114.01.2024MarkCarnochan976.0In 2016 the company had managed to pull in over 6, 000 fans, making it the largest independent wrestling show in Europe since the 1980s. Unfortunately, for the new fans that would have been watching the show and for the major news it caused, ICW Fear and Loathing IX was one of the company's weakest shows. When they returned to the venue for Fear & Loathing X they put on probably their best Hydro show and a major improvement from the year before. Sadly, attendance was down by 2, 000 and it was clear that the company had wasted their chance at pulling in new fans in a major way. Returning to the hydro for a third and final time, the attendance had dropped again, going from 6, 000 the first year to 4, 000 for the second and now 2, 000 fans for Fear & Loathing XI. Given the arena has a capacity of over 14, 000, it was a sad sight to see. It was probably the second best hydro show with some solid matches like the opening TLC match, the Queen of Insanity deathmatch, the main event and the six-man with British Strong Style. It's an ok show but one which is more memorable for the downfall of ICW than anything else. However, it also showcases Lionheart's peak in ICW and that is something I will never forget.
224.02.2019PapaSmurfIIIVIII7.0I only saw the Women's Championship match. Seeing these two beat each other to the point that they did was pretty intense. It's been 2 months since I've seen it so I need to go back and watch it to make note of the details, but I give them both credit (Kay Lee Ray & Viper) for putting their bodies on the line in this way.
319.12.2018rykejamal7.0ICW's biggest show the year did not disappoint, but took a couple of matches to get into high gear. The night was filled with surprises and some great matches, which were built nicely in the lead up to this event. First, the three matches that started the show were the lowest point for me, but not because there was anything bad; rather, I expected a bit more. PoD and Joe Hendry winning their respective matches was questionable, but that didn't take away from the show. Every match following was great, apart from Storm vs Grado which did little for me. The title matches were wonderfully put together with the Women's title match being the MOTN. A fantastic showcasing of both women, who took each other to the limit in a brutal match that could have easily closed out the show. Speaking of, Lionheart winning the big one was a great moment, the match however wasn't the best that the two have had. It was a good match and a solid main event, but not as good as the other matches they had this year. Regardless, this was a very good show for ICW, nowhere near their best though.
