page/Lambert segment didn't advance anything and then Lance Archer came out. The match should be alright but I am not intrigued at all because there is no way in hell Archer wins the belt. Women's match was like 3 minutes. Absolutely disrespectful to two of the best women's wrestlers in the world. Penta/Hardy was fine. Acclaimed/Bear Country was pointless. Main event was boring.
