[7.0] "A good showing for Impact's biggest event of the year. The main event was a very good installment to an intense feud between Cage and Callihan that probably should've been the blowoff (they would have a cage match on TV a few days later with Callihan winning the title). The five-way ladder match was a lot of fun and probably overall the match of the night, while Elgin vs. Marufuji was also solid and the North vs. Swann/Mack vs. Rhino/RVD three-way tag match was entertaining with a pretty surprising heel turn for RVD at the end. Perhaps a notch or two below Slammiversary, but a good watch overall to round out a solid year for Impact's major PPVs."

[6.0] "A good show that felt a little one paced at times and dragged in places, the first hour or so was agonisingly unremarkable. This wasn't at the level of recent Impact PPVs but just relatively solid with two standout matches. The main event was particularly good and Callihan keeps delivering in big spots for Impact. The Elgin/Marufuji match was enjoyable though it suffered from an unresponsive crowd."

[9.0] "Impact has produced easy to watch weekly shows, but their PPVs are something special. This was another successful PPV. The gauntlet match was pretty fun and as expected from this type of match. Edwards winning was a good choice. Tenille vs Taya was a lot better than expected. Both women did great and despite the one botch with the piledriver on the apron, they delivered a very good match. Tag title match was solid and played off the competition between the two challenging teams, but will be remembered for the closing minute. No one saw that ending coming. Elgin/Marufuji was really good at first and hard hitting as expected, but the final few minutes really made this one special. It was as intense as it should have been and ended up being an excellent match. The ladder match was awesome. All five performers took some great bumps and provided plenty of spots. Perhaps the best of them was Daga hitting Crist with a destroyer over the top rope onto a ladder. Incredible! oVe interfering wasn't a surprise, but sleazy Ace Austin winning was surprising and done rather spectacularly, because the crowd was stunned. Shamrock vs Moose was alright. Nothing particularly special but watching Shamrock wrestle at this level in his early to mid 50s is quite a sight. When it was announced that the main event was to be a No DQ match, I had a feeling it was gonna be brutal. The first few minutes with Cage biting Callihan and slicing him open with claws was out of character, yet perfect given the rivalry. Cage practically mauled Callihan at first. This was a great main event match with the right winner, despite the finish looking weak in terms of the piledriver on tacks being no sold. I hope there's a rematch down the line because Sami delivered here as a main event player. Impact delivered again. They really do have the best roster today. Edit: Also, nice to see some new user steal my review below."

[5.0] "I've given up on this company many years ago though I always come back to see how things are with BFG. This year again I wasn't convinced to watch this product. One match was good enough for me and that was Elgin vs. Marufuji, it is a shame that this great match totally lacked heat and crowd wasn't into it. The rest is just meh, brainless spotfests that can be seen anywhere else. The next Impact Wrestling show I am going to watch will be BFG 2020. Less is more, folks, but this is way too much that is not enough."

[7.0] "Good and well worked event, though with some booking flaws as the stories stagnate. Skip the gauntlet match. Moose vs Shamrock was also not good, but a bit better than expected and they both worked hard. All other televised matches I enjoyed. Tenille had some hard time with health problems till recently, but she's visibly working to get the rust off and I feel she is soon back to full capabilities. Thumbs up. I was hopeful when Mack came in, and he builds with Swann a great team. Best match was as expected the ladder match, though I think Tessa should have won."

[7.0] "A very good show overall however bad booking cost this ppv a higher rating. Taya and Brian have held the belts all year for Impact and not brought any eyes to teh product. Callihan is regularly making the news and Tenille is extremely popular why on earth would you not give them the belts. After everything they've done with Tessa the decision not to give her the X-Division title was stupid. The matches however were actually very good, the X-Division Ladder match was an easy 4. 5 stars for me, Sami and Cage had a great 4 star brawl, the tag title match was another very good 4 star match for me. Taya and Tenille was ok with a decent 2. 5 star match. The Battle royal was kinda just there but teh right guy actually won it thankfully, this was also the first time i've ever saw Joey Ryan and wow is he stupid, i can suspend my dibelief for most things in wrestling but getting hit between the legs hurts like hell, there's no way i can buy a guy who actually fights with it, it's ridiculous."

[8.0] "I liked it a lot. Better than many of the shows I've seen on the WWE network this year. Everybody worked hard and put something entertaining together. Nice to not see a whole slew of title changes in one night but people like Rhino, Tessa, and Sami looked worthy of gold in 2020. Ken Shamrock vs Moose was possibly the worst match of the night purely due to being a little overbooked but Ken looked incredible and really surprised me with his athleticism. If he wants to stick around Impact for a spell then I'd be very happy to see him do so. Good show. I'll consider ordering the January PPV too. It's a pity that Impact have to hide this kind of show behind a paywall because their more easily accessible Twitch/Plus events had lower my expectations for what Impact could do at full force. Impact has been a little neglected in all the recent news and hype but we may still see another AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Drew McIntyre, Bobby Roode, etc, come through."

[5.0] "I thought this was Impact's worst PPV of 2019. The Battle Royal had a great surprise (Kylie) and a not-great surprise (Joey, ugh), but the action in the match itself was nothing of note (*3/4). Taya vs. Tenille was decent, but not as good as I thought it would be, and I disagree with having Taya retain instead of giving the title to the more recognizable star going into your new TV deal (**1/4). The tag match was pretty good, but also not as good as I thought it'd be, and the RVD heel turn was completely random (***1/2). Elgin vs. Marufuji was a great strong-style type of match, and definitely the match of the night for me (****). The Ladder Match was a spotfest (predictably), but other than the stuff Acey Romero did, none of the spots were particularly notable. I also really didn't want Tessa to win, but even I can admit that Tessa should have won that match (***3/4). Moose vs. Shamrock was a dumpster fire. Shamrock wants to know why WWE has never asked him to come back, well there you go, Kenny. I'll give it a quarter of a star for Ken's willingness to do some high-flying stuff, but even doing those he didn't look good. Add in a terrible ref bump and the fact that Frank Trigg was back to walking around normally at ringside no more than 10 seconds after getting "knocked out" by Shamrock, and this was just a bad match (1/4*). Cage vs. Callihan was pretty good. It didn't surprise me that it was changed to No DQ, as Callihan can't have a great match without a hardcore stipulation to cover up his lack of wrestling ability, but even with that stipulation this was just pretty good, not great. Great call on having Cage retain though, he's definitely the guy you want as your world champion heading into the new TV deal (***1/2)."

[8.0] "Good all around show. The Call Your Shot gauntlet was very good as far as kicking off the show and providing a few fun surprises. Marafuki/Elgin was a great showcase of Japanese strong style and the crowd was very into it. The triple threat tag match was a lot of fun, not sure about the RVD turn at the end. X Division match was my personal MOTY. Canadian Destoyer through a ladder and Acey falling through the table were nuts. Ace is definitely deserving but the crowd really wanted Tessa. Shamrock vs Moose was ok. There were a few scary points where Shamrock's ring rust showed. The main event was good and got out to a hot start. There were no shenanigans and no run-ins and I think that made it that much better that it was a clean blow off to the feud between these 2. Good overall show with a little something for everyone"
