But the most embarrassing thing is the sexist context at the start of the preshow and Nakazawa's underwear trick, which not only makes the matches embarrassing, but also the whole preshow a bit problematic. As far as positive non-match angles are concerned, this new Dark Order intervention stands out, but there's nothing else to report. In-ring quality: 2/5. Angles and segments outside matches: 0.25/3. Bonus/malus: -1.25 for problematic scenery. Total: 3/10. Show seen on AEW Plus."

[5.0] "This wasn't as good as the Double Or Nothing buy in but it was alright. The best match was the opener. Once the women's match started to get going it thought it wasn't bad. The main event was a fun joke match. Not really recommended."

[10.0] "Except for not explaning the rules for the opening match, since it wasn't classical tag match, was quit confusing how the tags work, this was quit entertaining. And sure Alex Jebailey could do a bit better selling of injured leg but since he's not a wrestler he gets a pass"

[5.0] "This was a passable Buy-In. The match of the night came early as Best Friends beat SCU and the Private Party to win a ticket to All Out. Allie and Leva Bates then stunk out the joint in a horrendous match. Finally, Michael Nakazowa and Alex Jebailey had a decent comedy hardcore match."

[4.0] "As an overall buy in show, this was not great. The tag match was fine, if nothing spectacular. The librarian shtick was horrendous and flopped flat with the crowd. Allie was way more charismatic in the ladies match. Wtf is there to say about Nak and Jebailey. If youre into the baby oil stuff and general thong nonsense, maybe you'll like this. Some of the pool and table spots were decent, if still silly, and Nak gets dropped straight on his head at one point. The backstage stuff with the budget was funny enough tho, especially when they have to replace the real models with stand ins."

[4.0] "This Buy-In is a journey; this peaked early with a really good opening match and then just got worse and worse as it went along. The women's match wasn't as bad as I remembered it being; so that was nice. The last match on this show was awful, and I wish I could rate it so I could give it a 0. I didn't really love the bits acting like they used up the budget to the show; I get they're supposed to be funny skits but maybe don't do that in a new company; I don't think it gives a great impression even if it's a joke."

[2.0] "Damn, it's sad that I can't rate 0 that hardcore match. I can't give this a worse grade because of that tag match but this was really a bad time."

[5.0] "A just average pre-show, the best match being obviously the 3-Way Tag Team. Allie vs. Leva Bates was pretty bad, and if I had to rate Alex Jebailey vs. Michael Nakazawa, it would be a 5, and that's only because the audience was into it, otherwise it would have been a 4, at best."

[4.0] "So this was something. The first tag match was really good. Three tag teams who really knew what they were doing, and a strong proper debut for Private Party. As for Bates and Allie, they were terrible. No chemistry, very awkward. And while I thought that the Hardcore match was definitely the worst match here, I recommend that you watch it just to appreciate that some guy who isn't a wrestler got to fulfill his dream of being one for like 10 minutes. He wasn't good and Nakazawa is weird as hell, but it makes you at least kinda enjoy that match. Don't watch this pre show. Do the tag match and skip to the main portion."

[2.0] "This was total garbage. If I didn't already pay my 8.. 99 for FITE TV, I would've turned it off and head to bed. Automatic zero but you did have the good 3-way tag match. The Elite comedy was absolutely atrocious. The women's match was the worst match of the year. The whole hour felt like two."

[3.0] "If i was not such a willing fan, i don't think i would have paid to see the main card, and it has been twice in a row, already. Opening was entertaining, especially due to Quan, but they have fastly screwed the ten count rule (** - **1/4). Leva/Allie was less than adequate and i cannot personally appreciate all this "library" angle (*1/2). Jebailey/Nakazawa was mindless fun, but should not be a thing for AEW in order to them to strive (*1/2 - *3/4)."

[7.0] "Nice pre-show. Good tag team match. Normal women's match. Good comedy match at the end. Not a bad start before the main show."

[7.0] "Nearly a perfect pre-show. Awesome first match with amazing wrestling - ****. Pretty weak women`s match, but cheers for gamers, comics and manga, they know their audience - **1/4. Icing on the cake is great Nakazawa-Jabailey brawl with good balance between comedy and extreme, amazing - ***1/2"

[4.0] "The pre show was not good. The first match I actually enjoyed. It was fun. I didn't know who the private party were, but after watching that match just became their fan, specially marq quen. But the other two matches were not good. I didn't like the whole library gimmick and the match wasn't good. The third match was just...... ahhh alex didn't sell anything. And he dropped nakazawa on his head. I know it meant to have comedic purpose but seeing a match with no selling is not enjoyable. But I really loke Nakazawa and his gimmick. So I just because of the first match I give the pre show a 4. But the main show was really good. Not better than DoN, but still enjoyable"

[5.0] "This was Ok. It wasn't great. The tag match was by far one of the best matches in recent memory. But the rest of the event had its ups and downs. The hardcore match was good fun, I'll admit, but that's about it. the women's match was unnecessary and the librarian gimmick was lame, especially since Peter Avalon deserves better."

[5.0] "The tag match was awesome. Best Friends and SCU were about as good as you'd expect and Private Party won me over instantly. Perfect way to warm up the crowd. However, Allie vs. Leva Bates was not good at all. Allie's offense is terrible and Leva's everything is terrible. I really hope that AEW cuts the unfunny comedy junk like the Librarian out of their weekly show. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Jebailey vs. Nakazawa was stupid and bad and yet I loved every ridiculous, idiotic, fan-pandering second of it. Really fun celebrity comedy match. Overall, this was definitely better than DoN's Buy-In, but I really hope that this is the last of the super goofy stuff on the pre-shows. I've had my fill of it. It's time to kick it into gear."

[5.0] "The tag team match was great, and couldn't have been a better first showing for the relatively unknown team of Private Party. Even in defeat, they were the stars of that match (****1/4). Allie vs. Leva wasn't very good, and The Librarian gimmick is just not working (**). The Hardcore match was weird and not good. Jebailey looked like he had no idea what to do in the ring. He looked like you put somebody who had never heard of pro wrestling in the ring without a word to him beforehand. I call this match the "you can use my gaming convention for a wrestling show if you let me have a match" match (*3/4)."

[8.0] "Enjoyed this one, the opening tag was great, everyone delivered really well and I was pleased with the winner. I liked the video of the Dark Order, though the blackout gimmick didn't seem to quite land right. I didn't mind the Librarian shtick but it didn't get over well with the crowd. The match with Allie was pretty good though. The Nakazawa/Jebailey stuff was really not my cup of tea, but if you liked it more power to you."

[5.0] "The 3-way tag team match was decent, it had some good spots, but felt a bit slow overall. Leva vs Allie was a terrible match, Allie had to do all the work herself. The librarian should just quit wrestling and do cosplay or something. Nakazawa vs Jebailey was pretty fun and entertaining, Jebailey is actually really good for a non-wrestler. The worst thing about the Buy in was the commentary, which was horrible. Excalibur was ok, but that Logan Sama guy nearly ruined the event for me, and should be banned from ever talking on the mic again."
